I started watching Gulaal recently (thanks to Lennie) and have been a silent member of this forum since then. But the recent episodes and discussions on them have compelled me to write here.
Gulaal has not answered Kesar's Questions ? Is it true ? No, I think she has answered all his questions. She said she did everything that goes with family's well being. She said she did same thing, what Vasant would have done. She explained why she did the things that way, completely.
Gulaal is harsh to Kesar ? Is it true ? Yes. But she has really valid reasons for that. Precisely two of them. 1) She lived her life for only one person. Rest of them came as attachments along with. That is Vasant. Kesar suspected her devotion her love towards that person. This is a very big insult for her. "If dont believe me, there is nothing left to talk" were her words. Kesar direct accusations of her linkup with Dushyanth ji is bit too much for her to handle. 2) She loved only one person, Vasanth and is stubborn to give that position to anybody else. Yes, she also loves Kesar, kind of lives for him right now. But that love is completely different from the love towards a Man. She wants to take care of him, grow him up, mould him in the way Vasant has dreamed. But Kesar, quite clearly indicated he wanted her as a woman. He tried to barge into that space which she dedicated only to Vasant. That is why she clearly told she gives "right" to nobody else. When she said "right" it was "that type of right". She was specific just about that, as Kesar was also asking (in the recent few days) about such a right. She would give Kesar anything, but not that kind of a right, which only a man has over a woman. That is exactly what she said while leaving Kesar. So she was harsh so as to clarify her stand. She was harsh to show her hurt because of the accusations hurled at her.
My POV: Kesar is still very immature. He is passionate, emotional etc etc. But still very immature to understand the dynamics of complicated relations (the other brother could easily tweet his brain). But he is attracted towards Gulaal in a very strong way and this attraction stems even from the period before Vasant's death. Gulaal is matured but is a closed person. She believes in living only for one person and is stubborn to open up. However, she is extremely fond of Kesar. I think that word "Naadani" said by her mother is opt for her, because her stubbornness to remain dedicated to her dead husband can definitely be termed as being "Nadaan." She definitely needs another man in her life and is right now living in her own bubble. Soon the bubble will break and she will be dangerously alone.
So, is it possible for these two to make a couple? Definitely possible. They can learn from each other and lead life together. Infact, this relation has little resemblances (very little) to that b/w Radhika and Kamal Kasan's in Swati mutyam. It would be interesting to watch how this relation can develop gradually and if the makers can show it develop majorly because of only two of them (as they have been doing it till now). Yes there can be influences from external world but that should be minimal and the development should be from within the two of them. Hopefully the makers will give us that.
