Yeah I was actually thinking someone here will point it out and connect the last week's scene with this week's. I may have missed their posts if anyone else did so I wrote it myself. Even today when Virat talked about the perfume that too was related to their first mulaqat only. Other than that there's nothing he knows or remembers about Pakhi inspite of living with her under the same roof and sharing the same room. That's what I wanted to point out that Virat respects Pakhi as his wife and Vinu's mother but that emotional bonding, romantic feelings etc are not there in him for her. That's what the makers tried to show in this picnic track after months of "main tumhara pati hoon main tumhari patni hoon" blah blah blah. 🤣😂 The writers themselves are biggest flippers no wonder the characters are flippers too. 😂

So I had this thought.. Auntie P says, after boasting about her mall bf and cafe bf that all you had to do was be present..not just physically but emotionally/mentally..for him to know these basic things about his wife. He remembers so many details of Pakhi the girl he saw in the yoga resort.. But nothing about the woman whom he calls his wife..though they are the same.. Because in his head, they are not the same. When first he saw Pakhi, it was as an impressionable young guy who hadn't so far had his heartstrings tucked in anyway.. That was the first strong attraction and it was a new experience.. So it stayed in his memory as these things do.. Later his life experience teaching him real love for another woman meant the attraction he felt for yoga wali Pakhi died a natural death.. But the memory of that first cupid shaft remained.. Which is why he immediately remembered when she wore that dress..What he has with Sai wasn't so uncomplicated.. Every experience was forged in a furnace..and the love that was born out of it was as strong, enduring and imperishable as a metal alloy. So with her death, he did become mentally and emotionally dead.. thus his absence in the relationship with Patralekha. And this Patralekha was not the girl he had been initially attracted to.. This woman was tied up to all the filth and misery that had happened in his life, and whatever of gratitude or friendship he started to feel for her later were only superficial and something that he had to make himself feel.. Not gratitude that flows naturally, that warms the heart.. Bcz whatever help she would have given him in his bereavement couldn't wipe out the pain that she had given before. So he makes himself see her in the light of a duty, farz.. But no spontaneous feelings were ever born out of it. That is why he is never able to realize anything related to her on his own and unless someone spells it out for him.. Like after the game today.. She was sitting in a corner and he was very casually carrying on in complete ignorance.. Till Sai pointed it out to him..

Now, all this is something that has been growing and happening subconsciously.. Unfortunately he does not use his brain to understand and process all these emotions. If he could do that he will know the right decisions to take. But now he is just on auto pilot doing what seems as duty. And till he can navigate through his emotions and reslove and understand them, he will continue to be a flipper and never realise how fortunate he is bcz for him duty and love are actually one. Which is what that convo between Ash and Ninad was about.. where she talks about men being so ignorant about the matters of the heart.. And how love is in itself the biggest farz and imaandaari.

Pakhi answered all the questions on Virat correctly because she loves him and knows his likes and dislikes. Virat kinda exposed his real relationship with her in front of everyone by not able to answer basic questions like her favorite color, favorite drink etc. I wish Ashwini and Ninad were there to see that. They would have realized that they may look like an 'ideal couple' but there's so much dooriyan between them and just s** is not enough for Virat to fall in love with Pakhi. Today Ashwini actually confessed that Virat doesn't love Pakhi. He still loves Sai and she's worried Virat will become weak in love and go back to Sai. Pakhi got hurt because once again she saw that inspite of living with her for so many years he still hasn't developed any feelings for her in his heart. Last week the makers got lot of backlash for showing that scene of Virat getting mesmerized by Pakhi after seeing her in that dress. This week they answered why they showed that scene. Out of 5, Virat answered only 2 questions correct and those 2 questions were related to his first mulaqat with Pakhi. Their first mulaqat is the only moment that's fresh in his memory. Rest all the moments he spent with Pakhi, he doesn't remember.

