My understanding of Virat's reaction

Watched the episode 192 and making this post since a friend wanted me to give an analysis on Virat's reaction.

When Ninad asked

"Ab yahi judaav jab Patralekha aur Virat ke beech mein hoti hai toh tumhein pareshaani kyun hoti hai"

The way Virat looked at his Baba shows that Virat didn't like his Baba questioning Sai that.

When Ninad asked how different are the two relationships, the way Sai said "NAHI" caught Virat's attention first. She was very loud and clear declining that the relationship are not the same. The way Sai said nahi surprised him. It showed how sure she was, she had no doubts that the relationship wasn't the same at all (ofcourse yes).

The way she said looked like she took offense when Ninad compared the two relationship and that offense stumbled Virat. It was like she was even disgusted or thought that no one should even compare the two relationships. That reaction affected him.

And then she spoke what he read in her nahi

"Donon bahut alag hai"

I guess he didn't expect her to bluntly confront Pakhi about it after she said donon bahut alag hai

"Hai na Pakhi didi?"

It looked to me as if he was shocked that she was confronting Pakhi in front of the whole family. It looks as if he wasn't prepared for it and he didn't want Sai to do it.

He got a little scared looking at Sai that moment. It was as if she had no hesitance to talk about it in front of all and he wasn't prepared for such a big confrontation (in front of all or not).

Last time when Sai spoke this during PD lunch day, Virat was shocked. That day his shock was because she spoke about it in public and spoke even after he had denied the previous night that it wasn't true. That day he thought that Sai was claiming something which wasn't even true, he thought that she had misunderstood and had accused their relationship.

This time Virat knows the truth of Pakhi and I believe that was bothering him. He got scared and was also shocked that Sai has understood so much about Pakhi when he himself came to know only when Pakhi voiced it out. The way Sai asked Hai na Pakhi didi only showed to him as how sure Sai was about Pakhi's feelings and he was shocked beyond words.

I believe that his fear was not just because she asked in front of the whole family, it is also because he was worried how her belief about this is going to affect their relationship. I believe he was worried how her disgust would make her look at him or what kind of an image she would have of him, after all this that they have shared.

It is not like she has not confronted him about it, but he had hopes, he had been thinking they had made a progress. Yes, they had a setback during the ousting and when she returned, forgave him, he had some hopes, thought that she might have feelings for him.

There was a post a few days back asking if Virat knows Sai is jealous or feeling possessive.

Virat did notice that she was jealous, so now he is confused with everything. Like Sai strongly believes that Pakhi has something for Virat, and I believe his thought was, if does that mean by any chance that she does not believe him too.

He was worried what kind of impression she has about him. His feelings are fairly new and he hasn't even expressed it to her and even before their journey started, he is able to see a big hurdle, he always had an insecurity, but he got carried away after seeing her care in the hospital, but that insecurity was woken up now.

Yes, he did have a past with Pakhi, it is true that Sai has confronted him about Pakhi, it is true that Pakhi likes him even now, but when Sai got offended/ when Sai reacted almost immediately when Ninad compared both the relationship, he felt small I guess.

"Mujhe poora yakeen hai ki aap sab log acchi tareeke se jaante hain ki Mohit aur mera rishta aur Pakhi Did aur Virat sir ka rishtha alag hai."

When Sai said the above, it looked to Virat as if Sai has concluded that there is something between Virat and Pakhi. He was asking her if she has not just changed her opinion of them even after whatever happened between them before the ousting or at hospital or at home now when he fought with Pakhi.

In the hospital, he has been calling Sai, fought with Pakhi asking why is she speaking that way, he had let her know that he wanted to meet Sai, he fought with Pakhi as why didn't she correct when the hospital assumed she was his wife, he told Pakhi that it is not Sai but it should be her who should leave, he corrected the doctor that Sai is his wife, he had fought with everyone at home that Sai is his wife and they should have let her meet him, fought with Pakhi asking why should it bother her if Sai is taking care of him and so on.

