I would love a vasant/gulaal jodi again! Complete dream come true for me in regards to the show! But if this does happen I hope the writers don't lose track of the kesar/gulaal bond.
We make many relations and bonds in life, some we are born with i.e. family, others we make ourselves i.e. friends, and those that we gain though love and marriage i.e. our partners and their families.
Gulaal and kesar bond began through their mutual love and respect for vasant, and grew through their grief of his loss in their lives. I've said before that they mirror each other in so many ways. For me the coin kesar keeps tossing about is symbolic. IMO it represents kesar and gulaal they are two sides of the same coin, they are more than just friends they are soulmates.
No one else understands kesar as well as gulaal does, and vice versa. Cvs shouldn't mess up their bond in their attempts (if any) to bring vasant back.
Actually bizarre I know, but you know what kesar and gulaal's bond reminds me off? ET and Elliot from the film Et! Yeah I know it's a sci-fi film, but seriously for those of you who have watched watch it, try and remember the symbolism in it. Et and Elliot mirror each other throughout the whole film because they are bonded. Elliot knows when et is pain; et sacrifices his life for Elliot, and on and on...
And taking what the director of Et said in regards to film and applying it to gulaal, It sums up to
'if gulaal is the heart of the show, then kesar is surely the soul of the show'
(I'm going to stop talking about et now before I get laughed off the forum!)
Anyway in conclusion I want vasant back because I like to believe that miracles do happen and that god rewards those who are good. And as gulaal is a miracle-worker herself as she finds water with her payals, and a good person at heart, she deserves to have her own personal miracle. This is to have her beloved vasant return to her, along with all the colors and joy in her life. And I'm sure that kesar will be the one to bring vasant back.

i guess the show will move ahead linking up gulaal kesar ,its a very interesting story where the CVs are mainly trying to show that love knows no bounds and even age difference like we have b/w the leads deosnt matter , coz love just happens ,gulaal will find it diffcult to get over the feelings for vasant she has but now the reality is KESAR is her husband and she has to fulfill her dharam ,well the game has begunlong way back kesar was a kid but has alwaz been close to gulaal and now those feelings are changing into love for gulaal, gulaal too is finding that spark inside her uncomfortable, she is a woman and mentally and physically has been longing for a soul mate for so many years GULAAL VASANT WRE NOT MEANT FOR EACH OTHER ,its kesar and gulaal whom fate has destined to be together for ever and none can escape frm it.

Suki11: I think your post above is the first time someone has said something positive regarding Gulaal-Vasant relationship recently.

I watched this show from the very beginning without missing a day. So i went through all the emotions and the gradual growth of the story and the characters in them. I rooted for Vasant in the first few epis and was mesmerized by the love growing between V&G and was clapping away when Gulaal took the step to come to Vasant's village. Then their support for each other, in the face of opposition and loved how their relationship and feelings for each other grew stronger and more determined as everyone stood against them. Finally when they both accepted their love and yet were willing to sacrifice it for the people they love, I realized that these two were the perfect pair. There could be no one better for Gulaal than Vasant and no one else for Vasant than Gulaal. They were one and the same. Vasant was the perfect everything. And so was Gulaal. That is why their relationship didn't last long...cuz too much goodness doesn't last long...nazar lag jaati hai. In dono ko Dushyant ki nazar lagi. I let it go and even though i know the creators never showed the body of Vasant, I gave up hope of Vasant ever returning. Becasue practically it was made evident from the beginning that Vasant and Gulaal was not the premise of this show. It was the deyar vattu adn the second marriage of Gulaal.

I love Gulaal-Kesar bond. Not because its a unique relationship of an older woman and her young devar...but as two individuals. I love how the writers have explored the possibilities of this relationship in every scope.

Yet somewhere, knowing how Gulaal's character has shaped up, I cannot imagine her being romantic with Kesar. Its not about their looks. Its about the consistency in characterization. Gulaal is a woman with a very strong resolve. She might have had a short marriage with Vasant but what Vasant meant to her is unquestionable. I cannot see Kesar and Gulaal sharing the same or similar relationship as Gulaal and Vasant. Gulaal was a different woman with Vasant. You can see the difference in the flashbacks. If its about bringing Gulaal's happiness back, the same joy and laughter back in her life, it has to be Vasant.

