"What happened Virat, where are you lost since morning?" A hand touched his shoulder which startled Virat.
"Hmm... What?"
"You're still lost in thoughts. Missing wife?" Ranvijay smiled.
"No" Virat's curt reply made Ranvijay's smile disappear.
"No, I mean nothing happened. I'm just worried about the training" smiled Virat trying to handle the situation.
Ranvijay sensed that he had touched a wrong nerve.
"Hmm... Virat, can I tell you a story only if you don't mind"
Virat was in no mood for stories but courtesy did not let him say no. He smiled and agreed.
"Ha to, the story is of my favourite teacher. As you know me very well, you know that Ranvijay and school don't go hand in hand." Ranvijay laughed and Virat smiled. "But you know what Vidyadhar Sir was special. So special that he could make a duffer like me be interested in school. He knew everything. Full of knowledge and experience. It seemed like he was invincible. He was so damn good. And he was very nice at heart, cooperative and loving and caring. We could go to him for any problem and he would help.
One day when he was teaching us a girl raised her hand. Her name was Swati. She was famous for making mischief with every teacher. But it boiled my blood that she was teasing my favourite teacher. But Vidyadhar Sir asked her to stand up and tell her query. He was that good. But that girl didn't ask any question. But what she said made me even more angry than I already was."Ranvijay said dramatically.
Virat raised his eyebrows so as to ask what did she say.
"Oh, she blatantly told that Vidyadhar Sir was wrong. What he taught us just now was wrong. I mean a high school student tells the experienced and knowledgeable teacher that he was wrong."
"Did he punish her for what she said?" Virat was curious by now, "Or he forgave her insolence?"
"He smiled and told her to sit down and make mischief some other day. She didn't become quiet and again told him that he was wrong. He told her that what he was teaching was absolutely right and not to worry. But she was adamant and kept on fighting with him that he was wrong. I became angry with her and fought with her later for what she did with Vidyadhar Sir. I made her cry."
Virat looked at him disapprovingly and Ranvijay lowered his eyes.
"You shouldn't have done that Rana. You could have made her understand without making her cry. I'm sure she would have understood."
"Hey Virat stop scolding me for something that I did in High school." Ranvijay pouted which made Virat smile but his face showed that he was still annoyed.
"Next day I proudly told him that she would never tease him again and what I had done and he gave me the same expression that you just gave. In the class she was quiet. Vidyadhar Sir came and apologised to her in front of all for not taking her seriously. He had gone to the library later that day and came to know that she was actually right and he was at fault. She praised her in front of all. And later called me to his office. I thought he would scold me and he did but he gave me a very valuable lesson that day. He said, Rana I know you want to become a police officer when you grow up. My father is a police officer and gave me very valuable lessons. Though I did not become a police officer like him but his teachings help me daily. I was about to forget one of those lessons yesterday. Many times we tend to believe what we have seen till now. Our experience, our knowledge everything seems to overpower our thinking capability. I had an idea that she might be correct but i overlooked everything and believed in my experience instead of questioning things including my own judgment. Never make the mistake i did. You're going to be a police officer. Your knowledge, your experience should be your strength not obstacles in your way. Question everything including the evidences you have. I have never forgotten this lesson since then. Even if I am about to forget this lesson my wife doesn't let me."
"Your wife?" Virat looked at him questioningly.
"Yes, my wife. Swati"
"Hey I totally forgot your wife's name was Swati too. She is that Swati!!" Ranavijay nodded and they both started laughing.
"Rana, Diwakar Sir is looking for you." Hemant called him.
"Chal yaar, I should go."
Ranavijay left Virat alone with his thoughts.
Virat sir, everything you see with your eyes doesn't need to be correct.
Am I overlooking the obvious. Is my knowledge and experience being an obstacle?

He remembers how Patralekha had asked him again and again if Pulkit had a wife would he break the marriage between Devyani and him. And how she immediately disconnected the call as soon as she got the confirmation from Virat. And soon after that they got the letter and the letter was received by Patralekha herself. He decided to hear the truth from the horse's mouth.
He called Patralekha.
"Hello Pakhi"
"Hello Virat, how did you call me? Did you wife put your number in block list?"
"I applaud your guts Pakhi. Chori, oopar se seenazori."
"I don't understand Virat" Patralekha was fidgeting.
"You wrote that fake letter and thought I would never reach you?"
"It's a lie Virat. Sai's misleading you" said Patralekha trying to control her racing heart.
"I have the evidence Pakhi. I never thought you would betray me like this Pakhi. I hate you for doing this to me"said Virat dramatically.
"Please don't say that Virat. I was tired. I was tired of losing to Sai again and again. This is why I did that.. Hello.. hello Virat?"
Virat disconnected the call.
Virat then made a call to the administrative office in Sai's College and got Pulkit's correct form.
He called Pulkit and cleared things with him. He told Pulkit not to inform Sai that he was coming for their marriage.
I'm sorry Sai, I didn't believe you.
I'm sorry Tayi I was about to snatch your happiness again.
I'm coming.
