I won't lie—I'm disappointed with the turn-out of sonnets. However, the members who have worked and sent in sonnets deserve to be congratulated, and I applaud them. As promised, I'm posting all the sonnets here for your inspection and voting.
The sonnet competition started with inspiration from Ginny's first-year Valentine that she sent to Harry:
His eyes are as green as fresh-pickled toad,
His hair is as black as blackboard,
He's truly divine, I wish he was mine,
The hero who conquered the Dark Lord.
So, based on that, here are the sonnets:
A singing valentine for Ronald Weasley:
I'll buy you dress robes that match your eyes
I'll even make sure that frills they have not
It's not like I am "a catch" based on guys
But, my nose is dead centre, not a facial blot
Cedric Diggory
He has a charming smile
But he lived only for a while
He was a great hero
And made others look zero
Harry Potter
A guy with heart of pure gold
He is fearless and he is bold
He is so brave and loyal until the end
Harry is the one that you can depend
Draco Malfoy
He is clever and very evil
He is the slytherin devil
He has an evil smile
But it only lasts for a while
Emerson Spartz
His wit is as sharp as a knife's end,
His humor is twisted, it cannot further bend
But he's on top of fame, and loving him cannot be a blame,
The hero who owns the Wall of Shame.
Andrew Sims
His humor is as cool as a winter night,
His ideas are bright as a twinkling light
Oh it's gorgeous, the way he says, "Yeah, Alright!"
He's Andrew, and he's completely right.
Dolores Umbridge
Her frills are as annoying as Romilda's giggling
Her tummy, like jello, is always jiggling
She's sick, I wish she would get a kick,
The witch who wrote those Educational Decrees.
Luna Lovegood
If there's one odd one, it's surely her,
She's weird and crazy, and for her life's a blur,
Radish earrings and sectraspecs?
After one meeting with her, you'll be completely perplexed.
