Logic behind early lunch/heavy breakfast..u won't feel drowsy after eating. And we do considerable activity in day time. So even if we feel like taking n afternoon nap there is a good time span in between to digest what we have eaten.

Same with early dinner..there r enough hours to digest till sleeping time

I don't take naps in daytime. Why waste my dayšŸ˜†

Best. Take your husband for a walk, leave him there, lose 80kg instantaneously. 😊

Also there's a couple of youtube channels that are great for working out. I prefer HIIT and strength-training rather than plain ol walking. I used to follow the FitnessBlender channel for many years - they're really great and have a bunch of workouts for beginners that you can do right at home.

Right now I started Sydney Cummings and she is kicking my buttšŸ˜†

Dieting is the worst way to lose weight. Plus I'm a big foodie so I refuse to diet. I've recently been on a weight loss spree and I spoke to my doctor about the best way to do it.

He said instead of dieting, change your eating habits slowly. First he had me move carbs to the morning or max lunch only. Then he said to reduce the portions I'm eating. He said don't cut out snacking completely. Instead reduce it and then slowly change it. If you're into junk food, then cut back on the portion size. Then slowly change it to healthier options. For example, recently I started eating baked chips and damn they're just as good as the fried versions. So I'm moving off fried to baked. Along with that I'm adding new types of salads to my diet. I make a really good kale salad and chickpea salad. Not that boring lettuce or all greens salad. Salads can be fun.

Finally, I asked him to prescribe me an oral weight loss medication for the short-term to help increase the weight loss for the next year and so that I can reach a healthy weight. Then with all the food habit changes I can finally stick to a good weight without losing my foodie status. 🤣

Try some of the options above. And of course I mean you gotta exercise along with that. Try out new things if you find going to the gym and running on a treadmill boring. I took up an elliptical and swimming (though the latter is hard with my schedule and the timings of the free pool).

I have used progress pics to keep my motivation in losing weight. Its positive reinforcement, which keeps the consistency.

Additionally there are shows that talk about how hard obesity is on overall health. This motivates me to keep trying to be healthier as I grow older.

Hope it helps someone here 😊

Btw. True stuff. I did save two girls from drowning. First was when I was 10 and the girl was 6. Another lil kid had pushed her...The lil girl couldn't swim

Second was in Jamaica. A woman was crying help. There were people near her so I thought she was just playing. Then I realized no one was coming and she was still shouting. I swam to her and tried to pull her back. She held on to me tight... so tight that we both could have drowned. I then told her calmly to stop holding me else we both will go. Something got into her head and she stopped struggling. It was fine then. If she hadn't stopped I think I would have been in trouble.

Moral of the story- saving damsels from drowning is my thingšŸ˜†

I’ve actually drowned before. I can swim but I have zero stamina, so the likelihood of me getting a cramp mid-ocean and drowning is very high. šŸ˜† I got caught in a rip when I was at the beach once. It was possibly the worst time to swim since the tides were high and the waves were monstrous. I didn’t realise I was in the middle of a rip and tired myself out trying to swim against it. The waves kept pushing me down, even when I tried to float on my back, as I was desperate to get some oxygen. It didn’t work and I gave up. I was sinking down when a man came to my rescue and saved me.

Thank God for strong swimmers like yourself. 🄺

I once saw a video of a girl posting her progress photos. She basically saved up an album of herself getting progressively more overweight. That’s the reality of most of us here who give up on a diet after the second day. šŸ˜†

Oh, I mean maybe they were getting over an ED, but that is unfortunate if weight gain was not intentional šŸ¤”

It does get more difficult as we grow older with other priorities.

Though, the way I look at it is if I care for my health, I can take better care of other things in life too.

Unfortunately we become easily complacent.

The concept of habit stacking was helpful for me to develop better habits.
