Written Update June 9, 2011

Kesar is sitting outside the house and flashbacks to Raman's words about the deeyarvattu. Talli sees him, Kesar looks up, their eyes meet, and Talli goes in the house. Gulaal asks Kesar if Talli came home, he nods yes. Gulaal tells him that she wants to talk to him about something important, Kesar says that he too wants to talk to her, but not here, near the river. Gulaal asks why, Kesar says obviously he has a reason, he doesn't want to say this here near family members. Gulaal hesitates because it is late at night and says so, Kesar says that it is already too late but he will not let it be any later (He says it like a metaphor with intensity in his eyes and Gulaal gets that something is off. I love how he glares into people's eyes and talks to them directly - he is such a simple and staightforward guy). Kesar then tells her that if not now, then she will meet him near the river at the first break of dawn, and leaves. Gulaal is surprised.

Talli and Gulaal are both lying on the bed, both not sleeping. Gulaal flashbacks to her promise to Talli and Kesar's words about not loving her, Talli has flashbacks too. Gulaal feels bad and touches Talli's arm, Talli pretends to sleep. Kesar flashbacks to Raman's words again.

In the morning Kesar waits for Gulaal at the river bank. Gulaal comes there, he demands to know why she took so long. She says he must have arrived earlier and asks why he called her here. He tells her that he has some questions and needs answers from her. She says if you have questions about Talli... he interrupts loudly that his questions are not about Talli. (Don't Gulaal and Sudha have a life outside of Talli? All the time its the spoiled brat Talli Talli Talli, and all I see is a highly immature girl who was fed false promises arising from other people's fantasy world and who now blames Kesar for not loving her). Kesar continues that his questions are about Gulaal and himself, about this family. He walks towards her angrily saying what is the thing about Dushyant that Gulaal kept hidden all these years. He looks into her eyes with intensity and anger and firmly asks her what is the thing that is so bad that she had to keep it hidden. Gulaal says she doesn't understand his question and turns away to leave.

Kesar grips her arm tightly and turns her around bringing her closer to him, and asks her whether she doesn't understand or doesn't want to understand. If that is the case, then she needs to listen clearly, Dushyant wanted to marry her and her deeyarvattu was going to happen with him but she refused. Gulaal is shocked. He continues that he will tell her the reason she did this, because she found out about Dushyant's negative intentions, she knew that he did something that changed her life forever, and because of that Kesar and the family's life changed. Gulaal looks completely shocked. Kesar asks her why, is he wrong, that is why she did not do deeyarvattu with Dushyant because she knew he had done something bad. He grips her arm again and pulls her close and asks her the question is what exactly did Dushyant do, she doesn't respond, he demands to know and tells her that he wants to know why she kept the truth about Dushyant hidden from the family all these years. Gulaal is shocked. Kesar continues that what changed about their (Gulaal and Dushyant's) relationship later on that instead of going against Dushyant she is supporting him. He says that she went against Kesar and Mota Bha's wishes and nominated Dushyant for election as village Head. He asks her why, why.

Gulaal asks him what is wrong with him, why is he saying such things today, she refuses to listen to him or give answers. He says that she will have to answer him, he needs his answers right now, he frustratingly demands and asks her why is she supporting Dushyant till today, this question is eating him up inside and doesn't let him live in peace, why did she do this, why didn't she tell Kesar that Dushyant wanted to marry her. Gulaal asks why is there so much bitterness inside Kesar, only because Kesar has some questions that are not being answered.Gulaal tells him that whatever she did till today has always been for the good of the family. He asks her whether the family's good lay in her hiding Dushyant's reality/truth from them. Gulaal responds that she did whatever she needed to and doesn't feel the need to tell Kesar anything more.

