Mota Bha is in his room sitting deep in thought. Gulaal comes there and asks him why he called her. He asks her why she did DeeyarVattu with Kesar. She says that she has nothing more to say. He tells her that he knows she must have done it for the good of the family, but did she have to marry a 12 years old boy? Couldn't she have remained in the family as Vasant's widow? She doesn't reply, and she and Paan Baa have tears in their eyes. He says that he has decided to break the DeeyarVattu. Paan Baa says that it was done in front of the whole village, so how can he break it. He replies that he is the head of the village so he has the right to break it. He tells Gulaal that she is there because of the family's happiness, he wants her to leave the house and marry someone her own age because of her happiness. He says that if she has any respect for him, she will promise that she will listen to him.
Gulaal says that she has never refused Mota Bha's request. She says that they can talk after Kesar leaves the next day. Mota Bha says that daughters never refuse their father's decision, and asks her for her promise. Gulaal pleads with him to give her one day.
The entire family is gathered in the living room. Jamna Kaki says why did Mota Bha call everyone so late in the night. Mota Bha comes and says that he has made a decision about Gulaal. He says that before he announces his decision, he wants to know why Gulaal made the decision to marry Kesar. Dushyant and his brother flashback to their killing Vasant and pushing Kesar respectively. Nobody answers. Mota Bha says that he has decided to marry Gulaal off to a man of her age. Dushyant says that how can he decide this without asking Gulaal, since Gulaal will never agree. Mota Bha says that his decision will not change. Dushyant thinks that he will never let that happen.
Sudha goes to her room grumbling that everyone only cares about Gulaal and are talking about her third marriage now. But her situation is that despite being married she lives like a widow. Her husband's cell phone rings and it is the same woman, Surilee. Sudha asks her to stop being after her husband. Surilee says that why doesn't the husband ever pick up the phone. Surilee tells Sudha that she knows about her relationship with her husband. She tells Sudha that when a husband is used to outside food, he doesn't like home food. She goes on saying that wives are very boring and take too much care of their husband. The husband doesn't have to chase their wives so they get bored, but find other women more exciting. Surilee tells her that she is giving her useful advice.
Gulaal is in her room thinking about Mota Bha's asking her to promise, and she thinks that she cannot think of anyone besides Vasant. The next morning she prays to the Goddess and everyone stands there praying. Mota Bha asks her about the promise. Dushyant tells her that she should not make a decision under any pressure, the home is hers and she should feel free to live here. (Yeah right, as if Gulaal will take a decision under pressure).
Kesar leaves on a school trip. Gulaal talks to Vasant's photo and says that she tried to fulfill his dreams although she could not complete them. Mota Bha is back from the hospital, Dushyant has improved, Kesar has started taking more interest in his studies, and the business is better. She is very tired of fighting at home and outside, and now the fight has reached Mota Bha, come what may she could never fight Mota Bha. She asks him for forgiveness that instead of fulfilling his wishes she is leaving mid-way.
Jamna Kaki complains to Sudha that what is Gulaal doing inside, maharani, and they are all waiting outside for her. Dushyant says that he doesn't feel comfortable waiting for so long, that they should go inside and see Gulaal. Gulaal then comes there herself with her luggage. She tells Mota Bha that she has decided to leave the house. He looks shocked and Paan Baa has tears in her eyes. Jamka kaki makes a face, Dushyant is relieved.
Precap: Gulaal tells Mota Bha that she cannot refuse his decision, but she cannot think of anyone besides Vasant.