This is the present, I think as per Virat, other than the ousting thing, he thought they had made some progress in their relationship. Even in GC, when she had brought Pakhi in between, he would have only thought that she would have brought it in anger, she would have brought it because he supported Pakhi during the hungama and spoke against Sai. He probably didn't realise the consequences of whatever happened when he had supported Pakhi. He wouldn't have realised that was going to make Sai believe that Pakhi was only important to him.

Everytime she brings about him and Pakhi, he gets hurt and disturbed. From what I understand, it is just a reaction of a person who is hurt that he is never getting understood the way he should be, he is always being misunderstood. It hurts him even more now that he loves her. It is almost the same reaction when he had after Sai walked out after the confrontation on the day Ladakh trip got cancelled, only difference is that he is more disturbed now because he has realised that he has feelings for her.

I think he had said

"Sai tum mujhe samajthi kyun nahi ho"

"Kyun mein humesha tumhare liye galat lagta hoon"

Though it will look like what is there to get shocked or hurt after everything that has happened between the 3 all the while, why should he react this way when she has already said what she feels about them or has already confronted them, the truth is that he has always been hoping that her outlook towards his and Pakhi's relationship will change or would have changed.

A lot had happened between the confrontation till the ousting. He has supported Sai many times and fought against Pakhi for Sai. They have shared a lot of moments together. He even said Pakhi when she asked how did he have food with Sai in the room, that it was a special day. So for him, all of those have been special moments. The night he had got Chaat for her, Mahashivratri day. Even if they had an argument due to Pulkit, he understood that she missed him when he had gone for training through the video call, then the next day they shared some moments when he put on bangles in her hand and then all the moments that they shared during the whole of holi celebration.

As per him, the ousting did create a big rift between them, he knows that he had hurt her, hurt her self respect and that she is not able to trust him and move with him, but he didn't realise amidst all these that she would have again gone back to square one about him and Pakhi.

Whatever happened on the day of ousting, when he stayed silent when Pakhi shouted at her, to him, Pakhi was like any other person in his family, he stayed silent when others in the family also shouted at Sai. He didn't realise how would it have come across to Sai, wouldn't have known that would pass a wrong message to Sai.

Hence to him, it is like after everything she still seemed to be very firm with her thoughts. His reaction was not because she didn't want it to be compared from what I understand,

it was a reaction of a person who is actually loyal to her but is upset that he is being misunderstood by his wife.

It is a reaction of a person who is stumped at how certain she was sounding when she said that there relationship is different. Her certainty could mean she might have misunderstood him and so it stumped him.

Last time he was overwhelmed when she comfrinted him, he became very emotional, this time it was all very clear to him, it was a reaction of shock cum worry if she is even now thinking that he has feelings for Pakhi. It was more of a questioning look if she believes even now that he has feelings for Pakhi. Sai didn't look at him, but had she looked at him, she would have seen a hurt and worried Virat asking her if she believes whatever she said last time even now.

My understanding of Virat telling Sai that he will go to the room on his own

Sai was about to take him to the room after she had told Kaku and everyone that how he needs rest and they are all not letting him leave to his room by talking non stop. Pakhi then spoke

"Virat ki fikar tumhare alava kisiko nahi hai na iss ghar mein"

To me it only looked like he didn't want everyone to pounce on Sai or to think as if Sai's care was all fake/forced. He didn't want them to target Sai and question her if only she cares for him. Pakhi had already asked why does Sai think that other than her, no one else can take care of him. To avoid any more of these, I believe Virat wanted to go to his room on his own, start doing things on his own so that Sai don't have to do everything especially in front of them so that, at the end get targetted/blamed/misunderstood by his family.

The way those people spoke looked as if they were accusing Sai that she is making it look as if Virat is dependent on her. The problem for him is not that people think him to be dependent on Sai, the problem for him was that they were thinking that Sai wants to make it look that way. That is why I felt he wanted to move to his room on his own.

