It is bat bogey hex. becoz that line size is not matter was used in context with Ginny and slughorn was impressed with her after watching her hexing smith

Never seen in action , though i was mentioned,

We never saw Ginny or anyone else use this Hex in the book. The incidents were just narrated to us.

My name it-self will have you cautioned.

It is a Hex' - an offensive/attacking spell as opposed to defensive' spells like Expelliarmus , Expecto Patronum etc ..

So yes, the name ought to caution you.

Grotesque & funny as it may seem ,

The spell turns bogey into bats - grotesque & funny at the same time.

I came in handy when the predicament was dicey.

Ginny used it on Draco when they were held captive in Umbridge's office by the inquisitorial squad which in turn helped Ginny , Luna & Neville escape from there.

Size is no measure of power ,

Ginny -the youngest Weasly girl was indeed a powerful witch.

It impresses not only Ron but Fred and George, who use Ginny as an example of the principle 'size is no guarantee of power'.

I served as a testimony over & over .

Impressing Ron -Fred-George, Impressing Slughorn & thereby getting an entry into the Slug Club' & last but not the least , escape from Umbrigdge's office - instances where this hex served as a testimony to Ginny's power.

Magical , yes I am , though offensive,

It is a spell , it is magical & it is a Hex - an offensive magic.

And yet perceived to be impressive.
