Hello all,
So basically I have been watching Gulaal since day one. I fell in love with the show when I saw the very first promo of it and I knew this would be a show that I would love with a completely unique story line. I knew this show would always exceed my expectations and till today it still has.
The story starts of with a girl called Gulaal who has been given God's grace of a gift of finding water. But this unique and special gift of hers she banished the enemity between two villages and made them one. She was one heck of a girl that lived everyday as if it was her last and that's what we all loved about her. Then she fell in love with Vasant who soon enough meant the world to her. Strangely there were so many hints from the very beginning of the show that Gulaal was made for Kesar. Soon enough as the story developed soon after Gulaal and Vasant's marriage a very terrible tragedy happened where Vasant was murdered by none other but his own brother Dushyant who was not in the right state of mind at the time. And Gulaal she lost the love of her life, her world had been destroyed. Just as the pandit had correctly predicted that she would lose her first marriage but her second one would be safe (Kesar). I do not think anyone at the time would have thought that Gulaal and young Kesar would be seen as a couple. But the deeryvatu said a lot. There were so many hints Kesar has always admired Gulaal and has always been very protective over her and always wanted her to be his bride (even though he had said that with a mind of a child). However subconsiounsly he has always seen her as his wife - his responsability. Obviously Gulaal had set out other plans. Kesar found out the bitter truth about Dushyant killing Vasant but Kesar as a kid misunderstood and was unable to figure out why HIS Gulaal hid this from everyone and why she supported him. He was sent off to boarding school with no closure. Kesar after ten years had a lot of emotions bottled up such as him missing Gulaal constantly loving her but hating her wants to see her but can't be near her. He grew up with all these feelings for Gulaal and was unable to understand what they were but we always know Kesar never wanted to hurt Gulaal. Even after the leap me, myself still was not able to figure out that Kesar and Gulaal could actually be a couple until I saw their chemistry together and it was amazing.
I looked back to the beginning of the show where it was Gulaal and Vasant. I must say I really loved them together - at the time it seemed as if they were made for each other but no one can change destiny I guess. To be honest after Vasant died I didn't know where the story would lead too because at the time I'm sure all of us were waiting for Gulaal and Vasant scenes but that was cut short.
Right now in Gulaal - I feel ; Yes Gulaal had made a mistake of promising Talli to get married to Kesar without knowing how Kesar really felt but she had always done so with good intentions because she had promised the family during the deeryvatu that she would find Kesar a wife of his own age and ofcourse no one can be better than Talli (in this case). But what about Kesar he has been bought up with these feelings for Gulaal and no one can change that. Gulaal knows everything about him and he knows everything about her and i'm sure he would always want to see her happy no matter what he says to her he cannot bare tears in her eyes.
Kesar has understood his feelings and knows exactly what he's saying and doing which means from now on the decisions he will take will be a lot more responsible and wise (well i hope you never know what mischief kesuda will get up to).
To Gulaal this has all come to a shock I mean if I put myself in her shoes I would not know what to do if i lost the love of my life from a very young age and then his younger brother tells me he loves me wow. But Gulaal just needs space at the moment she has been going through too much and all this is too much for her to take in.
I also think Kesar should let her know that he's not asking for her love he just wants her to never leave him no matter what relationship she considers the both of them have. He can't live without her and it's always been this way he always wants to see her happy.
Bottom line is - Vasant holds a very special place in her heart and so does Kesar. But Gulaal still wants to be faithful to her late husband but we all know Vasant would always want to see her happy and wants her to move on and Vasant knows no one can take better care of Gulaal than his own Kesuda! Vasant and Gulaal were only meant for each other for a short period of time. Vasant was there to show her the journey of life how to live and Kesar now wants to see her live. Kesar and Gulaal were meant for eachother - it was in their destiny since the day they were born.
I'm sure Vasant will always be with them and no one and not even Kesar can fill in Vasant's place in Gulaal's heart he was her first love but so was Kesar in some ways. Kesar holds a special place in Gulaal's heart but she is unsure as to what place Kesar has in her heart. She just has unconditional love for him.
Future predictions (most likely won't come true but wish) - Gulaal leaving Kesar will use the same line he used as a kid when Gulaal was getting told to leave after Vasant's death when he was pulling her sari "maath jaa Gulaal mujhe chor ke maath jaa". Maybe Gulaal will have some flashbacks?
We need Kesar to bring that loud lively Gulaal back! The one she was when she was with Vasant, she needs to learn how to live again. Live everyday like it's her last.
Well thought I'd write this since i was bored and thought let me think what the story in Gulaal was so far.