But she might move on with Kesar. Its a possibility. Like someone else said, if she were to see Vasant in a dream who tells her to move on..she might take that path. But it will still not be what V&G had. It will be a different Gulaal. She might be happy and Kesar and Gulaal might have a great thing going for them after that. But to compare the two would be difficult.

Personally, I'd want Kesar to realize that he can still trust Gulaal and forgive Dushyant. My prediction is that Kesar will express his attraction towards Gulaal. It might be a true attraction or something he feigns. This will bring out the truth about Gulaal's feelings for Vasant which should effectively show Kesar what Vasant meant to her. Then he can question her about what he heard and she can explain to him that Dushyant is a changed man. I don't know how he will react to that. He may not be able to forgive Dushyant the way Gulaal did. Either way the family will also get to know the whole story and Dushyant might be charged for murder and the only way for him to be saved would be if Vasant returned. If Vasant's return is not in the books then likely Kesar and Gulaal will end up together.
But I find that to be a tragic ending. Giga's family will be basically destroyed in this scenerio. Rama spending so many years in jail, Sudha living a lonely life, Dushyant always alone and then ends up in jail, and Talli their adopted child also never getting the love of her life. Sad. No wonder Jamna kaki always laments for her kids. This was not Vasant's dream. The show started with Vasant's determination to bring happiness to his village and to his family. He wanted everyone together and everyone happy. And after his death Gulaal made that her mission.

The only happy ending i see is if Kesar after understanding Gulaal and Dushyant matures himself and marrys Talli. Vasant comes back and Gulaal happies. Then they find a nice girl (maybe Durgesh's sister is still available) and get Dushyant married too...or Raman dies and Dushyant and Sudha can hook up. They understand each other very well anyway. Thats the fluffy version of my prediction.

@ JC

Very interesting prediction. Even though I havent seen much of Vasant and Gulaal together, I feel their relationship was very strong. A relationship one dreams to have. I mean Gulaal has kept him in her mind for all these years, still automatically flashes to his memories. Its always been Vasant for her noone else. His dreams and views are always in her mind. She forgave his murder because of the promise she gave him.

I can see the hints on the show supporting your predictions.

For the CV to stay true to Gulaal's character. It will be hard to show Gulaal moving away from Vasant.

If Vasant dream was a happy family then they have to show a family bonded family at the end. Lets see how the story shapes up.

I think i agree with you completely...it would be great if Vasant returns....he brought the best in Gulaal......she was truly happy and felt strong in his presence. He let her personality flourish...since his death she is half the person she used to be. That half being Vasant's dream....her true self seems to have died with him.

If Keser can bring that side back again. Treat Gulaal right, then i would really love that track. But as you said, what will be the cost of this...will it ruin all other lives? If Keser truly matures, i think he will let Gulaal go. still where's the TRP in that. It would be more interesting to the turmoil of Gulaal and Keser and their love.....so i'm ok either way....Which ever the way story takes us, i think it would be interesting.

happy family, including happy gulaal ....... infact happy gulaal first and fore most. vasant wud never want his love to wilt away into oblivion and living a loveless existence. and true it gonna be really hard for gulaal to accept kesar, but the only one eprson capable of bringing back her happiness is kesar now. interesting to watch lets see how this show shapes up.
hope it is not just build it up build it up and then fizz!

As a hero Vasant was SUPERB. and he was perfect for Gulaal - the laughter, the decency, the character of the couple. But even before they married, we knew there was going to be a problem - the prediction was there - 'vish ka saaya' and the second one would be the enduring relationship of Gulaal's life.

