WOW is probably not the word, but I can't think of any better! This is what we get, with a thoughtful team of CVs and writers, coupled with such a talented fleet of actors - each outdoes the other in performance, and each dialog of a showdown is scripted in completed human grey - so that realistically you can't just point out and draw the divide between the black people and white people! If only TV shows were to look up to this show in example and follow the cue! Showdowns are not between halos and horns! Reality is grey - the human grey - and how perfectly it was executed in the entire episode today - after the height of showdown part 1 yesterday, the momentum did not fall for one second...! EGJACTLY! There is no black and white in this show (barring Raman who is just a selfish creature). Dushyant made a huge mistake which he has been regretting everyday, Kesar is now understanding the repercussions of his outburst and Gulaal's decision to hide this fact is coming back to haunt her even though she did it with all the right intentions.
I'm utterly in awe, and if these opening two days are anything to go by, all I'll do this week is gush - coherent analysis might be hard to come by!
Of course, the day belonged to Dushyant (and not Gulaal just yet as we had imagined) and how fair were the CVs to give an entire episode in ode to a character like his - truly deserving! Close up in prominence was MB of course - and yet again, between Manoj Joshi and Sushant Singh - impossible to call out one favorite! 👏 I love the subtleties of this show - even in the middle of such heavy duty, heart wrenching drama! The way MB went on to cup Dushyant's face in urging, his dialog tu mera bea hai ... beta hai tu mera... when placed in comparison with the way he had hit that stunner of a slap across Kesar's face yesterday was such an excellent sense of symbolism! Kesar getting hit = MB in denial; Dushyant being held in desperate plea of love and urged as beta = MB trying in vain to grasp at the last thread of hope... giving it all just to hear one word of evidence against the truth that is inevitably beginning to sink in! One word, and it would all be right, Kesar could be told off one more time for being the reckless irresponsible son and given a pep talk and Dushyant could be looked up to as the elder son of the household who can take care of everyone and everything and all would go back to being its usual self, no hard feelings, brothers hug and make up, and scene wrapped as just one of those eventful mornings when peace is slightly swayed, but no biggie! MB's last futile attempt in getting but a word of assurance from Dushyant, so he can put this behind and pretend like it never happened! After all, this is a house which has seen some rough chapters amongst its members... just another, right?! Kesar has never been put on that pedestal so MB and others automatically put him in the wrong. Even though MB didn't think Kesar was lying completely, he still slapped him while Dushyant got a caressing touch. Whatever he would say, MB would believe. Such a difference!
But no - Dushyant cannot give him that word. Sushant Singh in reliving the horror episode of his life was like watching poetry in motion - something like sonnet out of Shakespeare's saddest works! For a moment there, I could believe Dushyant reliving that memory was just as painful as Gulaal or Kesar. In a different way, his pain of that memory is as vast and deep as their own! And in a way, he too has spent 10 years of his life trying to bury it in vain! Sushant was so bloody amazing, I have no words to describe how brilliantly he brought that pain to surface.
Again, the subtlety of expressions - I like how Giga nearly does not shed a tear ... his loss may almost be more than MB at this second given Dushyant is now the long running image of a villain and Vasant is the martyr being hailed to all over again, but can we really compare and pick?! JK and PB are their respective distraught pictures - oh if only we had the old actress playing PB in these scenes! The new one is such a damper - I just have to pretend I can't see how shallow her expressions are - anyway, JKL was fantab! Her outburst... her unhesitating begging and imploring for Dushyant... while I see where she comes from, she's one character my heart can't go out to, because everytime I look at Dushyant's misery - I can only find her to blame! I'm still hoping someone will tell her that one of these days - she's the one who called doom upon their fates!
When JK falls to the floor the way Giga and Sudha rush to her, while Talli, Gulaal, MB PB and Kesar stand away supporting their own sides... you can see the family rift is already distinct! The lines have been drawn. Interestingly, SF looks like she will remain neutral - even though she's just as broken - she's the only quarter of sense I expect in the house, to show sense to the emotionally unnerved and unhinged elders MB and PB... But that's for later...
When Dushyant revealed the truth about Gulaal having known all along - he framed his defense in all the wrongs words... sentence after sentence came in perfect order to provoke the parents' of the deceased son! Additionally, the moment his first words were spoken at that point, they showed everyonhe's face - including Talli - but not Kesar... I'd have looked up to see his reaction first... but I reckon the idea is, he doesn't figure it the same second - the consequences that will befall Gulaal. Its only when MB turns towards her, that Kesar slips from his stationary witness spot and moves to Gulaal's aid. He doesn't begin to say much yet... but you can see his defense is instant! So we know he's not going to waste time over any unnecessary wallowing before siding up with her - the precap shows just as much (groans about new PB again) Yes! Neither Kesar nor Dushyant really understood the consequences of this confession. It's only when MB moved towards Gulaal that Kesar automatically slipped in to the protective mode. I'm going to try and ignore PB today and just concentrate on GK!😛
On that note - I thought Dushyant's words to the inspector were very promising to me as a viewer... when he says that they still haven't found how the accident itself happened... but he himself is to blame for robbing Vasant of the chance to maybe just survive... The mention of unknown accident circumstances, and consequent camera zoom in towards Kesar to me was a hint, that we will in fact witness the chapter of entire truth unfolding... So just maybe Durgesh chapter isn't all closed... and Raman chapter - as Ganga pointed out in my other post - can still easily come to fore with the Deed that Dushyant had in his possession after clearing Raman's debt. I don't want the show to end without Kesar knowing both, Raman's real face, and Dushyant's genuine reform. At this point - as was evident today from all the showing of Kesar's expressions when MB charged at Dushyant - Kesar feels a mix of justice and disgust and emotional upheaval in general, to which will be added the Gulaal crisis tomorrow! But he has not an inkling of feeling for Dushyant or his reform - something that Gulaal does, even though the would has been opened up again, the pain has inundated her, the time of Dushyant's words to JK, and otherwise - Gulaal's expressions do not hold 'disgust' for Dushyant... he is responsible for her plight, and she will never get over that... but unlike Kesar she has seen the evolution of a decade in him... and can't 'hate' his guts like that anymore! The camera zooming up on Kesar's confused expression definitely means that the story isn't over. I wish Dushyant didn't protect Raman especially when he SAW him slip out while Kesar was throwing these accusations!
All in all - another brilliant day's affair ... The way they keep the momentum consistent, and keep the showdown coming, is parts, yet so connected and coherent with not one thread lost - 👏 kudos to the CVs... and so much to the actors!
Is this the last of Sushant Singh?! 😒
ps: Oh I hate desktops... and want my lappie back 😔
