Goldenberg Panel Delayed

A while back we told you about a panel with Michael Goldenberg, scriptwriter for Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, about translating the book to film, and translating Harry Potter in general, that I will be moderating at NYC's Makor Center; it was supposed to occur on Apr. 11 but has been postponed until after filming on movie five is complete, to accommodate Mr. Goldenberg's schedule. It's definitely still in the works, but will most likely be rescheduled for Jan. 2007; we'll update you as soon as we have more!

Order of the Phoenix Countdown Clock and News Reader, for Leaky and You

Yes, it's more than a year away, but we got so many requests that we've made it available early: John Noe has designed an awesome Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix countdown, and for the first time you can take it and put it on your own site, blog, MySpace, whatever. (And in response to emails: yes, a desktop version is forthcoming.) It also doubles as a movie news reader, displaying headlines about the Harry Potter films that bring you to the full article when clicked. Here it is:

J.K.Rowling Interview for Girlguiding Scotland

On May 1, Girlguiding Scotlandwill feature a new series of interviews with "100 Inspirational Women" and Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling is among those on this list. Jo is listed on their website as part of their successful ex members, which also includes others such as actress Dawn Steele (Monarch of the Glen) and Lesley Hinds, who is the Lord Provost of Edinburgh. Girlguiding Scotland is Scotland's largest voluntary organization for girls and young women, and is similar to the Girl Scouts that we have here in the US. We do not know what this new interview with Jo will include, and we will update with more when we can.

Rupert Grint, Phelps Twins Radio Interview Set for April 19

A few days ago, we first told youthat actors Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) and James and Oliver Phelps (Fred & George) were due to be guests on the Jo Whileyradio program. According to the Radio Times website, that interview has now been scheduled for Wednesday, April 19. The Jo Whiley program airs on BBC Radio 1 weekdays starting at 10am. Rupert Grint, and James and Oliver Phelps are currently filming Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which is due to be released in theatres in 2007. Thanks to Pete for the update.

MuggleNet bites back!

Following the Mail on Sunday's criticism of JK Rowling and her article about the skinny-obsessed world, the MuggleNet staff felt that a response was needed to let them know what genuine Harry Potter fans thought about the issue. Live Podcast at Collectormania 9

MuggleNet will be holding a live podcast at Collectormania 9 in Milton Keynes, UK. Collectormania is a massive movie convention taking place between April 28th and May 1st 2006. Among the hundreds of stalls selling all manner of movie merchandise: posters, props, and figurines, plus over thirty guest stars from TV and film to meet fans. Several Harry Potter stars will be attending Collectormania 9, including Robert Pattinson, James and Oliver Phelps, and Afshan Azad (Padma Patil).

Stan Ianevski and Tolga Safer to attend Elf Fantasy Fair

Thanks to Arwen for letting us know that Stanislav Ianevski (Viktor Krum) and Tolga Safer (Karkaroff's aide) will be attending the Elf Fantasy Fair later this month. The fair will be held the 22nd and 23rd of this month in Haarzuilens, Netherlands. Stan will be giving lectures while he is there. Click here for more information.
