Everyone has a threshold for what they can watch on their TV screens..mine was breached when V was admitted in the hospital post Sada and I realized no apology was ever forthcoming. I could not watch Ghum after that. I watched that one confession episode for closure and I haven't seen anything else in over 4 months. I do visit the forum to see what's happening and being discussed. I guess a lot of people's threshold was breached with the surrogacy track. Its a sickening track on several fronts...not going to state the obvious.

But my question is this...the makers of these shows thrive on one thing - creating sympathy for the FL in the mind of their audience (mostly women) at the cost of every other character. The primary emotion they are looking to evoke from their audience is disgust. They want the audience to be disgusted with everyone except the FL who will be strong and make every woman cry buckets for her and identify with her in some way.

Well, disgust is a completely negative emotion. We know negativity sells (just turn on the news). But how much is too much? I wonder if they went too far and disgusted their audience out of the show instead of just making them more sympathetic to Sai. Seems like people are so turned off by the very concept that they're showing that sympathy for the FL is not even an issue. They've tuned out.

My take- Sai doesn't seem to matter to the audience anymore because it seems like she doesn't matter to the makers. She seems irrelevant in this completely immoral storyline. An easier storyline to stomach would be V divorcing Sai and marrying Pakhi to have his own biological child. That would have at least created sympathy for Sai. Now it's over, IMO. The show may drag along for months or years but there's no gas left in this Ghum tank..it's all fizzled out.

Exactly its not even abt getting sympathy.

Its abt making people disgusted.

@bold if truly was abt getting sympathy, making Virat leave her for a baby was something that could have worked. He is anyway irredeemable now. For them its not even abt Sai.

Agree with you completely.

Vankar & team are in this delusion that it is 2000s where harassed, crying, bechari gopi bahus got TRP..because women audience identified with her suffering. Times have changed so much -nowadays, FLs who stand up against her injustice is being more liked by TRP audience.

The biggest reason Shruthi track was a failure was the harassment against the FL - with even the team Sai going against her. Worst, the FL herself accepted the entire blame. And on top of that, there was no acknowledgment of her pain, no apology from the ML. Which woman in the audience will like it?

I always say this - Ghum dials up the toxicity for a reason. To get TRP, you need to write dramatic scenes with good dialogues that engages the audience..like Anupama. Ghum writers don't have the skill. So they rely on the shock factor - by extreme negativity & toxicity. You know like in B, C-grade movies - which have zero substance but use vulgarity, item numbers etc to get audience...it is a lot easier that way..

Ghum writers have no talent. They had reference material ready fir bhi they messed up. Kuch nahi toh atleast copy paste karo. Nothing. Intellectually bankrupt production house. As Nethraa rightly pointed it, they are still reeling in early 2000s. They haven’t evolved with the time.

Yeah I always felt their toxicity factor was way too high. Difficult to stomach...the current storyline is even difficult to read. I admire those who can watch. Writing seems tone deaf to me. They are not holding up a mirror to society anymore for women to sympathize. This is in the realm of dystopian horror. No one..man or woman can find anything to empathize here. It's just a chalo..move on these guys have lost it scenario.

I do agree..Anupama has way better writing. Also a general happier vibe in that show for all its toxicity. This one is just depression central...and now horror central.

Yup..would've cost nothing to move straight to fake pregnancy post confession. Bana banaya toh tha. I wonder why that wasn't considered? Instead they came up with this track on which the ick factor is so high that no one can seem to stomach it.

It was nothing about creating sympathy for fl. Instead they showed fl herself defending her abusers and whitewashing every disgusting character through her which makes audience disconnect with fl too. The reason why I feel no sympathy towards Sai , the way she whitewashes her abusers especially in shruti track. She left with zero self respect. She got many chances to leave her toxic husband and family. But instead she tried for months to woo her narcissistic husband. Turned into a clown by saluting to the person who went against law to hide a nexilite. Now got infertile and her husband multiple times asked her to let his ex surrogate despite knowing she is legally unfit and how she tortured his pregnant wife which led to her miscarriage. The way he mercilessly abounded her after knowing about her infertility was so cruel. No loving husband would do that no matter what so called pain he was going through. I personally feel zero sympathy or empathy for Sai character. She herself asked for this daily torture.

