Journey from Ricky Diwan to Rishi Kumar

In this topic i am trying to analyse changes in the character of our hero. The changes were very gradual and step by step.So, here goes my step by step analysis. 😊

Phase I : Ricky Diwan

Ricky Diwan was any normal person and I feel in this century no normal person is pure. Everyone has grey shades. So, did Ricky. He was selfish but won't harm anyone intentionally. He was a bad, spoilt brat with a pure, golden heart. He has a heart that was always in search of love, he never left the hope of getting it. He never showed to anyone that he wanted love. He hid his feelings beneath his carefree attitude. He became a carefree person because none of his family members cared for him. He got the love in the form of money. But money is not everything. No one in his family ever showed love and affection which a child would want. So, a good person inside Ricky diwan got lost but the thing was, he never killed that good person inside him.

When the accident happened, any normal person would have done the same thing according to me. No no, I am not supporting his act. Very few would be there who actually repent for what they do. As he was Ricky Diwan then, he tried to run away but when he heard indira's voice something made him stop. And the "Good Person" inside him was brought up in front with indira's words of vidit being her last hope. Even though he was carefree,spoilt,bad he knew the meaning of it as he himself had never got the love. So, the journey of good Ricky Diwan started.

Phase II :

Entry in SN: The Rishi Kumar Diwan

Here comes our jovial, fun-loving, flirt, naughty, adorable Rishi Kumar. Now, if we see Rishi Kumar and Ricky Diwan, we can see the two different personalities. But as I said before inside ricky diwan there was always a good person and that is rishi kumar. Rishi Kumar is neither selfish nor selfless. His behavior differs from person to person. He is not offensive but definitely defensive. When he entered SN he did not only change his name but came out of the shell of bad Ricky Diwan. But he was still a Diwan. That's why he was selfish except with indira. He never cared for anyone except Indira. Rishi loves to spread happiness and love. Love is the thing which matters to him the most but there are exceptions. He would not try to be good with people who are not worth it. He is like tit for tat. We could see examples of it in his acts. He made fraud with those property papers. He talked to jhumpa by stealing indur's phone. ( I had laughed so hard while watching it). He brought up the hidden face of indur in front of everyone by making smart moves. He didn't ever listen to people when it was not his mistake. He had self-respect. The reason for all this was he was still a Ricky Diwan. Or I should say, that was the time when he was a perfect combination of Ricky Diwan and Rishi kumar.

He hadn't fall for indira then but his ultimate goal was to bring happiness in her life as he himself didn't get it and was guilty for being responsible for her brother's condition. He tried to bring that happiness in her life and that was the reason he had come to SN but he never sacrificed his self-respect for it. He got taunted by indira so many times for his interference but he didn't give up and took it as challenge. He didn't run behind her that time but he was always there to support her.

Phase III:

Rishi Kumar: when his identity and vidit's secret was out

Now, this was the phase when he was getting converted into Rishi Kumar completely with no Ricky Diwan in it. When his identity and vidit's secret was revealed, Indira who was his love, got so much hurt that Ricky Diwan in him died. He felt so bad that the person who loved him got hurt due to him. So, he kept on consoling her. He kept on confronting her. He didn't give up. He never had ego but he never ran behind anyone until then, but his love for indira made him forget everything. Now, he was a completely pure person with no grey shades in him. When he started to love indira, he was becoming desperate to marry her. He just wanted her to be in his life. He forgot everything even his self respect. I couldn't believe when I saw him getting slapped by indur and thought is he the same person who had brought up indur's plan in front of everyone. I didn't mind him help indira by bringing a father in indur back but not on the cost of self respect. Many of us, I myself wanted him to show some self-respect and wanted him to stop running behind her after a while. But it was just not Rishi Kumar. He can't see the person he loved getting hurt. Finally, indira forgave him.

Phase IV :

Husband of Indira

He is a very sweet, romantic husband. He is a husband who will support his wife throughout his life. I just love this layer of him, but I want this to be his layer not the person if you all are getting what I am trying to say.

In phase III and phase IV, our hero changed completely, he became even nicer but he didn't remain the same person. That is where I have problem. I want him to love indira unconditionally no doubt but he can do that being a combination of Ricky and Rishi which he was.I mean he was just that way. He was the real person in him that time. He need not had to change him completely. He need not had to get desperate to marry indira and bring her in his life. He need not had to lose his self-respect. This is where I am disappointed with the change in his character now. I would love to see real Rishi Kumar Diwan who was there in Phase II.

Hats off to SV for portraying so many emotions, so many layers of one character, which is Rishi Kumar Diwan. Just love SV to the core. He did and is doing great job. He makes us believe every layer of his character. He is really a very very good actor and what to talk about his personality; I just love each and everything about him. We are fortunate to have him in HD.

Ok, I will not write anymore. This has been a really long post. Sorry for it. I wanted to write even more but thank god I didn't. I hope I didn't waste your time by making you read this post. Do add anything if you feel I missed.

I think he did care for ishaan's feelings, amma's feelings and he has listened to them. he got munna out of jail for ishaan. I think he also cared for sunaina bhabhi. Getting her pizza's was one such act, then taking her to lajpat nagar. I think he is basically a caring person.

ok..i agree with you,,He did care for them all. But those people were related to indira. Throughout my post i mentioned that he was selfish except for indira means he never showed his selfishness for people who were close to indira,especially ishan..he loved ishan the most. And i mentioned this also that he is neither selfish nor selfless.His behavior changed person to person.
