Awwwwwww I LOVED IT SOOOOO MUCH.....😍😍😍😍😍😍. It's so cute and hilarious at the same time and our little Varad is the SUPER STAR 🌟🌟🌟🌟 of the evening........😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Thanks!!
He really is!!! Where ever he goes!
And that part about School is not less than a zoo part was really hilarious coz that's so true. This part about mishaps and kid's adorable performances and all reminded me of the concerts in my Kindergarten (the one I went) I used to visit until recent years. All chaotic but adorable and so cute.....🤭🤭🤭🤭🤭
It is so true... I have seen it so many times! It is a miracle anything gets done!!!
And it's so good to see Ninad and Ashwini participating in their grand kid's function along with Sai and Virat and enjoying it to the fullest. A picture of a happy family 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍. And Ashwini being herself with whistling and all..... And those tender gestures shared between Sai and Virat, them cooing 9ver their adorable baby............uwuuuuuuuuuuu 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍I really loved those family scenes ❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Thanks for noticing them all...
And what can I say about our junior Chavan..... He simply won my heart......bringing out his parents' love in his own innocent but mischievous way.....awwwwww soooo cute😍😍😍😍😍😍. And it was hilarious how Virat was laughing at Sai and having the time of his life not knowing its his turn next 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.
This is AMAZING Aparna. EPIC I would say..... Loved it soooooooooo much.....😍❤❤❤
Thanks so very much for all the love!!! A lot more is coming up!!
Please write more on this concept 😊
Note: I was planning on posting something else as Neil's Birthday Special; but I had a small accident and injured my left hand. Unable to type up anything new, I am posting what I had already written...
That said, I'm enjoying writing Varad Chavan so much that this baby boy is here to stay. There is no continuity in timeline in these stories... the last OS was when he was 4 years old and in LKG, here he is a toddler...
Enjoy!!!
2. Kaju
“Sai…..”
Ashwini called up the stairs, at her wits end.
“Ashwini! Jaldi karo!”
Ninad called after her, frantic now in his attempts to restore peace.
“Mai aur kitni jaldi karungi, Ninad?! Sai ko bheja diya na oopar, usse tez kaun bhaagti hai iss ghar me?”
Ninad nodded in agreement, before looking down at the source of all the hungama.
“Aai… aa rahi hu, dekho naa, aapke Godu kitna waqt le raha hai!”
“Sai! Tumhare aate hi ek minute me nikal aaya hu mai!” Virat shot back as he raced down the stairs, hair still wet from his shower.
Exasperated, Ashwini yelled, “Bas karo ab dono! Tum shuru ho jaaoge toh iss shaitaan ka kya hoga?!”
Leaping down the last few steps, Sai close behind, Virat ran to his Baba, who was trying his level best to calm down the miniature human who was squirming like an eel in his arms.
Gathering up his son, Virat held him close, smiling as he quieted down in his father’s arms as always.
Sighing in relief, as the two year-old mini-toofan finally calmed down, Ashwini and Ninad sat down on the sofa with identical thumps, as Sai looked on in part amusement, part exasperation, part adoration and part jealousy, as their son cuddled close to his Papa, sniffling away.
When their Varad got into one of his tantrums, Virat was the only one who could calm him down, and as the rest of the family was wont to say, “Iss baat pe bilkul apni Aai pe gaya hai! Jab gussa pakad leta hai, Virat ke sivaay koi sambhaal nahi sakta!”
One after the other, the rest of the family started popping up from where they had disappeared to the moment Varad had started crying. One, they couldn’t bear to watch him cry, two, he could bring down the roof if he put his mind to it.
But their relief was short-lived, when the centre of attention, all of two years, leaned back in his father’s arms and sobbed, looking up at Virat with trembling lips, breaking his heart, “Kaju…..Papa….. Kaju….”
“Shhhh…. Addu…. Ro mat… Achche bachche itna nahi rote…. Shhhhh….”, Virat bounced him gently, to no avail.
He wasn’t squirming and screaming any more, but crying in quiet, frame-shaking sobs, looking all the more pathetic for that.
Virat turned to his parents and wife, and raised his chin in question, unable to process that even he couldn’t stop Addu’s cries. This was a first!
Slowly rubbing his back, Virat swayed on the spot, until his son cried himself to sleep.
Not wanting to put him down and wake him, he stood there, and whispered, “Ye Kaju ka chakkar kya hai? Itna pasand kabse hai?”
It was an exhausted Mohit who replied, having tried everything to stop the cries before he had handed over Varad to Ninad and escaping, “Kaju nahi chahiye issko, Dada… mai gaya tha, pura ek kilo le aaya! Phenk diya haath me diya toh!”
Looking up at Sai in confusion, Virat asked, “Toh phir Kaju bolke kyu ro raha hai?”
Walking up to them and softly brushing her Addu’s hair away from his forehead, and bending down to place a soft kiss on his cheeks as he slept, resting his little head against his father’s chest, Sai looked up at her husband, “Wohi hum me se kisi ko bhi samajh nahi aa raha, Virat Sir… ro ro ke thak gaya… poor thing…”
“Sone do, mai baith jaata hu yahan. Upar le jaayenge toh uth jaayega”, he replied, and sat down gently on the sofa, shifting his son to his lap, his head on the crook of his arm.
