In a way - its not so significant either - unless, it is the means to dig out Durgesh chapter - but except that, Kesar having known it can't be passed in a blurwith the greater happenings. Although I personally raised this point one of the other days, of how unfair it is for Gulaal to be punished but not Kesar for hiding the same truth (when even the motives, Gulaal's for family welfare, and Kesar only for Gulaal's sake show favor for Gulaal) but fact is, Kesar has never been at the pedestal where Dushyant or Gulaal were - he can never be as much a fallen angel, as those two - because at no point so far has he been the ideal heir. Even his reform has been overshadowed by the preceding part of his impulsive blunders... and has has only been perceived as him in the making up phase now. And really, although his reason is the most trivial of all - anyone and everyone in that house would be willing to buy and even live with the fact that Kesar hid the truth after learning it, for Gulaal's sake, on her bidding - another finger raised against her hence! Because everyone knows, Kesar would never say no to Gulaal! And no one would imagine Kesar having wanted to save Dushyant - considering he's the one responsible now for bringing out the truth, with such vengeance!

So yes - unless the how Kesar came to know chapter will be linked to bring back DUrgesh, I think this little detail will be easily passed.

@jze ya MB,PB ve many hopes on gulaal n dushy.they trusted them n seen tham has their ideal, loyal heirs of the family. they trust was shattered. this effected them more. they didn't ve any hopes on kesar till now,so didn't effect them much. it may rise or just a passe may be.
till there is durgesh showdown ve to see, how they bring it.

Liked this epi - not as much as yesterday's one but it was a really good follow up from yesterday's confrontation.
Indeed it was Dushy's epi today. His genuine repentance was highlighted - from his refusal to look MB in the eyes to his downfall at MB's feet to his silent acceptance of this brutal beating to him talking to vasant's pic to finally surrendering himself to police - all of course well done by SS. I will feel sad if no one will acknowledge his redemption but ending his chapter like this is a bittersweet end which I quite appreciate too.
Did feel for JK as well. Even though she knows the crime her son committed was an unforgivable one (hence her not trying to block Dushy's out of MB's wrath) she can't help but be a shattered mother who can't bear her son's sorrows and dreadful fate. She simply couldn't help herself from trying to keep her son from it, so much that even though she knows she can't possibly ask a favor for her son from MB after what came in light, she's still not ashamed to go on her knees and beg mercy. It will be interesting to see if JK will finally see the errors of her way and stop her schemes.
No matter what but today certainly put a strain on the family's possible unity. The camera zooming on Kesar at the time JK was pleading MB shows us that he has finally sensed what exact repercussions this revelation will have on his family. How do you live with the knowledge that one side ripped the other of one son 😕 Maybe that what's in store for us now. How Kesar will try to reunite the family and thus fulfilling, at last, what will be now Vasant's, Gulaal's and his own dream...
On a side note count me in in the 'I want the old PB back' club. I can't seem to connect with this new one :(
PS: Feel for you too JZephyr 😆 Hope your laptop problem will come to a satisfactory resolution soon! My god I don't know what I would do without a computer and an internet connexion...well actually I do know how excruciating it can be, had to go throught it for one whole month once ...hmm let's say it is not an experience I'd like to go throught again...

This was indeed an incredibly powerful episode. And I am glad that finally along came an episode that allowed the serial to showcase the histrionic skills of some immensely experienced and talented actors . This one story thread (Dushyanth's redmption -family closure) has been in the offing for a long time and I was so very curious about how the CVs would close it. I am of course saddened that SS will be leaving the show shortly. Even in the sidelines of many of the episodes, Dushyanth was a character and SS an actor who had immense screen presence during the serial. Motaba has finally awakened and it is a joy to watch MJ act. JK's character in this episode was suddenly somebody who tugged at your heartstrings - becuase no matter how evil and conniving she has been shown as- her love for children has been above reproach - again FD is an amazingly telented actress and I wonder why I had not heard of her before this serial. In the entire episode, NB and MP had no lines but their quicksilver change of expressions that was captured by the camera was again laudable. Repeatedly through this serial I have been reminded that the camera though silent has so very effectively played the role of a "Sutradhar" (background narrator)...

What an episode! it was an out and out Dushyant's episode. Superb acting by him and even my MB and Jamna Kaki. Gripping from start to end. That's what I call a well-done show. From the pre-cap it seems as though we are in for some more gripping episodes. Kudos to the whole team of Gulaal for giving us a show which we will remember fro a long time to come. Lets see how this affects KG relationship now.

WOW is probably not the word, but I can't think of any better! This is what we get, with a thoughtful team of CVs and writers, coupled with such a talented fleet of actors - each outdoes the other in performance, and each dialog of a showdown is scripted in completed human grey - so that realistically you can't just point out and draw the divide between the black people and white people! If only TV shows were to look up to this show in example and follow the cue! Showdowns are not between halos and horns! Reality is grey - the human grey - and how perfectly it was executed in the entire episode today - after the height of showdown part 1 yesterday, the momentum did not fall for one second...! EGJACTLY! There is no black and white in this show (barring Raman who is just a selfish creature). Dushyant made a huge mistake which he has been regretting everyday, Kesar is now understanding the repercussions of his outburst and Gulaal's decision to hide this fact is coming back to haunt her even though she did it with all the right intentions.

