Hey, I'm very new to the idea of Hindi TV and Ghum hain kisikey pyaar mein is one of my firsts ( It taught my south Indian self, the word beizzati, ngl ) Stumbling upon this forum was purely accidental and I don't remember how I did it. Pandemic taught me that when there are bad memories, you try replacing them with good ones. This OS is one such attempt of mine, to keep loving the imperfectly perfect couple that SaiRat are. I'm an introvert, so I had to think for 2 days whether I should share this thought of mine or not. But it made me feel happy and I believe in sharing happiness. It's not the best out there but I tried. I hope you like it and it'll make you forget the big bad world for a second. Excuse me if there are any mistakes. This has only Sai and Virat.
Just a Rainy Day
**Sai**
Sai stood in her balcony, watching it rain cats and dogs. Rains have always been her favourite. They nourish life on this vast blue planet. Not so scientifically, she also believed that rains, from wherever they come bring messages from people who are no longer with us, breathing.
Sai usually lets the rain touch her face feeling her father through it and reminiscing their memories. Sai is here, on the balcony, like every other rainy day, to do the same. Except she’s at crossroads. Her emotions are a mess and she needs help from the rain this time. Not a trip down the memory lane.
"How do I sort myself out Aaba ?", questioned Sai, "These emotions are too strong to ignore and it is suffocating to keep them in. They're also too dangerous to be let out. Please give me some advice", she prayed. To the rain or to her father or to herself ? No one knew.
She stood there at the edge of the balcony, letting the rain touch her face. Sometimes harsh and sometimes smooth. Sai felt a cool wind brush her face, as she prayed, soothing her but not giving the answer that she needs.
"I know that was you Aaba and I know you're always with me", she thought, as she felt the wind caressing her.
Her feelings for her Virat sir are finally clear to heart. Maybe her heart always knew. It was her mind that had been putting up an argument every time she moved towards acknowledging the strong but soft emotion that passed through her. She can't really blame her mind because she did make a promise to herself that she'll not come in the way of Virat's commitment.
"Sai!! You're here!! I've been searching all around the house for you. Look, I made maggi. I know it's not a great culinary skill. But it's raining. I don't know how to make pakoras and I didn't want either one of us to end up in hospital. So maggi it is. I couldn't let the rain go", she saw Virat ramble, with relief and excitement in his voice.
Sai looked at the man standing with two bowls of Maggi and couldn't help but adore this him. She cannot believe that this is the same man whom she calls Gabbar and Khadoos Jasoos. Because the one standing in front of her is a fluffy, soft teddy bear, the kind that you fall in love with and can't let it go all your life.
Yes. She is in love with Virat and the very same love is confusing the hell out of her.
"Urgghhh.. why is this so hard?", she sulked, in her mind.
"Sai,SAI !!!"
She broke out of her reverie, to see Virat standing in front of her with a worried look on his face.
"I'm sorry, Virat sir. I got zoned out and Thank you for the maggi. You're too sweet", she answered him, taking a bowl of maggi into her hands.
"Wait...is he blushing???", she thought, as he saw a red tint make its way onto his cheeks, "No Sai, it's probably the cool wind. Stop imagining things, you lovesick fool "
**Virat**
"Oh my God !!!", squealed Virat in his brain, "She called me sweet. SAI CALLED ME SWEET"
"Virat sir!!, VIRAT SIR!! Are you okay ? You look red. Do you have fever ?", he saw Sai lean in to touch his forehead.
"Heheh..it's okay Sai. It's because I just cooked. It's all that steam which turned my face read", he bluffed, scratching the back of his neck.
"Virat sir, you made maggi. That's not cooking", she replied, looking at him suspiciously.
"Bappa !! and she calls ME Jasoos", Virat thought, quickly thinking of ways to get Sai off his back.
"Arrey..leave it Sai. I'll be fine. Come let's go watch the rain. Look at those leaves getting drenched. Soo pretty", he quickly held Sai's hand and dragged her back to edge of the balcony.
Virat stood there, looking at Sai standing there with a bowl of Maggie in her hands. She just silently looked out into nothing and slowly twirl the Maggi around her fork and take it to her lips. Virat couldn't help but love everything about this woman. The way she spoke, the way she fought for what is right, the way she teased him, the way she loved his Aai, Devi Tai and for God's sake, he even loves the way she's twirling that maggi.
"You idiot. Tone the staring down. You'll creep her out", he heard his heart chide him.
"You know Virat sir" he heard her speak, "I always feel that Aaba comes to visit me when it rains. I can feel him in these rain drops and the wind that brushes me. He talks to me through this rain by reminding me of the beautiful moments we spent with each other."
"He was a great man Sai. I'm glad you remember all those moments with him. They moulded you into what you are. An absolutely amazing and brave woman", he spoke out of his heart without any hesitation. Maybe Jalebis were better left as sweets.
"He was my world Virat sir. He was all I had, exclusively for myself. I know I sound selfish. I know Aai and Devi Tai love me and I know they're mine as well, but I'll have to share them with you and they're connected to me through you."
Virat saw a tear slide down Sai's cheek and he didn't like it. He hated the sight of it and he knew he had to act. He can't let let Sai feel that she didn't have anyone for herself. He knew he had to speak his heart out. He was always hesitant about how to convey his feelings to her. He thought of making a grand gesture. But now it doesn't matter. All that matters now is that Sai should not feel the way she's feeling. He'd be a fool to let her feel that way.
"I love you, Sai", he said and felt a great weight being lifted off himself. He was finally free.
**Sai**
"I love you, Sai", she heard Virat speak and couldn't help but turn to him, shocked.
"Yes Sai, I did fall in love with you. I don't know when it happened or it happened. Maybe it happened when you irritate the hell out of me but still manage to leave a smile on my face. Maybe it happened when you're angry at me but still care for me or it happened in our late night talks when you made a person who loved his sleep, stay awake until 12:00 in the night just to listen to your stories. Or it simply happened because you're you and I couldn't imagine anyone else taking your place in my life"
Sai did not know what she was feeling. She did not know what say. This man made her speechless. He did not twist his words and she could sense that they were straight out of his heart. She felt like jumping in the air for her feelings being reciprocated but at the same time she felt scared.
"But..Virat Sir.. Pakhi di-", she started to speak, only to hear him say no. She saw him sigh and turn towards the rain.
"No Sai, nothing matters now", she heard him speak with firmness in his voice," Not Patralekha, not Kaku, not my words to you at the time of my wedding, not my commitment to Patralekha, not your conviction to help me maintain a commitment that's void. All that matters is you, me, this rain and that I love you".
Sai felt tears pricking her eyes. She did have someone in the world after all. She had Virat sir. She had her Virat sir. She does not know what's going to happen tomorrow. She did not know how the future will turn out to be. All she knows anymore is that, she's not alone and she has someone that she can call her own. She knew what she had to do.
"I love you too, Virat Sir", she spoke faintly looking at the rain. She knew he heard her when he put an arm around her shoulder and pulled her close to him without any hesitation, comforting her. She put her head on his shoulder enjoying the warmth and lightness she's feeling inside her after so many days. It felt like home.
At the end, It was just Sai, Virat and their Rainy day.
