I was an ardent reader before Ghum yaar ! I have read countless romantic books, but I'm not into rom-coms either 😵 I like the darker stuff more 😆
Ab thoda sa interest wapis ara hai LOL since a few months, but I'm too picky ! I have a bunch of books saved, but idk kab I will restart.
I think we all need to start a convo in CC, where we share books we love 🤣
I am up for book cc.
I read a few dark books, but have a soft corner for cheesy rom-coms, thus my expectations for any show or characters are always high😭
Have you read Colleen Hoover books?

Omg, the fact you said Colleen Hoover first 😭
Her book was my first venture into books years ago ! Usse pehle I used to only read fanfics here and on wattpad, then I shifted to books. Hopeless/Losing Hope was one of my first reads and I loved her ! None of the other books she wrote interested me though 😭 That one was sooo good, if you haven't read. I literally wanted to read something in the same genre after that 😅

I have read only 'confess'. There are so many coho books, I am confused which one to read😭
Earlier I started reading 'it ends with us', but insta pe itna overhype dekh ke mann uth gaya mera😭
Wattpad ff's are my forever comfort zone, I still read them when I am not reading any book.

You should definitely go for Hopeless ! It’s a very touching read ! The romance is so good 😭 Childhood love is my favorite trope ! There is everything in it. It might make you cry though..warning 😅

Apparently, we can't even post more than 11 posts a day. You don't realize importance of number of posts you can do when you have an older account. IF is messing me up
So, I am answering questions right here

I think original writer of Kusum Dola, was heavily inspired by this novel when she wrote KD. Why do I say it? It'll make sense when you read it
The plot is like this
Our Hero (I won't reveal the name here because 🤣 the scene which lead to him and our FL getting together was hilarious and I didn't know who it will be, so that was an exciting experience) and a whole mining area is suffering from pox. There were about 200 people in the beginning who were mining gold but after epidemic started people started leaving the place and none was there to take care of diseased and dead
Our FL (Low Down is her given name because of her condition, she is an orphan and works like men to make a living for herself) stays back to take care of everyone
Ultimately, 64 people are left after the epidemic and they are eternally grateful to her for their life. They organize an event for her. They tell her that she can ask for anything from them
She wants a baby. Basically, she is an orphan so she wanted her blood someone who would love her and someone whom she would love. She didn't want a husband because husband would expect her to obey him and she doesn't want that
Everyone is stunned with her request, none wants to be the one to "do it". Married men are spared as they are married, unmarried men are asked to pick marble and whoever ends up with a marble with a cross on it, would have to marry her
Our Hero gets it
But, hero is in love with another woman, he is about to marry her in 2 weeks
This is just the set up, story starts after it.
I think Kusum Dola was inspired by this novel because the plot is just too similar except Samrat leaving after marriage.
Here Hero's brother has to marry his brother's girlfriend because they fear a scandal (and more). He is too good.
The conversation between brothers is nice too
Seems like pre leap Ghum plot line.
Post leap story is on another tangent in Ghum. No one remembers Samrat other than when they want to blame Sai.
Virat forgotten that PL was his brother’s wife. Its a mess.

Wow...this indeed looks like an inspiration...
Thank you for sharing it. will check it out. 👍🏼
This is basically a non toxic version of Ghum
Male Lead doesn't even look at PL because she is his brother's wife now. He acknowledges that it'll take some time for him to move on but it's not worth losing his brother
FL and ML have a deal marriage
PL is manipulative but she doesn't get a chance to break ML's marriage as he never speaks to her
ML's family members warm up to FL and there are many good family bonding scenes between them. They don't abuse her or hurt her in any way
