Chapter 34

Revti calls AJ. He recieves the call still holding guddan in his embrace.

AJ: (sleepy voice) haan revti bolo.

Revti: jiju aap abi b so rahe hain?

AJ: haan wo main office nai gaya tha, so

Revti: that i know ki aap office nai gaye hoge.

AJ: how do you know??

Revti: aaj kahan aap office jaate

AJ: kyun aaj kya hai

Revti: aap mazak kar rahe hona. Agar aapko nai pata aaj kya hai phir aap office kyun nai gaye?

AJ: guddan ko subah fever tha is liye main nai gaya office.

Revti: achaaa mujhe laga aaj di ka birthday hai is liye aap nai gaye.

AJ: what???? Mujhe pehle kyun nai bataya revti.

Revti: mujhe laga aapko pata hoga.

AJ: nai i didnt know. Chal theek hai rakh phone. Let me see what I will do. Thanks as well.

AJ gets up from the bed, slowly placing guddan on the pillow. He thinks how will he surprise guddan in buaji's presence. He recieves a text from aarti and then goes to her room.

AJ: aaru tujhse kisne bola ye?

Aarti: maa bata rahi thi. Bua ji ne phone kiya tha unko.

AJ: great, thanks

Aarti: aap itna khush kyun horahe hain buaji ki flight cancel hone se.

AJ: tujhe pata hai aaj guddan ka birthday hai?

Aarti: haan main aa he rahi thi aapko batane. Lekin phir maa ne kaha aap log rest kar rahe hoge.

AJ: sun ab mera ek kaam kar. Tu aaj guddan ko apne saath lejayegi shopping k liye poora din. Till then I will make all the arrangements.

Aarti: theek hai bhaiya. Aap bhabhi ko bol do. Till then I will get ready.

AJ: ok and goes to his room. Guddan uth jao ( while caressing her hair).

Guddan: (sits on the bed with jerk) kya hua bua ji aagayi?

AJ: relax unki flight cancel hogayi hai.

Guddan: achaaaaa (and puts her head on his shoulder) phir aapne kyun uthaya mujhe?

AJ: aaru keh rahi thi usko kuch kaam hai tumhare saath. Shopping krni hai. She is getting ready. Tum bhi ho jao and kisses her forehead.

Guddan: ok.

Aarti and guddan leave. AJ tells his mother and nimisha about the surprise party he is throwing for guddan's birthday. They all are happy seeing his this side. AJ thinks that today he will gift her what they both are craving. AJ calls angad home if there is no work.

Guddan: aaru tujhe shopping karni b hai ya nahi. Tabse sirf dekh rahi hai kuch le he nahi rahi.

Aarti recieves a text from AJ.

Bhaiya: aaru call revti if you can't handle her alone. I have told her everything.

Aarti: bhabhi main revti di ko phone krti hoon. She too will join us. Theek hai?

Guddan: ok. Mujhe to abhi bhi samjh nai aaraha hai hum krne kya aayr hain?

Aarti: revti di main aapko address send krti hoon aap aajao.

Revti: theek hai. Bye.

Aarti: chalo bhabhi tab tak kuch khate hain.

AJ: (on call) guddan tumne kuch khaya?

Guddan: haan kha he rahe thay.

AJ: buy yourself something good.

Guddan: mere paas to hain itne kapde. Why would I?

AJ: zara aaru ko phone do, tumhe bolna he bekaar hai.

Guddan: aaru le tere bhaiya kuch keh rahe hain.

AJ: aarti listen buy her some nice saree.

Aarti: ok bhaiya.

Revti arrives and joins them. Once they finish they again start shopping actually window shopping.

Meanwhile in Jindal House, AJ is himself supervising all the decorations. Maa comes to AJ.

Maa: lalla, bahut khush hoon main. Tujhe nazar na lage kisi ki.

AJ: kya hua maa?

Maa: shaadi k baad pehli baar tujhe dil se bahu k liye kuch karte hue dekh rahi hoon na. To bas

AJ: maa main jaanta hoon mai ne usko aur aapko bahut takleef di hai pichle ek saal main lekin ab aisa kuch nahi hoga. Main guddan ko har wo khushi dunga jo wo deserve karti hai.

Maa: (kisses his forehead) shabaash beta.

AJ goes to his room which he has decorated himself with candles and flowers. He thinks about guddan and says to himself today I will make you mine in all respects.

On the other hand guddan is unable to decide which saree she should take. So aarti video calls AJ to ask his opinion.

AJ: haan aaru bol?

Guddan: ye aap kahan hain. Itna decoration kyu hai wahan?

Aarti and Revti bite their tongue thinking the surprise is spoiled.

