He was vulnerable and suffering from internal emotions. The day he drank and knocked on Gulaal's door he had laid his vulnerability open to her. She was should have understood the pain he is going through. She should have understood that something is bothering him and and he has not been able to voice it. She should have attempted to find out the "wajaah" that Kesar who's very existence once revolved around her (still does) was upset with her. Attempted to know what had made him sooo pitted against Dushyant and take sides with Raman but no...she didn't bother to do anything.
She didn't forgive Dushyant in her heart but she was always there supporting him and standing up for him trying to make things normal. She should have thought about revealing the truth to Mota Bha and trying to explain it to him why she hid it from them. She owed it to them...Vasanth was their son.
She was wrong in slapping Kesar...She could have explained it to him. Shaken him and told him to mind his words. She should have let the others intervene...
By slapping him...she refused to acknowledge his right as her husband. She refused to give in to the fact that the guy she was raising her hand on somewhere thought of her as his wife. She refused to come to terms with the truth of her life... (yet again) dat Vasanth was long gone and Kesar was now her husband. She indirectly slapped the old tradition of Deeyarvattu and denied Kesar his actual place in her life.
Gulaal's first priority has always been Kesar. Her deeyarvattu with him was her passport to staying in Talsagra no doubt but why did she want to stay there??? It was her late husband's home...She would forever be haunted with ghosts of his memories in that place. But she chose to stay in that house out of love for Vasanth and care for Kesar. She couldn't bear to leave behind a tender boy. Vasanth's death shattered her and she lives on in dat pain only to ensure dat they promise she gave him was fulfilled.
In Kesar she and da entire family saw a new dawn...They wanted him to be like Vasanth and shoulder the responsibilities of the house. Gulaal needed to protect him from the danger outside. She needed to make sure that he was ready enuff to take over Vasanth's family.
Just follow this link and you will know what I am talking about
(Credit goes to the maker)
She slapped him cause he spoke rudely to Mota Bha...and Dushyant...Both are elderly figures in the family. Vasanth would have never done that! She was blinded and on impulse she slapped cause she knew that this was not the Kesar she wanted to shape...
So again she slapped "Kesar" who couldn't claim Vasanth's mojris and not "Kesar" the person.
I don't even know if I am making sense...but I feel the SLAP was a good and a bad thing!!!
Can't take back the episode...so we'll have to live with the slap...
But lets just wait and see how this affects their lives...
