Life without Potter?

I, personally, never imagined a time when I would walk out of the hall after having watched a Harry Potter film and think 'there's never going to be another film now'. I think it's definitely going to be a major reality check when that moment comes. It hasn't sunk in right now. I keep thinking there's always going to be another HP film. *nostalgic*

We can read the books over and over again, and watch the films too, but we're never going to feel the excitement of a new book or a new film releasing, never going to be another line up outside a bookstore to buy the latest book, no more staying up the whole night to get a movie ticket.

Anyone else feeling sad?

I totally hear ya!

It's like they keep on saying that the books are always going to be there to go back and rekindle yourself in to the "Harry Potter" world so wonderfully created by JK Rowling...that there are always going to be Christmas Re-runs of Harry Potter movies...that you can actually walk the halls of Hogwarts or have a cup or two of butter bear at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park...that you're always going to have those websites around and more...BUT the genuine excitement that comes with the release of the books and the movies will be missing.

it is indeed quite a bittersweet anticipation--- a huge part of you is so very excited for July 15th...but then there's this teeny part within your head that is anticipating the walk out of the movie theater after having watched the final movie-- and that is definitely emotional in a strange sort of way.

It just struck me. Like, I'm totally NOT ready for Harry Potter to end. I was on tumblr, and i kept re-blogging all these premiere events and stuff, and then i was like, wait, its DH2. That means it's the last one. Honestly, I was trying to tell myself, it's okay, you can buy the dvd's and rewatch them again. But its sooo different ! I'm seriously not even willing to think that after watching the very last movie, I won't be comnig back to the theater again to watch the next HP movie cause there won't be a next :/ . Why does it have to end ? 😭

For the last 10 years or so, HP has been a HUGE part of my life. I have never gotten so attached to a book series. There's just something magical about J.K. Rowling's writing that it never gets old. It's very hard to imagine a time where there's no more new HP stuff. I guess when the books ended, we still had the movies to look forward to..but now that's coming to an end too.
I watched the London premiere today. It kinda sunk in how this is it..the very last one. No more new movies/books to look forward to. No more anticipation/ that excitement for something new. No more midnight premieres, lining up at the movie theater/bookstore for the book...I guess it really is time for me to grow up--my childhood is coming to an end even if it already did legally..
I hate ends/goodbyes. It's gonna be so bittersweet. LOL I feel like I'll start crying at the title itself 😆

RES.

I will reply to this tomorrow. But I agree. I can't imagine a life without Harry Potter. 😔

I grew up with it. Started reading it when I was 11 & now I am 17. Ironical much? 😊
I couldn't even sleep properly, so am back online, editing this. When I used to go to school in 5th-6th grade there used to be numerous girls and gals reading the HP books. I however, refused to read them then thinking that I wont read a book about a BOY wizard.
But when I was around 11 I was sick and happened to watch the first movie on Pogo. I loved it instantly. I was so drawn to Harry's world. I went to the school library and borrowed a battered copy of Philosophers Stone and read it ASAP.
My birthday was arriving soon, so my cousins, grandparents and parents, all together got me HP books 2-5. I was enthralled. I read them as fast as I could, and felt myself getting pulled more and more into the Harry's world. I went to see the third film in the theatre with my cousins that year.
The next year Goblet of Fire released and I went for it with my family and friends on the first day. HP is a super craze here, in Hyderabad. :) Then in 2007 the final book was coming out. I had pre-ordered it, and me, along with my best friend went to the store early morning, got our books and got to work.
I was in tears throughout. I kept crying. When each person died I cried so bad (except Bella, Voldy, Wormtail). Even then I was calmed down, there were still so many films left. It's not all over.
Life without Potter was always lurking around the corner, but there was still one more film. Except now that there WONT be another film. It's all over. And I hate to accept it. I am having tears in my eyes while writing this.
It's like...it's like someone close to me is passing away or something. I hate this. But yet, I love HP. I love the books, I love the films. I don't want to imagine a life without Potter.
I'll be pretty lonely without the boy who lived and his two best friends. They had become a part of my life.

OMG same here! I never even realized it! 😲 Aww this is gonna make me cry :(

But yes, I agree with chocolover89- when the books ended, I was sad to say the least, but I thought that since there were more movies to come I'd be ok. But we won't even have that anymore :(

The magic of Harry Potter will never leave my heart. It's become an irrevocable and irreplaceable part of me. I am gonna be a bawling baby on July 15th :( But one thing's for sure- I'm gonna stuff HP down the throats of my kids in the future 😆 They better like it or else! 😡😆

This soundtrack is so haunting. Makes you feel like something epic and phenomenal is finally concluding. I can't describe this in words *gulps*
