Everyone has a threshold for what they can watch on their TV screens..mine was breached when V was admitted in the hospital post Sada and I realized no apology was ever forthcoming. I could not watch Ghum after that. I watched that one confession episode for closure and I haven't seen anything else in over 4 months. I do visit the forum to see what's happening and being discussed. I guess a lot of people's threshold was breached with the surrogacy track. Its a sickening track on several fronts...not going to state the obvious.
But my question is this...the makers of these shows thrive on one thing - creating sympathy for the FL in the mind of their audience (mostly women) at the cost of every other character. The primary emotion they are looking to evoke from their audience is disgust. They want the audience to be disgusted with everyone except the FL who will be strong and make every woman cry buckets for her and identify with her in some way.
Well, disgust is a completely negative emotion. We know negativity sells (just turn on the news). But how much is too much? I wonder if they went too far and disgusted their audience out of the show instead of just making them more sympathetic to Sai. Seems like people are so turned off by the very concept that they're showing that sympathy for the FL is not even an issue. They've tuned out.
My take- Sai doesn't seem to matter to the audience anymore because it seems like she doesn't matter to the makers. She seems irrelevant in this completely immoral storyline. An easier storyline to stomach would be V divorcing Sai and marrying Pakhi to have his own biological child. That would have at least created sympathy for Sai. Now it's over, IMO. The show may drag along for months or years but there's no gas left in this Ghum tank..it's all fizzled out.
