| Half-Blood Prince best seller of 2005 |
| Selling over 4.1 million copies on the day of its release alone, Half-Blood Prince topped the list of the best-selling novels of 2005. The sixth adventure beat out every other book that was on sale for the entire year, according to a report released today by Reuters and Nielsen's BookScan. | Italian HBP fans get novel early |
| Salani, the Italian book publisher, isn't happy--but eager Potter fans definitely were thrilled. Several book stores throughout Rome, Italy, and surrounding areas released the books a few hours early in order to shut down before the holiday. Salani is very upset with this behavior and had this to say: "It's true. There are some people who have betrayed the pact, and so measures will be taken against them," it said, explaining that guilty stores could lose their right to sell Harry Potter books. "We stipulated a written accord with bookshops on the sales ban," it said. "We feel it is our duty to protect the relationship of trust we have with our readers and to defend their rights with regard to promises made, especially where children are concerned," it added. | GOF DVD coverage: BBFC lists approved features |
We now have our first look at a few extras that will be included on the Goblet of Fire DVD scheduled for release in early March. The British Board of Film Classification posted their ratings on extras that will be included on the DVD disc:

| Stan Ianevski Bulgarian Personality of the Year |
| The Sofia News Agency writes: Bulgarian-born Stanislav Ianevski, who stars in the latest Hollywood blockbuster Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, became winner in SNA's Personality of the Year poll in the Entertainment category with 72% of the votes. After Ianevski fans stormed the website in his support, he ended up 544 votes ahead of the first runner-up in the poll - conceptual artist Christo (10%). Thanks, Jevitt! |

| GOF High-Def DVD release date |
| Warner Bros has announced that the Goblet of Fire High-Definition DVD will be released on April 11th. These special discs will only play in HD-DVD Players and HD Television sets. We still do not know the release date of the regular DVD versions (rumored to be March 7th), but we'll let you know once the official announcement is made. Thanks to everyone who e-mailed! |
