finally saw yesterday and today's episode. now that i have seen it, i do not see sameer's character as redeemable or marriage worthy for indira AT ALL...anyone else who does seriously needs to evaluate the risks of being with sameer. for sameer, indira is definitely another item which is catching his fancy for now. in the future, that fact may not be true anymore.
as for rishi making the cartoon sketch, i might get a backlash for saying this, but consider it almost a devil's advocate stance. we had a member, sabah, who always gave a counter-viewpoint concerning the sharmas in the beginning & she always gave justification towards the cycle indira easily let reoccur. if you truly think about it, the sharmas only act the way they do with indira because she allows it. her compassion and hidden family attachment leads her to be the scape goat, the one who reaches out to only be burnt, and the one constantly being taunted. otherwise, in a different household, someone like indira would have taken the papers in her name and kicked out everyone else.
so on to the cartoon sketch, if you look throughout history caricatures and cartoons have had more power than political law, and have swayed nations. so, even if rishi wants to be an artist - there is absolutely nothing wrong or odd about it. infact, if he wanted, he could even make money off his own strip (like peanuts - snoopy- does, calvin and hobbes, etc). the level of intellect and human empathy should be there. the only two true moments where rishi crossed the line was when he stopped indira by filing a police report, and the pregnancy case. yes, breaking munna out of jail was wrong because like marlon brandon said in the Godfather, if an inner circle is at odds, outsiders should not know because others will take advantage of it. but he learned from that mistake and became better. he thought twice before thinking that helping the sharmas would equate to helping indira.
now, on to the cartoon in relation to indira... how did he mock her? it takes great swallowing of pride to apologize (we see this even in indira when she wants to apologize .. its like her throat constricts). not only did rishi accept that he hurt her, but he also apologized publicly. he did not ask for anything more or anything less. wasn't it indira who also said that she does not want to be hitlerdidi forever? by depicting her as a stern and strong woman, rishi did not demean her but showed her as a woman of principles. he, in a different way, is making her wish of "main hamesha hitler nahi rehna jati" true in a less direct or couple-esque way. he is molding that image of fear of her into respect. the only basis for her hitlergiri is because she was hurt not because she takes joy in hurting others like sameer. sameer doesn't even have a clue about this. infact, sameer does not apologize about hiding rishi's reality, or for trying to take her property by falsely marrying her or anything ... instead he forces himself upon her. he tries to buy her, rishi had leant her money but he mentioned that he wasn't doing her a favor just balancing their books, sameer has no real concept of her emotions.
as for vidit, yes rishi hasn't told her anything about helping vidit but she never truly asked him either. if she has a right to confidentiality with vidit because they are siblings, than that same relationship would exist between friends which seems to be the case between vidit, sanjay, and rishi. haven't we told our friends something we deem significant that we have not told our parents or siblings before? plus, i think we can all attest to the fact that we have waited before sharing good news with people close to us. rishi does not want to present a bed-ridden vidit to indira but a person whom doctors tell him will be fine in one month, now two weeks. rishi has always been a incomplete thinker, always looking for a quick but always weak fix. he probably reasoned that bringing a sick vidit would tarnish indira's image of her brother being strong and able-bodied and add another worry for her. its silly, honestly his intentions are always good. he has never had to show himself as an extreme when making a point .. like previously mentioned, if rishi wanted to he could force himself on indira like sameer but he does not. infact, he can also answer indira's thappads and words with his own ways, and unintentionally he did hurt her via his actions, but im taking about intentionally like sameer- he does not. the few times he did answer indira back, he spoke to her and brought reason to her. in these ways he showed his good intention and won her friendship. life is a battle but we usually try to make allies instead of enemies, why should indira always have to cross swords with sameer? what is sameer's worth that she should spend so much energy on him?
yes, the pacing is there & now the track is progressing in a different way BUT in this same process they are only showing mere glimpses of such interesting characters and personalities (the only hitlergiri we saw was at the bank ;/), while not allowing the audience to fully process the situation.
at this point ... i am just slightly confused about HD and really wish that we could see more events dealing with her family, maybe rishi doing things like getting a job and working hard to improve, while indira is slowly letting go of such small tensions and taking more care of herself. it would be nice to see sunaina having trouble with her pregnancy or something while all the above happens, so we can see munna's reactions and maybe change.
but on top of it all ... what are the CVs waiting for? why are they delaying the whole vidit thing?
a quick note on the forum as well, its so tiring to see that to like one character another is bashed. they all make up the current framework of HD without either one the story line would be so different - especially if we did not have Indira. could you imagine someone super innocent and kinda young (like 20) playing indira's role? no. so i don't get why each character, especially the MAIN one like rati getting so much backlash ..sigh
