Part 1 - She's Back!

The man seated at the floor, continued to stare at the figure lying on the hospital bed, with lifeless eyes. Once again, life had put him on crossroads and yet again, he had made the wrong choice. Had he not walked out on her that day, she would have been right by his side, eating his head. But here she was, as pale as a doll as her body stayed motionless while the machine connected to her via multiple tubes, barely beeped.

One week back, he and Guddan had gone to lay the foundation stone for their new restaurant in Mumbai. Everything was going well when mistakenly, Guddan ended up breaking Antara's photo and all hell broke loose. Enraged and helpless, as AJ rushed out of the venue, Guddan followed after him, trying to apologise and explain but to no avail. He had been so far gone in his anger that he refused to pay heed to her and she had no clue about the truck that was approaching. It all transpired so quickly that he could hardly comprehend it. One second, Guddan was calling after him and another, a chilling shriek echoed through his ears and when he had turned around, his entire world had come crashing...

"Uth jao, Guddan! Fight me! Annoy me! But please don't be so silent! This silence is unbearable! AJ whispered, helplessly.

The family members looked at AJ's pitiful state but could do nothing. Since the past 6 days, he hadn't left Guddan's side. They had volunteered to keep Guddan company but to no avail, he was hell bent on being by her side. After all he believed, he was the reason why Guddan was in such a state.

Sleep had just ensnared a tired AJ when the machine beeped violently. As the beeping continued, the man woke up from his slumber and turned towards the sleeping figure, with a ray of hope alit in his tired eyes.

And as the figure's naked eyes fluttered open, he scrambled from his position on the floor and clasping her slender fingers in his, caressed her hairs affectionately.

Guddan rolled her eyes around, almost warily and as her browns met his black, a relieved smile broke across his lips as he parted them to call out her name. "Guddan! Maa! Guddan ko hosh aa gaya!

Guddan continued to stare at Akshat quizzically and as she rolled her eyeballs to see her hands clasped in his, an unpleasant look dawned in her eyes and she snatched her hand away.

"My head! Guddan groaned, as she pressed her forefinger against her temple and then rubbed her eyes to ward the blurriness off.

As she tried to sit up, AJ rushed to her aid and supporting her elbows, helped her sit up. Once he had her back supported against the pillow, Guddan flexed her neck from left to right and massaged her stiff shoulders. "The hell! Why am I so stiff!? Guddan cursed in annoyance, totally unaware of her surroundings.

"Guddan, are you fine!? As a huge palm covered her hand that was kept over her right shoulder, she moved her head to see a man with spectacles staring down at her.

"This stiffness must be because you've been asleep for quite a few days...but tumhe sahi dekhkar, mujhe...I am...Guddan... Akshat was scrambling for words when Guddan caught his palm with her left hand and with a weird look pasted across her face, moved his palm off her shoulders.

"Who might you be?! She asked, quizzically.

For a second, Akshat stilled and then started chuckling, "Uthte hi tumhara mazaak chalu ho gaya! You are never going to change, are you Mrs Guddan Akshat Jindal?!

"First of all, who is this Guddan Akshat Jindal?! And secondly, I don't have spare words and time to jest with you...Mr...?! Guddan trailed, raising her brows.

"Beta! Tu ye kya keh rahi hai!? Tu Guddan hai, meri bahu! Aur ye toh tera pati hai, Akshat! AJ! Tera uncle! Dadi came to the forefront and cupped Guddan's cheeks.

Akshat looked at Guddan's blank face and found his heart sinking.

"Um! Look! Whoever you are ms. Mrs...! I don't know you and neither have I any knowledge of AJ or Akash or whoever you are talking about, so please spare me the headache! It's already bad enough as it is! Guddan replied in a formal tone, removing Dadi's hands from her cheeks.

