And the thing that struck me most was that Pakhi is not happy with Virat's happiness!! So sad that he is not seeing through her mask. And was or is actually thinking of spending his life with her! Am going by what they are showing right now.
Virat is more or less maskless in front of Sai. 😛
Am travelling & haven't watched episodes so can't write more.
Thanks so much ❤️
The moment we take things as they are being told, then the entire story changes. V looks no less than a villain.

Masks – Disposable and Reusable
Masks in the recent times have become a very common part of our lives. With how the world faced unprecedented times, masks became integral part of us. Now, what are these masks meant for? To safeguard us, and to safeguard others from us.
How similar are the faces that we have for ourselves. Our own personal masks. Ironically, they too play a similar role in our lives. Each of us will have a mask that we wear, less to a large degree of transparency. There will always be some part of us, that we keep guarded from the world, and even from our own people.
People use these masks to protect themselves, to shield others, and to deceive people. Uses of these masks differs from person to person.
Just like the masks we use can be disposable and reusable, these faces/masks are similar in nature. Sometimes we throw off these masks when the purpose is over. Disposable. Others we keep bringing them up and down basis the need. Reusable
Now why am I talking about masks here? The characters here also wearing masks. Some may argue that Sai is too white and hence does not have one. But I would differ in my opinion. She too does. Like I said it is not that one does not have another face, it is about the purpose or the reason we have those masks.
Sai as a character is white, hence her mask is way more transparent. She never lied about Savi, but she never disclosed her truth either. And while trying not to reveal her identity she had that “Transparent, disposable” mask on. Now that the truth is out she has thrown away that mask.
The other mask that she has on, is to hide her feelings. Her love for V. She argues with him, refuses to allow him to even touch her, and even says that she hates him. And maintaining that nonchalant attitude on she claims that she is not affected and she is over V.
Yet the whole world knows about it.
We have talked about this so many times. Why are they not revealing the secrets?
Why do you think Sai is more or less clear and she may not be holding up any suspense up her sleeve? Again, because Sai is a white character. So if they kept any secrets about Sai and tried to make her seem suspicious, we will not buy any of it. She is too clean a character. Hence, they won’t build any suspense around her. Even if they show that Sai committed a crime, without a backstory, the audience know will guess there is something else. And she can never do something like this. Her character vouches for her actions.
Hence her past is pretty much sorted and out there.
Coming to V. He uses many masks. But mostly disposable. They are situational based and discarded as soon as the purpose is solved.
There is a lot of suspense and speculation around his character. And the creatives have built it around him. We keep asking for monologues and insight into his mind. Why has he been chosen to have one? Because he is a grey character.
To explain this better, let us compare V in this track with the one during SH track. Why do you think they revealed things then and not now? Because till SH track began V was a very light shade of grey. With the MiMo track his character had washed a lot of the grey tone that he has acquired. While he wore a mask, trying to hide SH from the world, there was no suspense hidden from the audience. No mask.
Why? Despite what V would have done, the audience would have vouched for him, his character. He will not betray Sai. He cannot indulge in infidelity. Similar to Sai doing a crime is unbelievable, V cheating on Sai at that stage was not convincing. So if they had hidden V’s “vaada” and the reason behind his actions, we would have still given him a clean chit, saying he is hiding it for a valid reason. He is wearing a mask for a reason!
Then how come they could build suspense around him now? Because he has become a dark grey in his character. Hence, we expect him to do certain actions that we would never have imagined during SH track. Therefore, building a suspense around his character or giving him a mask works with the audience as his character is no longer that clean or predictable as before. He is perfect choice as he has shifted between white and grey. His masked face and actions will be easier to believe. People who thought that V cannot love anyone else apart from Sai can now believe that if Sai had not returned V would have moved on with P. Or if Savi’s identity was not revealed V would have moved on in his marriage. This is precisely why a suspense around him works. His can have masks and his character graph is capable of camouflaging his truth and intent. Yet we think that he probably may have some valid reason. Because he is not consistent in his character shade. So, we will not altogether write off his character. There will still be hope and there will that “He can” and “He Cannot” dilemma. What better character to keep the audience in limbo?
