hey guys.. i have a question to which i can't get a answer..

see snape's mum ( i suppose ) was a witch and his dad ( i suppose ) was a muggle so that means that snape was a half-blood which we all know.. then how come he was in slytherin..??? about voldermort .. well he was the heir of salazar slytherin so therefore he had to be in slytherin whether he is pure-blood or half-blood.. but how snape.. he is kinda related to salazar slytherin or something..???

this has been in my mind for quite sometime.. please help me out with this...it would be great... 😊

well its simple sorting hat sort on the qualities which we have and not on the basis of pure blood remember Sirius black was the only one from pure blood to get in to Gorffindor!!!

Hey its not based upon your blood!(that would be a biased thing to do, wouldn't it?)

It depends on who you are...what you would like to be...how to react to certain situations, what your views are and it also depends, a bit, on your choice...on which house you want to be a part of.

So there's no blood involve but what usually happens is that when you live with ur family since birth...some of their thoughts obv. rub off on you and ofcourse some of their genes are in you. So usually people from the same family(siblings mostly) land up in the same house.

But ther are exceptionslike the Patil twins(who are in different houses even though they are twins) and Sirius and Regulus Black. 😉

ya... thanks for the explanation.. but as far as we have know the sorting hat will not put anyone in slytherin if it's a half-blood or mud-blood.. in harry's case he had some powers of voldermort so the sorting hat gave harry the option of either being in gryffindor or slytherin.. sirius ka intensions were not to go on the adrk side as the rest of his family and therefore he was put in gryffindor.. so do u guys thing tht snape ka mum was involved in some great dark things and snape also had the same intensions and was put in slytherin.. i wanna know coz this question is in my mind for.. centuries 😛

it must be that snape's mum was evil too. and the way voldemort's mum had reacted, it must be the same way snape's mum had reacted.

that's my thought. what are others opinion??? 😃

Well, We don't know that for sure. It was never cleary said in the books or movies that only pure-bloods were taken into Slytherin. Maybe it's the majority, but not all. Snape and Voldemort were muggle-born.

When it comes down to it, it's what's inside. What your intentions are determine which house you belong in. I don't think that think that that the whole pure-blood/muggle-born thing may play a big role it sorting(but it might have a small part, but nothing major).

I don't think that the Slytherin house is truly "evil" or "dark". Just because it churns out more dark wizards than any other house, doesn't mean that everyone who was in Slytherin was evil. I don't think all Death Eaters could be from Slytherin either. Who said that a clever Ravenclaw couldn't be a Death Eeater?
