Its never mentioned directly...but in book 3 or book 4 Albus dumbledore tells Harry that his brother, Aberforth was in trouble for doing something to goats. Then in OOTP when Hermione asks all the people to join them in the DA she calls them to the Hog's head and Harry smells goats and has a feeling he knows the barman!

And in J.K.Rowling's interview she confirmed its him and it seems he is very important for book 7!!! 😃 😃 😃
