I dont know how u guys feel but after reading the book , my respect for snape has incresed by leaps and bounds more than Dumbeldore infact. In this book Dumbeldore was shown to have made mistakes and human But for me the man who inspite of having so much hatred for the man who bullied him and married the gal he loved to death, his loyalty to save the son was just out of the world.

the compromises he must have made would have been like whoa.......awesome

I mean being loyal to Dumbeldore, saving Harry right from the first book and then right through, pretending to be loyal and serving Voldermort yet giving info to Dumbeldore and protecting Harry is just mindblowing and that too with all his contrasting feelings inside for lily, Harry and James.

For me that is the hardest and the bravest part for a man to do and he did it.He earned the hatred from everybody until his last breadth still he was loyal and brave and never once strayed away from his path.

Snape is one of the most respected characters and unique for me from now on.......will always remember his character. For me, he stands out👏

When Harry was with Dumbledore at "King's Cross" in the end (in his mind or whatever), the creature he saw there, was it the future form of Voldemort after his would-be death? When Harry got back and battled Voldy, he told him he had seen what Voldy was going to be like so I deduce it was Voldemort and it makes sense to me since he had ripped his soul in so many parts its kinda hard to imagine it being returning to its original form even after his death. Am I right or wrong?

Btw, I think it wasn't 'King's Cross' where Harry met Dumbledore in the end of the book, was it? I thought cross in "king's Cross" was a metaphor for a cross between two worlds or in another words, a cross between life and death.

Made sense? No? I didn't think so~

Somebody here mentioned that had Harry named one of his sons Sirius, they'd have loved it. I second that and Sirius deserved at least as much. Btw, what's James potter's (Harry's son) middle name? Was it mentioned? Wish its Sirius.

P.S: Risking to sound like a broken round, Albus Severus Potter is adorable~ 🤗 He's officially my most favorite character after Harry and that's saying a lot considering we only got a glimpse of about an hour of his life

Ok I hope you are wrong...I wanted Voldy to be done with for good this time...no more child like or creature like forms for him...

But then again what you say makes sense since the last sentence in the book "and it has not hurt again since then" makes u wonder why Harry says that. I mean if he were certain Voldy is dealt with for good, he would not be worried of the scar anymore right?

Snape is the best example of "the power of love" that Dumbly always talked about. It goes to show that true love can go so far in life for the sake of the loved one. I agree my feelings for Snape did a full 180 degree turn with this book. But somehow it was expected. I had some confidence that my favorite Slytherine wont be that bad.

i think this was wht Jo kept referring to "the power of love"

cuz the best example was snape-his love for lily was greater than his hatred for james.

The scene where snape asks harry to see him so tht he cld catch one glimpse of lilys' eyes made cry alot,😭😭😭

R.I.P Severus Snape😭

@ aastha

the only explanation i thot of was that the horrible baby that was crying was
probably a part of voldemort... cuz wen harry wakes up again, he realizes
that voldemort was just getting up at that time too... and if u remember, in
the 4th book, wormtail carries a similar horrible baby which then is
somewhat reborn as voldemort

I should've been clearer. The presence of that creature which I think is voldemort doesn't mean he is alive in any form in this world. It means his previous deeds i.e. dividing his soul in 7 horcruxes had destroyed him to such an extent that even in another life, he couldn't return to what his original form must have been like. Look at it this way, Harry has seen his parents even after their death several times e.g. in book 4 emerging along with loads of other people killed by voldemort and in book 7, with the help of the resurrection stone. It means even when they're not alive in Harry's world, they do have another life. (Heaven? Anyone?) The Dumbledore that Harry saw at "king's cross" was also in the same form in which he had left the world i.e. as a whole but voldemort's sins and particularly ripping his soul apart has resulted in him being a weird childlike creature that is sort of in agony. Voldemort is dead and never returning to this world (hopefully) but even in another life or eternal life, he's in pain thanks to his deeds in his former life. Hope I made sense.😳

Well, I loved the book!! 😃
But it isn't her best! For me,that place is still held by OotP... 😳

I LOVED the beginning of the book especially!! The whole Durselys Departing chapter...it was sweet the way Dudley comes and thanks Harry...loved this part!
And the Seven Potters..what a hilarious chapter...especially Fred and George's dialgues!! 😆 😆

It was the middle which dragged a bit, with the trio sitting in the tent and stuff....I was literally getting frustarted after a bit, till the appearance of the Doe...loved it the way Ron destroyed the horcrux!! 😃 👏 👏

The end was fabulous 👏 👏 ..I mean, the final battle was amazingly descriebed...the whole Harry-Voldemort face-off 😃 ..one of the best parts of the book...loved it when Harry calls Voldy "Riddle" hahaha 😉 😛 😆 ...take that Mr Tom Riddle!!
But I felt slightly let down the way the deaths were described..I mean, Tonks and Lupin?? Where was the need for them to die? 😭 And just after they had a baby..poor Teddy...and she didn't even tell us how they died..the same with Fred...I was devastated when Fred died...I swear, I can't BEAR to think of the twins seperated 😭 😭 ...and I wish she'd written a another chapter where there was a mourning for those who'd died...it was a bit abrupt the way it just ended...

Dobby's death was another devastating part..the way Harry was described digging the grave..and the whole.."Here lies Dobby, a free elf.." I swear, I sobbed so bad...poor little elf..I loved the cute creature!! 😭 😭 😭
And Hedwig?? The poor owl was killed inside the cage even..at least if she'd been let free, she could've flown away or something...
Even Moody's death was sad...

Parts I loved;

Molly and Bellatrix..hahaha 😆 😆 ...who knew our Mollycoddles turned out to be such a tigress??!! 😛 ! Bella died in shock!!! I wish though that Neville had been the one to kill her..but he got his day too!

-Neville killing Nagini..he deserved this..it was long coming!! 👏

-Ron and Hermione's much much MUCH awaited reuinion 😳 😳 😳 ..I've been waiting for this since book 4..and I swear..it was the cutest most hilarious part in the book!!! 😆 😳 😆 And poor Harry..right in the middle of the war!!

-Voldemort's end..ya, ya..it was obviousely coming..but reading it was so great...evil gone..over, destroyed..kaput!!! 😛

Parts which moved me to tears;

-All the deaths..Fred,Tonks,Lupin,Mad Eye,Dobby,Snape and Hedwig..it was so sad.... 😭 😭 😭

-When Harry is going to sacrifice himself to Voldy, and Sirius,Lupin and his parents come out of the resurrection stone...oh man..I swear it was so sad..specially when Harry aks.."does it hurt?", I cried like anything here...

-Snape's story- I thought it'd be something like this, eyt, it was too tragic..and the way he died was terrible..it just increased my already sky-hi disgust for Voldemort...pathetic..and his last words of "Look..at..me.." just too much...

-Dumbledore's story- I know one thing which this did to me..i felt hurt that dumbledore hid something so big from Harry...it was like, I felt that Harry had the right to know this ...but I'm glad Jo put this in..it shows, noman is perfect...even if he is Albus Dumbledore...

Ok, got to rush now..wil lcome back and add more! 😉

I'd love to know who were the two that weren't originally supposed to die but jkr ultimately decided to kill, were they tonks and lupin? And who was the lucky one to get a reprieve?

Snape, I take my hat off to you. You were indeed one of the bravest ever to have graced the wonder that is Harry Potter's world.

Some grey shades or not, Dumbledore is still the greatest wizard of all times and my respect for him actually multiplied by a hundred folds after reading this book. Being saint-like is another thing, fighting one's darkest desires and faults and achieving greatness is another and Dumbledore deserves accolades for doing the latter. I salute him.
