Virat wasn't hurt because Pakhi taunted him, it wasn't his ego which was bruised this time. He was upset with his whole family that they didn't think that he needs rest but instead were firing questions like firing bullets. Did you notice how he said baarud ko chingaari deni ki koshish? He was very upset that none of them were happy that Sai has returned forgiving him. Before leaving for the mission, he had told them all as how they were responsible for the position he was in, how they were responsible for Sai not returning home. They even acted as if they care for him, they even said we never said that she shouldn't return and all that, he had even then smiled sarcastically looking at them.

The family knew how much he wanted Sai to return home, he had told them that he will wait for her forever. Then it is only natural that he has just returned after a gun shot, he showed them cold shoulders before he left and they had all told him that they have no objections with Sai returning home but after he has returned, they have only showed how unhappy they are. He is upset that they couldn't be happy for his sake atleast, it was out of that disappointment that he wanted to walk away alone. It was a way to express his disappointment to the family members and has nothing to do with Pakhi instigating.

Yeah I did in that post mention about his ego not getting bruised by that comment.. however I have talked about that possibility.. if at all there was any.. here in this post.

Unless he is determined to deny his past relationship with Pakhi because he wants to avoid any sort of discomfort with Sai regarding his ex staying under the same roof. In such a case, he is in a catch-22 situation. He cannot clear the MU through straight, honest talk. So has to rely on his actions - the display of affections he shows to Sai - and hope that this convinces Sai of his devotion to her. So, if despite all his efforts, Sai still doesn't get convinced, he feels hurt/upset everytime when he realizes that her perceptions have not changed. What Sai is expecting is complete honesty which he is not ready to give.

This is my very poor understanding. I don't know if it makes sense.

He will be hurt if Sai thinks he has feelings for Pakhi. He wants Sai to understand him after everything that has happened and that has been happening that he has feelings only for Sai and not Pakhi. It is just a hurt when a person feels when their feelings are not understood. He loves her and rather than understanding that he loves her, if she continues to understand that he loves someone else, will be hurting. It is a normal human tendency of a person, normal expectation of a person who wants his feelings to be acknowledged. More than hurt, you could call it disappointment that she is failing to see his love for her.

Let's forget Pakhi for a while, let's think of Virat as a guy who wants the girl whom he loves to see his feelings, to feel his love, who wants to be loved. It is the hurt and disappointment of that person. When he is thinking about Sai, the love of his life, Pakhi will not be anywhere in the horizon of his thoughts, he will only want Sai to look at his feelings, he won't be able to think at that moment that Sai is not able to think or acknowledge or reciprocate his feelings due to his past. His past is a past for him and when he looks at Sai, he looks only at her.

@bold I agree that is where he is failing. He has to express his feelings to Sai and come clean with the facts.

It is just that he gets uncomfortable to talk about Pakhi to Sai I guess. Like last time when she confronted him, he was shocked to know that Sai knew so much of details about him and Pakhi. He didn't know how to answer her. She had even mentioned that he spoke about commitment during the wedding and asked him if the commitment was not Pakhi. He was stumped by her direct question. He didn't know how to tell her that he no longer holds feelings for Pakhi. But back then he didn't know about his own feelings for Sai.

Even now I guess it is almost the same. He doesn't know how to tell Sai that he has broken all his commitments with Pakhi. First of all he has realised that there was no commitment to begin with. I guess he doesn't want Sai to misunderstand him if he tells her whatever he has told Pakhi. Feelings changes for a person and even before his story has started, Sai shouldn't think or ask if his feelings for Pakhi had changed, why wouldn't his feelings for her would change. I think that is why he is trying to show them all in actions, he wants to make her feel loved, wants to express himself first before he shares about his past. He is also embarrassed about it. He doesn't understand how to talk about Pakhi to Sai, what will he say as how everything between him and Pakhi had changed. What will he say as why he loves Sai now, if she asks him anything of that sort. He is just worried because he thinks as is, his chances with Sai is less, she might or might not accept him as a lover or a husband and so if she ends ups misunderstanding his and Pakhi's complicated past which involves giving/breaking vaada too, she won't even consider Virat worthy of her.

If I were Sai, I definitely would have wanted Virat to voice out clearly that he has nothing to do with Pakhi...he should be clear ki haan tha pehle but ab nahi hai..I would like to give our relation a chance...if he wants it...har waqt aise shocked reaction dena,,,us baat se mukarna...aur bhi wrong signals jaa rahe hain Sai ko...Ego and gusse mein woh haiwan- shaitan ban jaata hai...how can Sai trust him?

I agree that he has to tell everything clearly to Sai, especially about Pakhi. She is not going to understand if this continues. Today he will speak this way and later his tone might change towards Pakhi. One day he might suddenly start to feel sorry for Pakhi and might end up doing things which will only result in misunderstanding. The best possible solution is be vocal about his feelings and to clear all the misunderstanding. Whatever is his behavior now, not sure how much consistent it is going to be for Sai to be able fo decipher his feelings.

I think Sai lost a golden opportunity there when talking about the difference in her rapport with Mohit & Virat-Pakhi rapport. She could have said humara bond bhai-behen jaisa hai or main Mohit ko apne bhai jaisa dekhti hoon. Even better, bhabhi-devar ka rishta bhai-behen jaisa pavitra rishta hota hai. Isiliye toh Karishma bhi Virat ko dada kehti hai.

That would have really touched the heights of beizzati & put things in perspective, shaming both Virat-Pakhi & Ninad-Bhavani’s extra closeness.
