Welcome to our next...

And the question is.... If you could bring back only one of Harry's parents... just one.... who would you prefer to bring back and why? Lily.... or James? Have fun discussing!

And I honestly could never decide, but I'll have to say Lily...not because I dislike James, but because all the Marauders have died away, and James would be sort of lonely if he was brought back to life. Not only that, I think Harry need's a mother's love😳

But really...it's a very hard choice, very very very hard choice!

I agree, I'll bring back Lily, although I really like James character, I think that Harry wold have benefitted more from the nuturing love only a mother can give.

Nice question

I would bring back lily not because i dislike James but i can't see James being able to live with out Lily. Every time we've seen James, it was always Lily this, Lily that.

I'm not seeing Lily doesn't love him as much as he loves her but i can see Lily dealing it better with. And as MusicalAishwarya said all his brothers (marauders) are dead.

Wow, seems like Lily's winning. It really is a hard choice as everyone said.

I think I would choose Lily too, for the reasons that everyone already said. James loved Lily too much to be separated from her (not saying that Lily didn't), and with the death of Sirius and Remus, it would be hard for him to cope with life once again with only Harry. Also, the Wizarding World as he knew it totally changed in the end. I'm not sure he would be happy coming back to life with all those he knew and loved dead.

Lily on the other hand, loved James a lot too, and would also feel the pain of separation from him keenly, but she seemed of a more mature type with the ability to cope with her feelings and concentrate on Harry's upbringing to divert herself from depressing thoughts.

One other reason I had: It seemed to me that from OotP and so on, Harry had a hard time dealing with the new "arrogant" image of his father Snape's memory(s) had given him. He saw James through the eyes of his enemy, but other than Sirius and Remus's reassuring words, Harry needed reassurance that his father was not an arrogant bullying toerag, but someone who changed into a loving, loyal, and compassionate person. I think Lily, his mother, would be the best to give him his reassurance. She knew James as both the arrogant person and the loving person, unlike Snape, Sirius, and Remus, who only basically saw one side of him.

Lily would be able to tell Harry of the transition of personalities that James underwent, so that Harry would be able to appreciate the effort his dad gave to become a better person, therefore gaining the love of the one person who was most important to him. Harry would love his father more that way, and actually relate to him more than how he knew of him before: either as the perfect person, or an arrogant toerag.
