😛 Great Chap Vaish! It's a great twist. Poor Sirius-this is something different your giving us an eternal triangle. Poor Amos too-he seems to love Monica but she loves Sirius and Sirius loves her hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ 😛 😛

CHAPTER 6

Sirius stared at her for a moment before turning abruptly and walking away so fast that she couldn't follow him for two steps before she lost him in the crowds. She then helplessly turned to face Lily, tears threatening to flow down her cheeks.

"I'll get Sirius!" said James, jumping into the throng.

"What have you done Mon?" asked Lily.

"What am I supposed to do? I haven't seen Sirius in 6 years and wasn't exactly planning to. And people were dying left and right and I also wanted to live my life before I died. So you don't expect me blow the only proposal I might ever get!"

"Then you shouldn't be confused!"

"How could I not be? I wasn't confused till I met Sirius. But now that I have, I realized that between him and Amos I love him so much more!" she said chocking.

"You will have to choose Monica! It is up to you. Whether to choose or not to choose."

Monica was silent. James came up to them.

"Did you find him?" asked Lily concerned.

"Yes. And Mon, you have to talk to him!"

James took hold of Monica's one hand and Lily caught the other. He led her into the paulor. She entered and her eyes fell on Sirius who was sitting down with his face buried in his hands. HE got up when she came in. He was looking hurt and confused and love-sick. In an impulse she ran towards him and was about to throw her arms around him and kiss him when she saw Amos standing to his side. She looked at him nervously.

"It is you choice now Monica. I am sorry we had to force you to do it this way but this is the best for you!" said James quietly from behind, before closing the door shut behind them.

"Amos…" she started timidly and so quietly that she was surprised that he heard it.

"Monica. Before you say anything… I am putting no pressure on you. It is entirely yoyr choice like James said and you go for whatever your heart says. For that is when you will be really happy in life." he said softly, "it is either me or Sirius." He said holding out two hands to indicate the choices she had.

She took in a deep breath and looked at the two people standing in front of her, her eyes lingering on Sirius for a second longer. She knew who she wanted to choose but she also knew that it would not be fair to her 6 year old relationship with Amos. She looked at him and realized that he had seen the conflict in her head.

"Just do it now Monica. You know you have decided. Just say it…" he whispered.

As is in slow motion, she took away the small ring she was wearing and laid it on Amos' outstreatched palm.

"I am so sorry Amos…" she whispered, her voice breaking. She turned to face Sirius.

"Sirius… I can't even begin to…" he scooped her up before she could complete her sentence and kissed her. She kissed him back passionately, tears finally flowing down her cheeks. She then pulled apart and lay snuggled in his chest, muttering against it.

"I didn't know what… I swear… I didn't mean to…. not deliberately… Amos … sorry…"

At the mention of Amos, Sirius turned his head to see him just about to exit, looking at the ring sadly.

"Amos!" called Sirius.

"Yes?"

"I will never ever forget what you did for us today. You almost gave me my life back. I really owe you one!"

"Well… at least you got my name right!" he said. They all laughed.

"Amos..?" said Monica softly. He looked at her, smiling diminutively.

"I love you!" she said in the same tone.

"I love you too!" he whispered back and left. And this time Sirius was not feeling jealous or angry at the exchange between them.

"I love you Nicky!" he whispered into her hair and pulled her closer.

"I love you too Snuffles!" she choked.

btw - snuffles was the spl nickname mon had for sirius....