Sai too sat down next to him, sitting sideways, both parents lost in staring down at the little being who owned them body and soul ever since they had come to know about his existence.
Smiling softly at the little family, the rest of the family went about their routine. With Sonali, Bhavani and Mansi away to visit a relative since morning, along with Omkar, the house was much quieter.
A while later, as they sat talking quietly, Varad woke up, stretching like a puppy, flopping over Virat’s arms and onto his Aai’s lap, he squinted up at them both and smiled, the pure, innocent smile of a baby happy to see his parents as soon as he opened his eyes.
Leaning down to blow a raspberry on his belly, making him gurgle with laughter, Virat laughed as he squirmed away onto the floor, and after stopping a minute to hug his Aai’s legs, took off at top speed towards the kitchen to find his Ajju, before coming to a sudden stop.
Looking around the room, squinting as his eyes focused on Ninad, Mohit, Karishma and Shivani, he strained to look everywhere.
Pattering along, he went to check in the dining area and rushed straight back to Virat, and leaning on his knees, resting those little hands on them, looked up beseechingly, “Kaju…?”
Looking down at his son helplessly, Virat asked, “Kya hua, Addu? Kya chahiye?”
Not crying now, but lips trembling, he grabbed at his father’s fingers, and fiddling with his father’s wedding ring as always, whispered, “Papa… Kaju?”
Deciding to make a final effort, Karishma took up the bowl of kaju and brought it to her Dada and nephew, and keeling down in front, offered it, “Addu, baby… dekho, kaju… khaana hai, aapko?”
Looking at the bowl and then up at his aunt in utter confusion, he shook his head, and turned to his Aai, “Aai… Addu ko Kaju…”
Sighing, deciding that enough was enough, Sai got up and holding out her arms, said, “Aajao… Aai ke paas…”, and sure enough, Varad neatly leapt up as usual and swinging him high, Sai plopped him on her hip.
Looking down at Virat, she said, “Hum aate hai.”
Leaning back, resting his arm along the back of the sofa, he smiled, seeing the two firecrackers setting out. “Kahaan jaa rahe hai dono?”
“Kaju mystery solve karne”, Sai grinned and took her son all around the house, asking if he could see Kaju anywhere.
Happily along for the ride, bouncing on his Aai’s hips, Varad too looked around in total earnestness, his expression making everyone chuckle.
Once they reached back to the living area, Sai shook her head at him sadly, exactly mirrored by the small face.
Laughing fondly, Virat stood up and wrapped his arms around them both, making his son chuckle, and then making galloping motions, urging his Aai to move onwards.
Grinning, Virat stood back, lifting his hand to let them move onward, and Sai had turned to go upstairs when Omkar’s car came to a stop at the porch.
Smiling, she stopped, and called back to the others, “Dekho, sab aa gaye.”
Getting down, Mansi came in first, smiling wide seeing Addu, but his eyes focussed on the car, bouncing in excitement, he let out a happy shout, “Kaju!!!!!”, pointing at Bhavani Nagesh Chavan, the mukhiya of the Chavan family.
At Sai’s gaping look back at him, Virat got up, and shaking with laughter, walked up behind her.
“Yeh kab hua?”
“Mujhe sach me pata nahi hai, Virat Sir!”, she whispered back and looking down at her son, she shushed him, “Addu… yeh Badi Ajji hai na, aise kyu bol rahe ho?”
Shaking his head vigorously, he fairly jumped forward from her arms, holding his chubby arms towards a laughing Bhavani coming up the steps.
Holding out her hands, she grabbed him up and kissing him all over his face, tucked him onto her hip and asked, “Kaisa hai mera Addu? Apne Aai ke lie achcha bachcha raha aaj?”
At this, he smiled, and tilted his head against her shoulder, and sighed happily, wrapping his arms around her neck, and said, “Kaju….”
“Haan, haan, mai aa gayi… miss kiya kya mujhe?”, she smiled fondly.
Looping a companionable arm around his wife’s shoulders, Virat Asked his Kaku, “Ye Kaju kya hai, Kaku?”
Her expression turning a little sheepish, Bhavani motioned at them to move on inside and walking into the living room, giving a quick warning stare to Karishma and Mohit, who were trying hard to stop laughing, sat down, shifting her grandson to her lap, letting him play happily with her fingers.
“Kal raat se, mai isski Kaju ho gayi hu.”
Grinning, Virat stiffed his hands into his pockets, and asked, “Kaise par?”
Combing back his hair with her fingers, she dropped a quick kiss on the top of Varad’s head and laughed, “Bechara… confuse ho gaya. Hamesha apne Aai aur Papa ko mujhe Kaku bulate hue sunta hai, aur usko mujhe Badi Ajju bulana padta hai. Toh kal janab ne tay kiya ki dono ko milaake ek naya naam rakhna hi aasan hai, aur lo, mera naamkaran ho gaya!”
Oblivious to the laughter around him, little Varad Chavan happily dozed off in his Kaju’s arms.