As AJ heard it, he almost lost his balance and stumbled back, when Kishore came to his rescue and supported him. Durga looked at Akshat's ashen face whose eyes were fixated on Guddan, who was gulping the water as if it was all normal! Enraged, Durga snatched the glass away from Guddan and shattered it on the floor.

"Behudgi ki bhi hadd hoti hai! Tumhe lihaaz raha bhi hai ya nhi! AJ ki taraf dekho! Durga shouted as she gripped Guddan's chin and forcefully turned her face towards AJ and continued, "Pichle ek hafte se saaye ki tarah tumhare saath hain aur tumhe pata nhi ki ye kaun hai!!? Aur dadi, jo tumse itna pyaar karti hain, unke saath iss tarah ka vyavaha...

But before Durga could complete her sentence, a painful scream escaped her lips and her eyes widened to see Guddan's right palm firmly around her wrist, whilst she twisted it with relative ease!

A seething look had dawned in Guddan's eyes as she twisted Durga's hand further, making her wince. Shocked, Lakshmi and Saru tried to free Durga's hand but to no avail...Guddan's grip was almost superhuman!

Finally, as Guddan let go off Durga' wrist, Durga glared at Guddan while Guddan glared back, "Glare all you want if that makes you feel any better! Just a warning though, try to pull this manhandling stunt with me once again and I'll make sure to snap your wrist in two! Guddan warned coolly and then started looking for her phone.

Every family member continued to stare at Guddan shocked, when doctor entered the room. Snapping out of his trance, AJ caught hold of doctor by his collar and jerked him closer, "What the hell is this doctor!? Why can't she recall any of us and why is she behaving so weirdly!? AJ hissed in a dangerous tone while Vardaan and Kishore struggled to get doctor away from their father's grip.

"Trust me, Mr AJ! I have no clue! All her tests were clear and there is no internal injury either. But seeing her behaviour, it looks like amnesia! Doctor suggested as Akshat's grip on his collar loosened and he turned to Guddan, shocked.

"Amnesia!, Guddan interrupted them and getting off the bed, walked towards the doctor, " This situation and these people are enough as it is! So stop with your bulls*** coz my memory's just fine and do me a favour by getting you're a...

As Guddan cursed, dadi's palms covered her ears in disbelief while Lakshmi and Saru's eyes almost popped out. Saasu maa aur gaali!

"Guddan?!

Guddan's threatening was interrupted as Bhushan entered the room, followed by Revati.

"Dad! Where have you been!? Guddan approached him with a puzzled look on her visage and continued, "Honestly, I am absolutely clueless about this entire situation! What's going on?! Why the hell am I in a hospital!?

Bhushan's eyes widened as he heard Guddan speak. This tone! This voice! It can't be!

As Guddan turned to Revati, her brows furrowed in confusion. "Rewa!? Where you have been, girl?! And what's with this ancient dresscode!? Guddan enquired puzzled as Revati's eyes widened in realization and she exchanged a look with Bhushan.

"Who are you?! Bhushan asked turning Guddan towards him.

Guddan gave him a look of disbelief and chortled, "Did you hit or head or something?! Why are asking such a strange question?! I don't have amnesia! Guddan cleared.

But Bhushan continued to stare at Guddan as she sighed in defeat and replied, " I am GK!

Akshat could not comprehend his surroundings anymore. Guddan was behaving so off, so foreign! This is not the women he knew! This women's not his Guddan! Why was she calling herself GK?! What is even happening?!

"How old are you?! Bhushan asked yet again

"Oh! C'mon dad! Guddan almost whined and then replied, "Turned 19 this august!

Everyone's eyes widened in shock as Bhushan removed his spectacles and sighed in disbelief, "It's not amnesia. She didn't lose her memories, infact...

"her memory has returned... Revati completed and taking out the phone, dialled a number.

"She is up...GK is BACK to business! Revati spoke on the phone monotonously.

While the entire Jindal family stared at the trio in bewilderment. They had only but one question, What was even happening?!