How is P’s mask different from the Sai & V. P they presented seemingly without a mask post leap. A reformed “bechari” P. Pure white. Remember we all said, why is this all too saccharine dripping? Why? She was dark. And dark to white is an unbelievable transition. Her white shade is her mask. So this bechari mask itself became the suspense. No one bought that. And even without a completely clean act from her end with no slips as such, we kept speculating about her character and the suspense behind that white mask. If she was presented as dark, what was the fun. Predictable right? What is the suspense there?
So what is it that mask hides and what does it give away. It hides the face expressions and words and tone become the primary means. With the exception of “eyes”. They say eyes are the window to one’s soul. So while facial expression are hidden and words play the monopoly game, eyes become the peep hole.
When V was going around looking for signs if Sai had moved on, when he questioned Sai about Savi, he only heard her words she spoke with her mask. He failed to see what her eyes said. When V asked Sai in KK “Savi kiski beti hai” , she responded “Kya matlab hai kiski beti hai”. He only took the words. Her expressions hidden and her eyes that screamed, “How can you even doubt me” ignored!
When V confronted Sai after knowing about Savi’s truth from JM, they saw they noticed the eyes along with the tone. V softened at “Kiske pyaar ki nishani?” His eyes and tone were complimenting each other. And Sai gave in. Because she saw a different V in those few seconds hidden behind that mask.
A similar example is when he notices Sai’s bruised hand when he comes with a dress for Savi.
V could observe and decode Sai relatively more easily because Sai does not wear too many masks and they are very transparent. The moment he came to know about Savi’s truth, V could see her clear through the mask without any indications from Sai. He could see her eyes. “Sai kisi aur ke bache ki ma nahi ban sakti”o
P on the other hand is being unraveled before V. Because she again is predictable behind her mask. Like Sai. Just that one is dark and the other is white.
Sai is not someone who wears too many masks. Because she does not generally like to hide things. With Savi she was very direct on why she cannot go to Vinu’s school. There was no hiding. She likes to keep things transparent and expects her daughter to be like her. Hence open conversations as much as possible. Sai is seeing the potential problems. She sees these because for her Savi is her child and Vinu is V-P’s child. So she knows what the issues that can crop up.
However, for V, it is not Sai’s child or P’s child. They are his children. So he can’t differentiate and sees nothing wrong or problematic, as they are siblings. What could possibly be wrong with that? To his credit, he went and confirmed that the school is actually good for his kids. But do you see, how he wears so many masks? Different one with different people? Why would one do that? Only when he has something different to hide from each of them. His approaches (his masks) are different while dealing with a different person. Isn’t that suspicious? If there is no ulterior motive, then why cannot be remove the mask and stay consistent. Since he is not a threat to anyone, then either he has to protect others or deceive others.
Something, I wrote about earlier. P wants V to be tied to her. Living, dead, unhappy..she doesn’t care. It feels like she knows that V’s happiness can only cause her distress. So when V returns with Vinu’s admission form, she almost tauntingly asks “Why are you so happy?” her masks keep slipping or her eyes are now giving out more than she intends and V has started to take a note of it.
I wouldn’t say Sai or P were wrong today. Their concerns are valid from where they are operating. The only difference is that Sai is genuine and so are her concerns with no pretense. But P is supposedly hiding behind her mask. Her concern is not really Vinu, but how V’s decisions can put her at risk of losing V to Sai. Her mask is slipping because her dark character cannot stay hidden under a white mask. White as a color is transparent and will not be able to hide a dark color like black.
V on the other hand is shuffling between his masks with an intention only known to him. But that smile he had when he returned to CN, was too much for an admission. It seemed like a mental high five that the plan is on track and the probability that he will eventually get what he wants. The masks are playing their role for him, but soon to be disposed! Wearing them for too long will prove hazardous.
Wowwwwwww sherry 👏👏the masks narrative helps us to see the episodes with different nd clear perspective too good yaar
