You are correct. Even though father can be called Aaba, in Sai's case she called her dad aaba as combination of aai & Baba. She tells Ashwini when she arrives in CN for the first time after getting married. She also mentions same to Savi when Savi that she must have failed to be Aaba & thats why Savi keeps asking for her baba.
