I WANT TO BE A director Television hottie Ashish Sharma talks about daily soaps,movies and that special someone in his life Shruti Jambhekar For a Jaipur youngster to bag a film with filmmaker Dibaker Banerjee is no mean feat.After essaying an important role in last years sleeper hit,Love,Sex aur Dhokha (LSD),Ashish Sharma shot to celebdom as Avdesh Singh in the TV show Gunahon Ka Devta.From theatre,films to television,this 24-year-old hunk seems to manage everything with ease.Ahmedabad Times gets chatty with Ashish when he was in town to promote his show Chandragupta Maurya where he plays the protagonists role. Ask him about his journey in the glam-world,and he shares,I was always passionate about acting.As a part of a theatre group (in Jaipur) doing a course in acting was a given.After that I came to Mumbai and had my share of innumerable auditions for almost six months.Post that,Anupam Kher recommended me to Dibaker (Banerjee) for LSD,and since then I have been lucky to be doing the kind of work I wanted to. His future aspirations I would love to work behind the camera 10 years down the line.Direction is something that interests me.Even while shooting,I always have conversations with the director to get a better understanding of shooting technicalities, says Ashish. Talking about his small screen experience,Ashish says,Working on television is much more stressful than working for a movie.The pace of work is relaxed while shooting a movie. Ashish whos just signed up two more films has a no disclosure pact and cant talk about the projects. While lifes a social whirl,Ashish confesses to enjoying every bit of it and says that he cherishes each trip to Jaipur now.Ive landed in Ahmedabad from Jaipur only.I took a one week break after almost one whole year to be with my parents.I had great homemade food,visited my favourite places there and am already feeling recharged. This is his second visit to Ahmedabad,but Ashish,like most telly stars on a days trip is unlikely to get time to explore much in the city.The look of the city is quite similar to Jaipur.I feel good when I come to Ahmedabad, he says. During his leisure,Ashish enjoys,watching movies,reading Hindi literature and working out in the gym. Does he have a special someone in his life And he replies with a blush,I do have someone special.We have been together for the last eight years and she is stays in Mumbai.We always look forward to travelling together to Goa or some place near Mumbai whenever we have some free time.
