For me Virat was always a problematic character specially after Sai came to Chavan Niwas.
But it was okay as ITV thrives on toxic MLs and we know the og version was toxic.
But the way he kept stopping down was horrible.
I hated the most was that they are showing him as a Police Office ACP, DCP
&
He kept doing crimes and kept supporting criminals and misusing his powers.
Aur saare ML kamse kam Vardi pehen kar crimes and toxicity spread nahi karte hain.
Actually Virat was a red flag from the time he blamed Sai for losing his job and losing his sabse pyaari cheez..
That was mean and pathetic .He was gaslighting her , poor girl did not know she was not who separated Virat from Pakhi, they already were before she entered his life.He for a good while thought that she is the reason for them not being together and not that buffoons weightless waadas.
Again the same man was proudly giving up his job for other woman, while blasted Sai for losing it.
This man also manipulated her into not leaving Chavan Niwas after she was emotionally and physically abused during mirchi kaand.. she could have easily left , if not for this patriarchal man who kept normalising abuse not directly but subtly and indirectly..
Remember he said during Alta episode, Karishma use niche laao aur agar wo na aaye toh jabardasti khich kar le kar aao , this he was talking about his wife, infront of his family. He himself did not respect her, why would his orthodox family? This is not what we call gentle..
Back then i just thought that this is ITV and they might show him getting better, fighting for her in the family, growing a spine the more he falls for her..
The more he fell for her,the more spineless and pathetic he became..The more he fell for her, the good husband in him died.. he became the worse version for her after actually consummating with her..irony.. classic example of so many real husbands, ladki mil gayi, bas Ghar ki murgi daal barabar..Respect your wir? I am sorry what's that ?