Awesome! Nothing more to add. I agree that he was hurt and worried about Sai’s opinion about his current status with pakhi. 👍🏼

But why can’t a just operated still to recuperate person be dependent on his wife? Why should he bother for what others say? He needs help and that is the fact. Irrespective of everything else,he still needs assistance. I am confused and could not understand why he has to trouble himself by moving on his own. He can call Mohit then!

But what to do when he lives with clowns like them? He doesn't want to give them another reason to taunt Sai. He is usually a person whose moves are calculated. He has always been living with these people who would have taunted his mom too. All their talks just made him upset and he wanted to go on his own. People show their foul mood/anger in many ways. Those who are ill show it like this many times. They refuse to take help to show that they are upset.

It is like telling leave me alone but in a subtle way and by also throwing a kind of tantrum to express their disappointment. I don't know if that made any sense 🙈.

Like say some people in my family upset me, I won't let even my mom help me when I am unwell. Like how someone refuses to take food when they are hurt though they are hungry.

Right now I remember, the way Sai said she doesn't need food after all the hungama after they had denied food to her. She was hungry but she got very upset with their behavior. Similarly she was upset with Virat's family during the chilli grinding incident, she didn't want Virat to apply ice pack on her palms though she was hurt. It is just a way to express hurt/disappointment. That's how I could see this action of Virat too.

Initially I mentioned, that Virat's shock could be because of the fear that she would reveal it all infront of the family and also thinking why does she still feels that way about them..

However since Sai was talking about them both at once and not just Virat, he should know she was not wrong. Patralekha has been harbouring feelings for him and has been portrayed very clearly by her since PD's episode... He has chosen to stay in denial for a very very long time. He believed Patralekha respects the relationship whatever they shared and share now, the way he does. However Sai was smart to understand thats not the case, since she goes through the venom that is spewed on her by the lady in the garb of being responsible bahut, however it all is nothing but jealousy that makes her do that.. And Sai certainly understands that.

Sai was appalled for her judaav with Mohit was compared to the one between Patralekha and Virat and no one tried to even bat an eyelid while saying that. Virat might as well chose to ignore but Sai knows that the family has a certain clue about Patralekha's feelings and the they use it against her.. She knows that Virat is the bait that they use to keep Patralekha happy. And for her that relationship being compared to hers and Mohit's was a tarnish to their relationship.. SHe had to stand up for both of them and say in clear words that the two are different.. Her and Mohit are like siblings , she would not interfere in his and Karishma's matters, while Virat and Pakhi share a past.. That past would never allow them to become what Sai and Mohit are to each other.. So that comparison had to be questioned and ridiculed.. Sai's need to clarify it more to do with the respect she has for her relationship with Mohit and had nothing to do with a jab at Virat.

Somebody said in the forum that Virat was hurt because he was taunted for being helped by Sai. I was just thinking on those terms , where he was enjoying being helped by her, loving her touch, her concern , her flinch on his pain.. Just a trigger from Patralekha could get him upset. He is very sensitive when it comes to that. He has a sensitive ego that can be easily bruised.. That was one of the reasons for his inhumanly behaviour with Sai in the past.. He is not capable of it ,. if he is left alone to handle or tackle his anger.. Its the trigger from PP or Kaku at the right place , at the right time makes him the man who is dangerous and harmful to his relationship with Sai. He needs to understand PP , when is hurt, spews the most hurtful words. She has given him a baddua to never be happy, just because he chose to be happy with the life that he has been bestowed with in the form of Sai.. He has granted enough leverage to PP to put her in the "she is hurt and rightfully at that" bucket and let go her words just like that. Because that comes in between his relationship with Sai to a great extent.

