No he was married. And the story goes that chanakya used to poison CG's food with small amounts of poison so that he could become resistant to it & would not be poisoned by enemies.
One time CG's wife , when she is pregnant, shares his food with him & dies. In fact chanakya is said to have torn open the queen's stomach to save the baby. The baby is Bindusara who also becomes a great king when he grows up.
And CG is supposed to have taken sanyas in the jain tradition after his son takes over from him.

thanks for the post, I would love to see Ashish on screen again. I will miss seeing him everyday but I can still see the old episodes.

I don't watch CGM regularly just once in a while. I am interested in history but don't like to watch historical serials on TV. The TV people dramatize things too much & add a lot of mirch masala so that you don't know what is fact & what is fiction. So for history , I prefer reading books & the educational channels like Discovery or History channel .

So I don't think I will be watching CGM regularly even if it has Ashish. So for me GKD khatam, Avdesh khatam 😭😭