Kesar continues that her promising Talli's marriage to Kesar has nothing to do with the family's good, it has to do with Gulaal's benefit because she wants that Kesar should marry Talli so that Gulaal and Dushyant's road is clear. Gulaal angrily gives Kesar a slap, Kesar feels very hurt. Gulaal tells him that he is crossing his boundaries, he has no right to question Gulaal like this, enough is enough, she will not answer any of his useless questions, and she walks away. Kesar tells her that no matter how much she runs away from his questions he knows, he knows that Vasant was murdered. He yells out this last part with a lot of anger and frustration. He continues that he knows that Vasant was murdered, and that Dushyant murdered him. Gulaal is totally shocked. Kesar looks relieved that he finally said it. (Honestly I was much more relieved, it was frustrating to see Kesar go through so much angst day after day. Sighhh). Gulaal turns around shocked wondering how he knows. (Hopefully now his behavior will make more sense to her. I really like Kesar, he is the only one in the family who questions Gulaal and points out when she does something wrong - Jamna doesn't count).

He asks her what did she think, if she didn't tell him he wouldn't know, if she hid the truth it wouldn't come out, he knows this truth, and he also knows that if she wanted she could have gotten Dushyant punished, but not only did she prevent him from going to jail but also hid the truth and betrayed the family's trust, she broke everyone's trust, Mota Bha, Paan Baa, Dayi Baa, him, she betrayed her Kesar, HER Kesar. He says this as if he is her own Kesar who she lied to. Gulaal cries and says that she doesn't know if he is asking her questions or accusing her, but she will plead with him to do one thing, not mistrust her honesty, Vasant was everything for her and even today he is everything. She swears on the Goddess and says that whatever she did was for the family's good, to fulfill her promise to Vasant. Kesar looks at her mournfully.

Gulaal wipes her tears and starts leaving. Kesar asks her to stop, she cannot leave the talk incomplete mid-way, she will need to answer his questions right now. He walks behind her and says that else he will believe in whatever he thinks as the truth, she says that she cannot put a lock on his thoughts and neither can she change them. Kesar tells her that she can make everything fine by showing Dushyant's real face to everyone and telling everyone the truth. Gulaal tells him that she will leave it to him to believe whatever he wants about Dushyant, but if he understands Gulaal even a little bit and feels that she did even a little for the family and if he trusts her, then he will not share this information with anyone else. He tells her that what if he doesn't trust her at all, Gulaal fells bad and says that the talk is over then, if he doesn't even trust her then why these questions, he will not be trust her answers either. She says fine, if he doesn't trust her at least he trusts Vasant, if he was in her place he would have done the same thing. Gulaal continues that she is walking on the same path that Vasant showed her. She said what she had to, now Kesar can do whatever he wants. Kesar says first they should decide what is truth and what is a lie.

Gulaal turns to leave but Kesar holds her arm again and says that she cannot leave till she has answered his questions. Gulaal refuses and says that she doesn't find it necessary to answer his questions. Kesar becomes vulnerable and asks why, doesn't his talks hold any value for her, and insists that she needs to answer. She yells why. He says because he has a right, he has a right to get answers from her. She asks him what right, nobody other than Vasant has a right, who gave him the right to ask such questions. Kesar feels very very hurt, his eyes have tears and he softly asks her whether he has no right over her. Gulaal says that he has no right over her, only Vasant had that right. Kesar is shattered. Gulaal continues that she will not talk about his anymore, especially with Kesar, he can think and do whatever he wants. Kesar looks so hurt, poor kid. Gulaal leaves. Kesar yells behind her to go, leave from there, if she doesn't care about him then neither does he care about her, if nothing related to him makes a difference to her then he also doesn't care, if he doesn't have a right over her then she too doesn't have a right over him, if she thinks she can do whatever she wants then he will do whatever he wants as well, if she thinks what she is saying is right, then he will say that she is not right, she is not right every time. Gulaal continues walking away. Kesar stops yelling and feels broken.

Precap: Kesar tells Mota Bha that he wants to say something important to him, Gulaal is standing right there and looks at Kesar surprised wondering whether he will spill the beans. Kesar continues that he has taken a decision about himself that he wants to convey to Mota Bha, he has decided to marry Talli. Gulaal looks at him shocked, Kesar looks at her defiantly, Mota Bha is surprised.
