In that movie "Jeevan Dhara" too Rekha was playing same role like hitler didi. i.e. in her family she had single mother, good for nothing brother (Raj Babbar), a housewife sister in law, younger sister and niece and nephew. Her brother wasn't working and wasting all his money in drinking liquor and playing gambles (juaa). He wasn't taking responsibilities of his wife kids, 2 younger sisters and mother. Hence the sister (Rekha) had to work to feed the family and due to bitterness for her brother and struggle of life she becomes tough and strict with her family esp. to her niece and nephew and nobody in family incl. her younger sister or her SIL dare to tell anything to her. She keep taunting her brother for not working and also to her nephew to not become like his father. She fall in love with one guy but her sister too fall in love with same guy. She sacrifices for her sister and get her married to that guy. Then eventually her brother (Raj Babbar) realises his mistake and get aware of his responsibilities and ask his sister (Rekha) to leave job and promise to leave drinks and gamble and pick up job and get his sister married. Sister (Rekha) becomes very happy about it. but the tragedy again happen in her life was that her brother dies in accident and again all responsibilities of her brother's wife and kids and her old mother come on her (Rekha). Then in the end of movie, she murmur, that the girl who have widowed mother and SIL, who have niece and nephew without father, doesn't get married, but she do job and runs her family. That was a real tragic scene.

So now I just watched only 2 episodes of Hitler Didi and I immidiately understood tht it is clearly seems an inspiration of that Rekha's movie "Jeevan Dhara". Here too, Indira (Hitler didi) has single mother, father left the family and got remarried, not working brother, housewife SIL, younger sister and nephew. And her role too is exactly like Rekha in that movie, tough and strict. While her brother don't like to do job and let his sister take burden of household. However the movie was 3 hours while this is serial. And in serial they can twist and change the story as the episode go by or add more drama to the plot to run more and more episodes. I don't know what twist might take in future episodes or will it get exactly like that movie, viz. love triangle with younger sister and death of brother, but the initial plot seems like that movie only.
