Interesting article, thanks for sharing. The only point that I didn't really digest was the power play point, in think that we have come far in terms of equality so that such things are not at the forefront of issues between men and women but then again I have known to be quite naive about the reality of things, viewing things from more of a utopian hope.

I wonder if they will bring in this element of power play between Indira and Rishi. Most Indian Serial heroines tend to be submissive, even the put upon roles like Indira, for example Pavitra Rishta. Whenever there are more assertive characterizations, their aggressiveness is restrained through manipulation, familial duties or other constraints like Pratigya. I wonder if Indira's personality will change if and when she falls in love to accommodate this power dynamic. ๐Ÿค”

I liked this note though.

Men, on the other hand, more frequently replied that sexual attraction was a prime reason for initiating a friendship, and that it could even deepen a friendship.

It reminds me of another comment by a man about how men tend to be more visual, that they are more readily able to assess situations or comprehend the facts through sight and women tend to be more focused in the details, seeing the bigger picture through insight of substance.

With love, Sabah

Sabah- the 3rd 1 isnt suprsising cause they still dont understand the concept of friendship with a "chick" well...as revathy said you dont fall in love with a personl till you dont find her unattractive...that applies more to men i believe...women somehow know whom they want as a friend and who as a boy friend...

Ahem I am goin to spoil some fun out of the discussions here ๐Ÿ˜†.
@bold - by that if you meant, whatever reality the movie depicted was originally unintended, then I agree.

@blue..what makes you think that? am genuinely curious ๐Ÿ˜›

Edited :- Do not forget, Indian Viewers are more interested in eye lock, Dupatta udao, kissing ๐Ÿ˜† at any cost whether situations permit or not , they have limited thinking n they cannot think beyond that ๐Ÿ˜†

So you are depending heavily on the mandira-rishi flirtation bit? they haven't taken it forward but lets hope they do...somehow even i see more sparks there...๐Ÿ˜†

Sabah I somehow can't imagine Indira becoming submissive in a relationship...i am not clued into pavitra rishta or pratigya, I can only think of Nupur who never lost her spunk post marriage...only absorbed more responsiblities in herself...

Great Post Rinky.
There is a thin line of separation between friendship and love.Today many young boys and girls donot have a clear and matured view on this.
Reationship between a boy and girl is always been a sensitive issue.Either surrounding people misunderstand man-women relationship or they themselves mis understand it.If anyone man/women considers friendship as love ,then only he or she will suffer but if both consider love as frienship both will suffer later.
So all tht needed in a man-women relationship is thorough understanding of feelings ,emotions and what the expectations.Man-women relationship ,they must have a matured perspective.

For example, take the case of sajan in mjht. They were frnds.Samrat was only thinking gunjan as frnd. She felt the caring side of samrat as love.Similarly, samrat nvr knew gunjan loved him.Even later when sheena ditched him, suddenly he started feeling for gunjan, who was his best frnd.Since gunjan also loved him, there was no prob. But what if the gunjan or samrat think other one as frnd only???
Maynk-nupur case was totally different.

Regarding Indira and Rishi issue, before Indira could fall in love,it is very important for her to feel her emotions which she has been burying within herself. She needs to express emotions openly ,she needs family support and a break from all family financial pressures and issues. She must start smiling, living her life and loving her life.
For all this to happen, she needs a friend who could take care of her and bring some colour to her life.So i am expecting rish-indira frienship.I have hopes for mandira-rishi issues to in future.
Lets see what story the story has in store for us.
