I think there was a subtle parody aspect to this bgm.
In K shows it would lead to pheras, sindoor, MS and some other dramatic action by the male lead, who suddenly wakes up from a daze and then claims his right as a husband, blah blah blah just to prove a point and the female lead would go along with it and be ever so grateful to her husband for "protecting her". . 😡
Here Guddan was initially too shocked to say anything when AJ started doing pheras in front of everyone. I don't blame her - when you have floods after drought this is how you would react! He ignored her for so long and taunted her about not being his wife in any sense and now he wants to go the whole 9 yards (or 7 pheras). 😉 But Guddan realized what AJ was doing and why so she decided to stop him and put her point of view across: that he's not really her pati parmeshwar, he is a pati who has to give her the dignity of a wife, not pity or sympathy in the name of "protecting her". I also like that she expressed her happiness that he took this step for her with good intentions but she did not hesitate to tell him that she wanted more. She wanted the MS to be put on when it came from his heart and not for the sake of rituals, protection, sympathy, or to shut people up.
It was great writing again, subtle but very effective. 👏
