This is probably completely wrong, but Thestral?

We all have it but can easily miss - because are used in the Hogwarts carriages but they are invisible to most ppl,

A secret you will have to know, to very few I show. - Not a secret, But you need to see death; and very few ppl can see them.

Last two lines - no idea. :P Do thestrals get angry when offended like hippogriffs?

Also Avie's guess of Enchanted Galleons also seems possible - We all have this,

yet one can easily miss. - Because everyone has galleons but no one will suspect they are fake.

@Avie - It's probably wrong. My first thought was secret keeper or RoR or some secret passage but they're all wrong; then that "don't offend" made me think of some creatures so that's why I thought of thestrals, but I'm pretty sure they're described as gentle beings in the books.
