Film Synopsis:

Based on the Novel "December Boys" by Michael Noonan (1960) December Boys is a coming of age story about a group of four adolescent orphans who are all born in the same month. The orphans, who are best friends, leave their orphanage for a holiday by the sea. The boys learn of a rumor about two of the seaside residents, who are unable to fall pregnant, possibly adopting one of the orphans.

As the boys compete to become the "most adoptable" by the residents with hopes to gain a real family, tension rises among the orphans severely testing their friendships. "Maps" (Daniel Radcliffe) has to make the choice between 'growing up' and staying big brother to the other lads. The film is described as a small independent Australian film.

Novel Summary:

** Webmaster's Note: We will not be loading any summary of the novel itself. While the novel may be informative, Dan is NOT in the novel. We believe that loading a summary of the novel itself could distort perception of the outcome of the film. We just don't want fans to spend too much time "speculating" details of the novel and then be surprised by the film's final product or Dan's portrayal of the character as compared to the novel. In other words, we want to keep our focus on the film only. We've only loaded the Novel's Information in case you want to pursue reading it.

"He can step into any role and deliver a brilliant performance."

"We are thrilled that Daniel has chosen it as his next starring vehicle and are eager to commence production."

"Radcliffe's availability drove the timing of the shoot and his family was very mindful of his next career move, his security and education."

From Actress Teresa Palmer:

"It is a bit daunting because he's such a huge star," Teresa says. "It is amazing - even though he is four years younger than me!

"(His involvement) is going to be so beneficial for the film."

"It's really amazing that Daniel has been attached to the project because he's got so many fans around the world and they will be keen to see what he's like in a film outside the Harry Potter series."

"a great guy, surprisingly mature, and really funny"
