Is Nikhil adopted?

The way he was talking to his mom , it seems he was adopted?

Does his (step)mother even love him?

is he? I just thought his mom can't come to love because the older son died.

No Nikhil is not adopted, they showed on the initial episodes that Nikhil and Barkha don't have a loving mother-son relationship, she blames him for her elder son's death and has never moved on and Nikhil too since childhood has always felt neglected by his mom

In case Nikhil is adopted also a foster mom cannot behave in that manner. It is clearly shown that she hates him as she lost her other son. She cannot blame him because it was an accident. She commits so many mistakes and she also is to be blamed for all that. In case Dadaji is brought to the scene and he shouts at her for the way she is dressing, the way she doesn't respect her FIL etc. etc. then she will realise her mistake and start taking care of her son and DIL. Probably the show has started now and there is a long way to go and one fine day some scenes will crop up. Definitely Lajjo has to leave the house and teach Nikhil and her MIL a lesson that she is not dependant on them and can live on her own. She should not go to Sonbarsa also. She should stay as a PG in someone's house, work for her livelihood and come out successfully. This will send a good message to young Ladies (like Lajjo in real life) and will learn something. me too want this story line...I want her to try for entrance exam to medical school and win the admission with scholarship---it will be ultimate tribute to thousands of lajo's of rural India who are as intelligent as their city kins but are waiting for opportunities...I want some social message in this show...going back to sonbursa wont be a progressive storyline at all

Its weird the way he talks to Barkha is as of he is not her biological son

his wording was like ..your mad cause your son died...and then Nikhil should have died instead...?

BTW, I found Nikhil's facial expressions odd during that whole speech..he looked like he was laughing

sometimes he nails scenes and other times he is really off
