Craving a touch, a feel
long lost behind the veil.

The cottage was longing for harry to visit it. The front-sign materialized into magical graffiti by witches and wizards for him to touch and feel.

Frost-beaten, gale-washed ...
stark reminder of the swooshed past.

The cottage stood dilapidated. First line brings out the physical and natural damage. Second line brings out the emotional damage for the horror that passed in on 31st Oct.

Dark shadows within with wings
fear not, for here love springs.

Dark memories-the brutal attack of that fateful night continued to float in..but it was also the presence and assurance of Lily's love that seemed to nullify it.

A day will come that will bring you to me

It was waiting for harry to step up to it (cottage) when the time comes...and he did.

a day will come that will bring you near Thee.

This sentence has a deeper sense that it is only love that brings you near God. The cottage emanated love. Moreover great things were expected from Harry and his only powerful weapon he had was the ability to love.

I sing this ballot in one breath...
A toast to the conqueror of death.

The Cottage sings this ballot in remembrance of Harry-the conqueror of death(as he was the true owner of all the three hallows).