I'm utterly in awe, and if these opening two days are anything to go by, all I'll do this week is gush - coherent analysis might be hard to come by!

Of course, the day belonged to Dushyant (and not Gulaal just yet as we had imagined) and how fair were the CVs to give an entire episode in ode to a character like his - truly deserving! Close up in prominence was MB of course - and yet again, between Manoj Joshi and Sushant Singh - impossible to call out one favorite! 👏 I love the subtleties of this show - even in the middle of such heavy duty, heart wrenching drama! The way MB went on to cup Dushyant's face in urging, his dialog tu mera bea hai ... beta hai tu mera... when placed in comparison with the way he had hit that stunner of a slap across Kesar's face yesterday was such an excellent sense of symbolism! Kesar getting hit = MB in denial; Dushyant being held in desperate plea of love and urged as beta = MB trying in vain to grasp at the last thread of hope... giving it all just to hear one word of evidence against the truth that is inevitably beginning to sink in! One word, and it would all be right, Kesar could be told off one more time for being the reckless irresponsible son and given a pep talk and Dushyant could be looked up to as the elder son of the household who can take care of everyone and everything and all would go back to being its usual self, no hard feelings, brothers hug and make up, and scene wrapped as just one of those eventful mornings when peace is slightly swayed, but no biggie! MB's last futile attempt in getting but a word of assurance from Dushyant, so he can put this behind and pretend like it never happened! After all, this is a house which has seen some rough chapters amongst its members... just another, right?! Kesar has never been put on that pedestal so MB and others automatically put him in the wrong. Even though MB didn't think Kesar was lying completely, he still slapped him while Dushyant got a caressing touch. Whatever he would say, MB would believe. Such a difference!

But no - Dushyant cannot give him that word. Sushant Singh in reliving the horror episode of his life was like watching poetry in motion - something like sonnet out of Shakespeare's saddest works! For a moment there, I could believe Dushyant reliving that memory was just as painful as Gulaal or Kesar. In a different way, his pain of that memory is as vast and deep as their own! And in a way, he too has spent 10 years of his life trying to bury it in vain! Sushant was so bloody amazing, I have no words to describe how brilliantly he brought that pain to surface.

Again, the subtlety of expressions - I like how Giga nearly does not shed a tear ... his loss may almost be more than MB at this second given Dushyant is now the long running image of a villain and Vasant is the martyr being hailed to all over again, but can we really compare and pick?! JK and PB are their respective distraught pictures - oh if only we had the old actress playing PB in these scenes! The new one is such a damper - I just have to pretend I can't see how shallow her expressions are - anyway, JKL was fantab! Her outburst... her unhesitating begging and imploring for Dushyant... while I see where she comes from, she's one character my heart can't go out to, because everytime I look at Dushyant's misery - I can only find her to blame! I'm still hoping someone will tell her that one of these days - she's the one who called doom upon their fates!

When JK falls to the floor the way Giga and Sudha rush to her, while Talli, Gulaal, MB PB and Kesar stand away supporting their own sides... you can see the family rift is already distinct! The lines have been drawn. Interestingly, SF looks like she will remain neutral - even though she's just as broken - she's the only quarter of sense I expect in the house, to show sense to the emotionally unnerved and unhinged elders MB and PB... But that's for later...

When Dushyant revealed the truth about Gulaal having known all along - he framed his defense in all the wrongs words... sentence after sentence came in perfect order to provoke the parents' of the deceased son! Additionally, the moment his first words were spoken at that point, they showed everyonhe's face - including Talli - but not Kesar... I'd have looked up to see his reaction first... but I reckon the idea is, he doesn't figure it the same second - the consequences that will befall Gulaal. Its only when MB turns towards her, that Kesar slips from his stationary witness spot and moves to Gulaal's aid. He doesn't begin to say much yet... but you can see his defense is instant! So we know he's not going to waste time over any unnecessary wallowing before siding up with her - the precap shows just as much (groans about new PB again) Yes! Neither Kesar nor Dushyant really understood the consequences of this confession. It's only when MB moved towards Gulaal that Kesar automatically slipped in to the protective mode. I'm going to try and ignore PB today and just concentrate on GK!😛