How much is too much is quite subjective...... As audience, we have the luxury to change the channel, the makers have the luxury to proceed with just about anything in the name of drama and story and TRP.....

The general view of audience is grossly ignored by the makers. Some kind of action -reaction moment is the falling trp. One can only hope for some level of sense and kindergarten level logic when they move forward.

My tooo much moment was the repeat rinse and screech fest from Hyderabad shoot itself....... Same old same accept privately, refuse publicly and victim drama of Pakhi and Virat.

I could not digest the stupidity of the situation..... It was people choosing to be blind and deaf for most things and singing their own song..... And i was through.

The meme fest of the show is the fun element 😂😂

This current track is more than just toxicity element. Its purely to accommodate off screen equations whether people accept it or not. Because if it was just about toxicity they could have simply focused on showing Chavannis be regressive and put pressure on V to divorce Sai and get remarried just for waaris and if they wanted Fl ke liye sympathy that would have worked because everyone will feel sorry for the woman being tortured about her infertility. Its a very real thing. Shaadi ke baad the pressure is real on women to give offspring. So the point is not just to show the conservative vs liberal or evoke sympathy. Here it is very clearly for other reasons which is BLATANT unprofessionalism since plot is being massacred just because 2 actors cannot get into their pea brains that majority audience effing hates them! If they really cannot work with anybody but each other why dont both just quit?! The fact that the makers have actually accommodated this crap into the plot completely disregarding what audience thinks is even more disgusting, disturbing and unprofessional. Literally most of the audience including me gave them leeway and benefit of doubt until we saw the confirmation articles and script leak. We thought that the makers would give end mein give a twist and show pp ka plan flop and bhanda phod. But here she is getting away with multiple criminal offences. And they made ML utterly irredeemable. During Shruti track he was pathetic but the hope of a confession and eventual heart-heart kept many of us still onboard but heart-heart and his apology never happened. We forgave it coz V did name- change n all. So we said ok they'll give romance now post confession. But nahi.

And despite his recent pendulum switch getting fooled by pp, we had hope that Sai would reveal her true colors or pp in her stupidity would fall into a trap. But now all that hope for a twist is also gone. At this point theres nothing left to watch for. I have switched to watching other content but i cant help but visit forum to vent about how sad and frustrated it makes me to see a show I was attached to get ruined beyond repair. I love Ayesha and I am upset to see her hardwork get ruined by certain unprofessional people. I really pray that she gets a great new project and can quit this show or that show is quickly pulled off air so that she can single mindedly invest her full efforts into finding a new project and her own career growth- maybe she can do more auditions, MVs, photoshoots, media events, Ads, write scripts, do more theater, dance classes, learn a new language, do some fitness stuff to prep for action type toles, or whatever else Ayesha thinks she could find helpful to build her profile and find new exciting projects. She deserves to be with good peers and mentors who help her blossom and treat her with respect. She is being dragged down by being associated with ghkkpm now that plot has become so pathetic and the people she works with have been exposed as being really unprofessional and stupid. Sp now she needs to put in her papers and focus on better projects. Audience will follow her wherever she goes. The only other option which is not gonna happen is if they made the story into Sai focus and both V-PP ka exit and Sai exclusive solo journey, CN peeps ko bhi exit and all new characters and story line. Leap, new characters, new story new ML. But we know that won't happen so then best option is that Ayesha finds new projects !its hard for Ayesha to find new work if she continues to be doing her obligations here on this stupid show. Thats why show hi band hojanaa chahiye. They dont deserve to run even 1 episode without Ayesha. Sai is what propelled them to popularity so Ayesha quitting and ghkkpm running even for 1 episode without Sai is a disservice to the jaan of the show.

I had hopes on vanku till recently as he was associated with ipkknd and also because he did not taint the character of sai till date . She has been brought down I agree but her essence is still there. Under the cover of love, family, responsibilities husband she is mellowed down but the essence is there. And it is the trump card they can use if their brain works rightly.
