There's no way in hell that Pakhi will win the case

Read the IF article. And if that's true, then the makers have most certainly mocked the law. Because there is no way that Pakhi could ever win the case. Sai might lose, but Pakhi and Virat will most certainly not win. They have a criminal record for god's sake. Not one but many as a matter of fact. If Sai indeed lost the case, then that would be because Virakhi and Chavans somehow hid the pieces of evidence or paid the witnesses, because there is no way in the world that Virakhi can actually win this case fair and square.

I don't understand one thing, if the makers are such bunch of idiots that they can't handle important matters like this, then why even show it in the first place?

They aren't idiots they are bunch of sadist they love to torture Sai and viewers as well because they knew viewer's attachment with her

Yes, but this is a direct mockery of one. They have always shown people breaking the law, but this time, they will straight up mock the judicial system.

I truly believe the story is being molded due to the couples personal agenda. Producer should dump the real life couple or Sai should leave the show and find something else. I stopped watching long time back just follow india forums once In a while.