AJ: tum gahr pe thi nahi to main restaurant aaya tha. Yahan kisi ka birthday tha. Usi k decorations hain.

Guddan: acha.

AJ: aaru phone kyun kiya?

Aarti: bhabhi ko samjh he nahi aarha hai konsi saree le. Aap he zara help karo.

AJ: show me kya hai wahan.

Aarti shows him some sarees but he likes none. He says they are all the same.

AJ: aarti wo wala dikha wo jo peeche hai.

Aarti: color bolo konsa hai. Aise kahan samjha aaya ga muje.

AJ: wo green ka shade jo hai.

Aarti: ye?

AJ: perfect. Buy this one.

Guddan: (taking the phone) kya perfect. Maine kaha tha na mujhe nahi chahiye.

AJ: i love you and kisses the screen 😘😘😘

Guddan glares😡 and cuts the call. On the other hand aarti spots a dress for herself and asks guddan and revti about it. They both like it and she buys it.

Aarti: revti di aap bhi kuch le lo na party k liye.

Guddan: party??konsi party.

Revti: di koi party nai. Iska matlab tha koi party wear le lo.

Aarti: haan bhabhi wahi.

Guddan: chalo ab ghar chale. It's already 8.

Aarti: bhabhi main kuch bolungi to manoge?

Guddan: kya bol to?

Aarti: aap ye saree pehen k ghr chalo na. Bhaiya ko bahut acha lagega.

Guddan: aaru kya bol rahi hai. Abhi kaise pehen loon. And its so heavy. Tujhe pata hai i cant carry it.

Revti: di pehen lo na. Humko gaadi main jaana hai aur ghar k bahar utarna hai. Phir jiju ko dikha k change kar lena. Please.

Aarti: please bhabhi 😞😞

Guddan: acha theek hai aise munh mat bana.

As she is going to the trial room, she spots a maroon colored shirt and buys it for AJ. She then comes out wearing the saree.

Revti: di wow ye color aapko bahut suit kar raha hai. Jiju ki choice hai bahut achi.

Aarti: so to hai. Chaliye ab ghar chalte hain.

In Jindal House, everyone is waiting for guddan. It's a small party with family only and no one from outside.

AJ: aarti kahan ho tum log, kitna late hogaya hai. Sab log wait kar rahe hain.

Aarti: bas we are leaving. Half an hour max it will take us.

AJ: chalo theek hai aajao.

Meanwhile bua ji recieves a call.

Caller: hello bua ji, aapne suna?

Bua: kis baare main?

Caller: Akshat Jindal ne apni biwi k liye ek choti surprise birthday party rakhi hai with family only.

Bua: achaaaa. Mujhe to kisi ne bataya he nahi. Chalo theek hai tum meri tickets book kar do main aaj he jawungi. Main B dekhti hoon kaise hota hai uska birthday best.

Caller: fine I will forward you the tickets right away.

AJ: aarti kahan ho yaar tum log?

Aarti: bhaiya traffic bahut zyada hai, hum kya karein.

In sometime AJ recieves a call from buaji.

Bua: akshat beta meri flight reschedule hogayi thi to main airport pe hoon.

AJ: bua ji aapne pehle kyun nai bataya?

Bua: Maine socha tha main tum sabko surprise dungi lekin yahan airport pe koi lift he nai mil rahi, is liye tujhe phone karna pada.

AJ: theek hai buaji main abhi aata hoon.
(Turning to angad) angad main bua ji ko lene jaa raha hoon. Kisi ko batana mat, she wants to surprise us. Tum log ready raho guddan aane wali hogi. Main B aajawunga jaldi.

Angad: theek hai bhaiya. I will manage.

As AJ leaves guddan enters but they don't see each other.

Guddan: aarti ghar pe itna andhera kyun hai. Light ko kya hua?

Aarti: pata nahi bhabhi, andar chal k dekhte hain.

The moment they step inside, lights turn on and all shout together happy birthday. Aarti and Revti go and stand with the family, guddan is still standing at the door shocked and just then flowers are showered on her from above and as she walks a screen in front of her displays

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MRS. GUDDAN AKSHAT JINDAL.

Guddan has tears in her eyes as she overwhelmed by this surprise.

Guddan: ye sab kisne kiya

Nimi: bhaiya ne obviously.

Guddan: sach main?

Revti: haan di obvioulsy, warna kyun achanak aapko aarti shopping k liye insist karti?

Guddan: matlab ye sab akshat ka plan tha.

Maa: haan and hugs her.

Everybody wishes her and hugs. Then a servant brings the birthday cake.

P.S.This was supposed to be a long update but had to break it in two parts.
