I'm very behind in watching Gustakh Dil, but the storyline isn't holding me at the moment, I would have rather had Laajo who was an adept student in sciences carry on in that way and fulfill her potential as a doctor, respected profession, and don't like that she's wasted in the entertainment business.
She was adept at dance, classical dance with Anuradha, Nikhil's aunt at the village too, but I feel by making her way as a professional dancer she's seeking Nikhil's mum's help again, as she helps Sagar find Laajo sponsors so therefore defeats the challenge for me, others may feel differently that Barka having to help Laajo now when she doesn't like her against her will as she has pledged her support to Sagar is a good thing, but for me Laajo was supposed to make it on her own and Barka to swallow her reservations and take her into her house.

hey my dear barkha never helped laajo, she ruined or tried to ruin her good friend sagar just to make laajo be unsuccessful so laajo wont tak eher help
but I agree with u doctor was better but makers had to show melodrama ,hence that also story started from Bengali version and Bengali's in general have a great love for art and culture and rabinder sangeet and dance is part of their heritage so they basically adapted from that only.
now even now they should sh2o this was just to get barkha's support and eventually she should let go of show bizz, which I think she will ,as she wont go to act in films etc..so lets watch and see.
though me too wish they show after all this fame all laajo wants is to write her entrance exam for med school and get admitted in AIIMS or some other medical college in Delhi, it would be good message...

Once I also discussed the same what was the need to show her as a dancer as a rockstar a doctor was much more suitable with the storyline.

Oh is that what happened, I agree with you, I hope that's the direction they will take, as why show her dream is to be a doctor, show her aptitude for sciences and how the villagers were turned to accept her a female to study sciences and all of a sudden to settle for some other profession when the way for her career to be a doctor is not closed. I really hope they go down the route we all hope for.

I would have loved her as a doctor but it would have definitely taken long time. They may skip few years in between and showed us the first and last year , her struggle and all .
but i am happy with the current track as well. honestly my father and bro is a doctor and i should not say this but to become a doctor and a successful doctor is a huge difference. But with the current track lajjo has become almost successful. which matter the most to Barkha and Lajjo's Swabhiman!!

I don't mind if they show a leap, they can show her studies and completion in one year taking a leap of 6 or 7 years but least don't change her career pathway, I would rather they do that then showing all these wardrobe malfunctions, dancing and backbiting of other dancers on her, such not useful things, in the grand scheme of things.
I like what happened at the village when she returned back her helping as a compounder and her interest in medicine and helping Samrat Uncle with his diabetes or heart problem, and above all the villagers which were so against girls studying further and burning her books and managing to turn their thinking around, the epidemic they had at the village that the village doctor managed to crack and how they treated the people there. It was awesome. Taking up dance now is a big let down.

I think nafisa to show becoming doctor might have been less glamourous from serial point of view , so this was quick way to get some fame, grooming etc,bec even doctors some times speak different village accents so here she got chance to groom herself...studying medicine is tough for 5-6 years u don't even bother about ur clothes and it is all about studies so to keep glamour in story they did it, I understand where they came from but I would want them to take that path of studies too..as it is imp social message from story point of view...I would be happy that when they end the show instead of showing laajo and nik expecting their child together they could show laajo going into medical college ...or even in between they can show them estranged and then laajo becoming doctor in between ...so hope for doctor track to show up but if we go by Bengali version then they never bothered with it😭

I agree with you Sami, the cvs obviously chose the short cut route to stardom which they knew would appeal to masses more, specially the story of the underdog (in a sense) who rises to fame is always more attractive than a village girl becoming a doctor! But it's also sending the wrong message. Education is the way forward not modelling! I mean there's nothing wrong with modelling but I would have thought becoming a professional is more in line with what a family would like in a daughter in law than a model isn't it?

tragedy is hema barkha is unreasonable one here, a regular r mother in law would have accepted laajo doing a small dance show and then settle as society bahu and page 3 celebrity but here she is hell bent to take away any happiness from her son's life...hence laajo's extra ordinary steps... but I agree education is important and laajo should continue her education so many more can be inspired from this...
