Having worked in the TV industry for six years, actor Rati Pandey gained popularity on small screen with her role in Miley Jab Hum Tum.

As Nupur, a vivacious college girl in the show, she was noticed and that helped her bag a few other shows too. But they were still similar to what she had already done. However now Rati will shed her bubbly avatar and don an authoritarian's hat in Zee TV's new show Hitler Didi.

Talking about her transformation as Hitler Didi, Rati says, "I was getting several offers to do roles similar to that of Nupur. But I wasn't keen to do them any more, as I wanted to try new kinds of roles. When I was approached for this role, I readily accepted it, as it needed me to bring in some variations. At first it was quite difficult, as I have to be serious all the time. And in real life I am a very chirpy and bubbly girl and I keep on smiling all the time. I have tried to add more shades to my serious role in this, though a serious role doesn't have much scope for it."

Unlike many other shows, this one is being shot in the capital. So what was it shooting in the busy streets of Delhi? "Firstly as the show is set in Delhi's Chandni Chowk, I had to talk in a dialect that locals here speak in. But that wasn't as difficult as controlling myself from going to the yummy food stalls. The food stalls and eateries were all close by and hence I used to sneak out from the shoots sometimes. But also in Delhi girls have to be very alert and I realised this while shooting in many places. Mumbai is much safer in comparison," adds Rati.