On that note - I thought Dushyant's words to the inspector were very promising to me as a viewer... when he says that they still haven't found how the accident itself happened... but he himself is to blame for robbing Vasant of the chance to maybe just survive... The mention of unknown accident circumstances, and consequent camera zoom in towards Kesar to me was a hint, that we will in fact witness the chapter of entire truth unfolding... So just maybe Durgesh chapter isn't all closed... and Raman chapter - as Ganga pointed out in my other post - can still easily come to fore with the Deed that Dushyant had in his possession after clearing Raman's debt. I don't want the show to end without Kesar knowing both, Raman's real face, and Dushyant's genuine reform. At this point - as was evident today from all the showing of Kesar's expressions when MB charged at Dushyant - Kesar feels a mix of justice and disgust and emotional upheaval in general, to which will be added the Gulaal crisis tomorrow! But he has not an inkling of feeling for Dushyant or his reform - something that Gulaal does, even though the would has been opened up again, the pain has inundated her, the time of Dushyant's words to JK, and otherwise - Gulaal's expressions do not hold 'disgust' for Dushyant... he is responsible for her plight, and she will never get over that... but unlike Kesar she has seen the evolution of a decade in him... and can't 'hate' his guts like that anymore! The camera zooming up on Kesar's confused expression definitely means that the story isn't over. I wish Dushyant didn't protect Raman especially when he SAW him slip out while Kesar was throwing these accusations!

All in all - another brilliant day's affair ... The way they keep the momentum consistent, and keep the showdown coming, is parts, yet so connected and coherent with not one thread lost - 👏 kudos to the CVs... and so much to the actors!

Is this the last of Sushant Singh?! 😒

ps: Oh I hate desktops... and want my lappie back 😔

xx

I think we need one more scene with Kesar appreciating the goodness of Dushyant otherwise it will be left incomplete :(

Hope you get your laptop back soon!!

I don't know if Gulaal will actually leave the house BUT I do hope that if she does...Kesu finds her diaries. This is the perfect time for those diaries to be read because then the family will actually find out why Gulaal did what she did. I don't know if it is important but I suppose the diaries will also reveal that Dushy did not do all this for the factory or the money or anything materialistic but that he killed Vasant to get Gulaal.

Poor Kesu, the realization of what he had done dawned on his face when MB turned to question Gulaal. That unfortunately is just the beginning and tomorrow he will feel the real impact of the can of worms he has opened.

I felt really really bad for MB today. In essence, he is head of the family for namesake only. I was thinking of all the decisions the younger generation have taken without consulting MB and I could understand his frustration on being the last person to find things out. Took me back to the day he had lectured Gul and Kes...when Kesar said...MB, you have been sick for the past couple of days, MB replied - "beemaar thaa, mar toh nahi gaya thaa na? Jis din Gulaal ne tere saath DV kiyaa us din bhi main beemaar thaa aur aaj tune DV toda, toh abh bhi mai beemar hoo! DV was done and broken without his knowledge, Kesar agreed to marry Talli and then he decided to cancel the wedding halfway (again MB was just a bystander), Dushy paid dowry without his knowledge, Dushy paid Raman's gambling debt without his knowledge, Gulaal and Kesar knew that Dushy had murdered Vasant...again MB was kept in the dark...

I hope this is not the last we see of Dushy...I hope MB forgives him...

I know what you mean but I'm not putting any hopes on the diary coming back for some reason. Personally, I'd rather have Gulaal tell Kesar everything. Plus Gulaal technically has to leave after 1-2 months anyway so maybe Kesar will convince them to let her stay till then?!

I felt that desperation in Kesar's voice in the precap while he was trying to take Gulaal away from all this. It's going to be really interesting to see what he does to protect her!

So true about MB always being in the dark about all these things :( The murder, the DV being formed and then broken, K-T marriage being fixed without his approval. Without realizing, Gulaal has made things far more complicated for herself and everyone else.

Well I guess they gonna bring Durgesh angle..he may be the one who gave final blow to Vasant..coz Vasant's body was never recovered ..it cannot vanish from river just like that. Since Durgesh's men were behind the accident and they also saw Dushyant pushing Vasnt into river..so its highly possible durgesh made an oppurtunistic attack...ek teer se dho nishaan but all his plans fell flat when gulaal forgave dushy...
so somewhere i think they will show Kesar exploring the truth..do we have enought time left for it ?
i mean how can they wrap the show at this peak time ?

Yeh they must bring Durgesh back now. The show cannot finish with the family and Kesar living with the assumption that Dushyant's past 10 years were a farce.

Reemz: I remember the SP article said that Gulaal will be asked to leave the house, she will try to explain her reasons but PB and MB will not want to listen to her at all. I don't think Kesar even needs any explanations, he will stand by Gulaal. However, if she does leave the house, I can imagine a scenario where MB will wander into her room and chance upon the diaries...

If Gulaal is banished from the house without a say, I doubt Kesar will be in any position to explain why she did what she did to his parents. After all they will be pretty angry at him too...the diaries are the only way I see MB finding out the whole truth. Anywho, lets see what the CV's have in mind...as always, they won't disappoint us! 😊

If she does have to leave then I wish Kesar follows her. I know he has to be there for his parents but seeing as though we don't have much time left, I want to see as much KG as possible which is why I don't think they will keep the 2 apart now. He has to be WITH her in her 'dukh and taqleef'

Let's wait and see what happens today ;)