Coming to Virat-Sai questions, those questions actually were related to the beautiful moments that these two spent with each other. Those moments that brought them closer and made them fall in love with each other. Though Virat didn't get any flashbacks of those moments but by answering all those questions correctly he proved he still remembers each and every moment he spent with Sai whereas in Pakhi's case he remembers only their pehli mulaqat. That's the difference between Sai and Pakhi which Pakhi understood today.

Sorry for such a long post. I just wanted to give my opinion and felt this thread is right one for it.

Ps. I am not defending the makers nor Virat. I an stating what I feel. I am still waiting for the time when Sai will actually live her life without Virat's interference. Their marriage was made in hell and even though that marriage is broken she's still suffering.

Very well expressed.

Even the perfume, was from first meeting, when they both were single. After that she was someone else's wife or he was another woman's husband. Hence he never paid attention to details.

Agree to the first mulaqat outfit, which helped him answer, but why heart eyes in the room? Was it necessary?

Did it remind him now they are both not only free but actually married to each other and ok to be infatuated again? Or just human to go down the memory lane and re-experience those feelings?

exactly ..just like how many people have fond memories of their first crush or love ..Virat has a fond memory of his attraction to patralekha at the yoga resort….but it’s just a pleasant memory… it’s not the intense emotional journey of a marriage…where there’s ups and downs amidst love and laughter and happiness.. that Virat had with Sai..and they also have children together..

Why does first mulakat with P have such a huge impression on V that he still remembers every minute detail after all these years?! If it was just a teenage crush type thing, how does he remember so much?!

Rather, V was answering genuinely based on what he observed of P. P is crazy. Her fav actor- she changed on thd basis of V allegedly but she kept on harping on green tea because V liked it - but in the question, she picked coffee as her fav. So basically she lacks consistency in her morals, choices except for one thing- obsession with being Vs wife and anyway V is pendulum so obviously theres no way their answers can match.

And no justification for Vs two timing type behavior is not gonna make it less crass to watch.

Him getting mesmerized by P, him acting normal spouse like with her, living in same room as her, letting her see him in the bedroom and do spouse like things like setting his clothes etc etc but at the same time expecting Sai to never move on, be answerable to him, expect her to never have any other man in her life as if she's still his wife is ridiculous. He has never felt any guilt for marrying P after Sai's return. Not even a twinge of shame. He looks quite comfortable acknowledging P as wife in front of the world and Sai. Flaunting his relationship with P in front of Sai in such a cringe way by close-damcing, hugging, holding her hand with haq, repeatedly calling her meri biwi/meri patni, calling Sai a teesri in between him and P, all of this drives home the point that he is shameless. Not even a monologue to consider how he's screwed up by marrying P when Sai is still alive. No monologue wondering why Sai is alone. No monologue feeling guilty for Sai being alone in childbirth, in raising Savi etc and for all his false accusations - JM related, Savi's paternity related, related to accusing her of trying to distort his image in front of Savi etc etc.

He does not even look uncomfortable when Sai speaks about him choosing P etc.

Its sickening to watch V and P and how Chavannis act as if there is nothing uncomfortable about their relationship. Its immoral. Its crass. Its pathetic. Chee.

People have fond memories of crush, but they won't get mesmerized by seeing their crush's beauty after having kids with other woman. Especially when that crush was your brother's wife & wife's tormenter.

Also how many remembers crush's dress & perfume in first meeting after 10-15 years? Especially when the said person doesn't remember his anniversary with his so called love of life.

Anyone will regret meeting such person after whatever pakhi did, but virat keeps that meeting as sweet memory.

Now it can be understood why he calls pakhi mature & sensible despite all her crimes. It's because the mature, beautiful pakhi imprinted in his mind strongly. That's why he always trusts her blindly, protects her, ties her to his life in someway.

Pakhi got his unbreakable trust/ support with one meeting itself when sai couldn't get it despite being his so called love for years.