Now that Kesar is grown up, it's up to the CVs to TOP the extraordinary Vasaal relationship. Show us a renewed bond between not the boy and the woman but the man and the woman. If they do it well, what fun! 😳

I don't like the idea of Vasant turning up now - a tragic death but better that way. Kesar is not jealous of his brother - he knows very well what Gulaal felt for Vasant. But for Vasant to come back would mess up everything - a muddle of expectations, guilt, hope, duty, secrecy, society etc. Too too messy. 😕

@JC
Firstly, can I just sat thank you for understanding my POV, before, I thought people might think I had a screw loose the way I was rambling on about ET! (Btw I watched that film again with my nephew last night, and cried buckets at the end when Elliot is like 'stay et' and ET said 'come'. Too sad :(
Secondly love your predictions, I hope that happens, all the characters (expect maybe jamuna kaki) deserve to have such a happy ending.
But seriously I have to admit to struggling, a bit on this forum as no one seems to understand and/or like my POV's in regard to the kesar/gulaal relationship.
I have nothing against their relationship being the focal point of the show; I just don't understand why it has to be geared towards developing into a romantic one. Are all good lead TV/Film relationships romantic?

I mean look at the nom.1 watched show across the globe 'House', the main highlight, most critics agree is the central character (Dr House) friendship with his best friend Dr. Wilson. People like his on/off romantic relationship with Dr.Cuddy, but its House's scenes with Wilson that makes up the core of the show. As it's there that you see House bare his soul, to the one person he trusts most, his truest and dearest friend, Wilson.
Look at Chandler and Joey from 'Friends' too. We all rooted for a Monika/Chandler to get together, but we loved Chandler and Joey's 'bromance' scenes more.

Again, I'm probably giving everyone incentive, to get me a one-way ticket to the Looney bin, but what about the Toy Story trilogy? At first glance you think it's all about woody and buzz. Only in the final scenes of Toy story 3 do you realize that it's really all about woody and Andy. Woody's unflinching loyalty to his 'pal' Andy is what makes the films what they are.
Think of Vasant as Andy, Gulaal as Woody and Buzz as Kesar.
Woody and Buzz would do anything for Andy, and as a result of their love for him they become closer, and soon develop a close friendship of their own. We all know what perils and mischief's they go through. But their main goal was always to keep Andy happy, at the end Woody stayed with Buzz, but you know that if he had the choice he would rather play with Andy any day of the week.

IMO even if gulaal and kesar do develop a romantic Jodi, I honestly believe that the show would still end with gulaal gazing over a lush, thriving and beautiful telesgra, going 'I've fulfilled my promise to you vasant. I made your dreams come true, I've made you happy'.
So for me the show would still be about gulaal and vasant, and all that gulaal had done in the name of her love for vasant.

I really am sorry, if I offend or upset anyone with my views, but I do struggle, knowing how their relationship began, to see the appeal in a romantic kesar/gulaal Jodi.
Like you said JC it would not be consistent to Gulaal's character for a start, for her to fall for kesar. She's said several times 'I was vasants, I am vasants and will remain vasants'. So how can she maintain this stance whilst falling for kesar?
Or if she somehow does manage to do both, is it really fair to kesar, to be with a woman who can't give him her full heart? Doesn't he deserve better?
I've already said that kesar is gulaal's soulmate but vasant is her one true love. So I can't see why we can't have a non-romantic kesar and gulaal. Can't we make their bond the highlight of the show in non-romantic sense. Are we so regressive in our thinking, that as gulaal is a female and kesar a male, automatically there must be some romance between them?

I honestly don't know what the show holds in the future but I sincerely hope your predictions come true JC.

why are we totally negating dushyant....
they are accepting each other and although what he did was unforgiveable....even prison lets people off on a bail, when they see improvement of character.
vasant would be choice 1 and reason no body shown was probably cwriters wanted to see how serial progressses and leave that option available.....reality noone comes back from death....so did not want to shut the door.
raman can try to cause trouble, get killed and dushant and sudha would make an amazing couple adn understand each other.
gulaal is too strong to accept someone for support and loves vasant, said he is the only one.....
talli needs to mature and so does kesar....still kids pretending to be grownups.
my heart....intuition,,...just cannot see gulaal and kesar.....and it is not anything to do with age. just that he is too possessive and manipulative and will get worse.
