I have also mentioned in my post about this scene. I wrote that she was right and wrong.
I felt it was wrong to bring in Talli instead of answering him.
In not being able to answer him I felt he got an answer that it was not a mistake but because both Kesar and Gulaal believed in what they think is right, Talli is affected.
It would have certainly been great and I wished she had answered him that it is difficult for a woman to accept this relationship.
I too feel at the loss of a beautiful oppurtunity to cement this mother-son relationship given the fact that Kesar has missed out on this motherly affection for 10 years.
Or may be I felt that Pannba still belonged to the old school of thought in not discussing this delicate issue firther with her son. Her son finds it easier to ask his mother to answer from a woman's point of view, but Pannba is not open to it. Especially I remember when Kesar went to her and directly asked what Gulaal's and Dushyant's relationship was. At that point too, she had said that it was wrong of him to ask this to his mother.
So may be, I may be wrong in my thinking, but I felt Pannba is not yet so open about it. She believes in the ritual but she had just a while ago labelled Kesar's behavior as insane(pagalpan). So I did not expect much from her.

Lovtv, i was thinking the same, why did PB say Talli's name and so on at that moment esp in what Kesar was asking and even if no one has specific answers for his questions and so on
The situation on hand today is a hard one, on so many levels and pov
I wonder if it was purposely done to have Talli in the conversation, seeing some ppl did forget about her and how she would be dealing with this, and at one point even Kesar did lol

well on the contrary i found the scene was good...panba is mature woman she knows right now kesar and gulaal are standing on different side of same river both are correct at their point but she cant make anyone understand coz u cant grow any feeling in any individual ...she cant force gulaal to love kesar nor she can give any false hope to kesar ...what she can do except to leave the question to the fate let destiny decides what is there for her kesar and for her gulaal ...

@ highlighted text...That is a very interesting perspective..,I never thought of it that way. It is quite possible that Paanbaa is uncomfortable talking about her feelings and private thoughts about her own experience. I was applying my own relationships in this situation and thinking she should have shared her innermost feeling and maybe she is not able to articulate those. I know women like that...who keep all relationships very superficial.

hmmm...food for thought!