TBH, I still do not exactly understand why he gets hurt when Sai implies that he has feelings for Pakhi. It is not something to be ashamed of, is it? Anybody may have a past. It is not like he is having an EMA with Pakhi. Yes, he may get upset that his relationship is suffering because of this MU (Sai thinking that he still loves Pakhi). That should only propel him to come clean with the facts and reassure Sai of his present feelings wrt Pakhi.

But his reactions are exactly opposite to what is required - he doesn't clear the air but keeps getting hurt. So I really cannot connect with him in this at all.

Unless he is determined to deny his past relationship with Pakhi because he wants to avoid any sort of discomfort with Sai regarding his ex staying under the same roof. In such a case, he is in a catch-22 situation. He cannot clear the MU through straight, honest talk. So has to rely on his actions - the display of affections he shows to Sai - and hope that this convinces Sai of his devotion to her. So, if despite all his efforts, Sai still doesn't get convinced, he feels hurt/upset everytime when he realizes that her perceptions have not changed. What Sai is expecting is complete honesty which he is not ready to give.

This is my very poor understanding. I don't know if it makes sense.

The favour/support jo Virat ne Sai ke lye kiya is quite chota compared to harm/takleef that he gave...har waqt Pakhi ki baaton mein aa kar he not only speaks rude to her but also supports people who are against Sai and suppress people who are favouring Sai...physica/mental/verbal sab torture bilkul heights mein deta hai...

Abhi bhi he masked by saying that usne Pakhi ko jaane isliye bola as he thot that Pakhi was tired...Agar Virat needs Sai to understand, use clearly bolna padega...gol gol baaton se kaam nahi chalega...uska har waqt pakhi and apne relation per shocked reaction dena wrong signals deta hai...Sai has been very vocal...she has openly mentioned about her insecurities....iss baar to she said ki use YAKEEN hai ki ghar wale iss baat ko jaante hain...ki uska and Mohit ka rishta is quite different from what Virat and Pakhi shares...Hospital mein Mohit ki jagah Pakh ka rukna , what signal does it send?? Hospital staff ka Pakhi ko Virat ki wife samajhna??? How can Virat want Sai to understand when bahar wale bhi yahi samjhte hain...He was quite vocal about ummed mat rakhna.....mere dil mein zindagi mein koi hai...So why deny it now? He can be angry and create huge scenes when Sai even mentions some random male...yahan Pakhi saara din mandarati rahti hai...and Virat uski baaton mein aa kar Sai ko ghar se nikal deta hai and he expects Sai to understand by some sweet words?

If I were Sai, I definitely would have wanted Virat to voice out clearly that he has nothing to do with Pakhi...he should be clear ki haan tha pehle but ab nahi hai..I would like to give our relation a chance...if he wants it...har waqt aise shocked reaction dena,,,us baat se mukarna...aur bhi wrong signals jaa rahe hain Sai ko...Ego and gusse mein woh haiwan- shaitan ban jaata hai...how can Sai trust him?

I agree with your 2nd and 3rd paragraph. I understand why Sai said what she said, I had just written this post since you wanted to know about Virat's reaction to her statement.

Virat wasn't hurt because Pakhi taunted him, it wasn't his ego which was bruised this time. He was upset with his whole family that they didn't think that he needs rest but instead were firing questions like firing bullets. Did you notice how he said baarud ko chingaari deni ki koshish? He was very upset that none of them were happy that Sai has returned forgiving him. Before leaving for the mission, he had told them all as how they were responsible for the position he was in, how they were responsible for Sai not returning home. They even acted as if they care for him, they even said we never said that she shouldn't return and all that, he had even then smiled sarcastically looking at them.

The family knew how much he wanted Sai to return home, he had told them that he will wait for her forever. Then it is only natural that he has just returned after a gun shot, he showed them cold shoulders before he left and they had all told him that they have no objections with Sai returning home but after he has returned, they have only showed how unhappy they are. He is upset that they couldn't be happy for his sake atleast, it was out of that disappointment that he wanted to walk away alone. It was a way to express his disappointment to the family members and has nothing to do with Pakhi instigating.
