Good morning sisterhood! ππ»π»π»
What a team game after such a long time! It is a treat to watch navra baiko doing low pitched take downs of the Makad Sena in extreme pressure situations. And the understanding that surrounds even without making eye contact at times is such a visible foolproof partnership. A few moments:
- Virat stood with his hands interlocked at his chest with eyes fixed on Ninad when he began threatening Sai, but standing firmly behind her. The body language a give away of distrust and also restrain. 'Let me see how long do you go on.' He was convinced that Sai would say the right things in whatever way it is received. Add to that Ninad's blatant lie, "Tumhari Biwi ne kaise vahini Ka haath pakda..." Now, aadat se majboor retired army man forgot that the son had already witnessed the moment and seen what his biwi actually held. I loved how Sai just remained silent, kind of aware that she didn't need to defend herself from that lie.
- The moment when Sai responded to Aadarniya Didi with her ultimate take down line about 'Sabse jyada padhi likhi' on paper degree holder: Virat had paused to allow Sai to respond. That look of disbelief on her face while her head remained turned towards Didi was something (just want to keep re-watching Sai there π). He knew PP would next come to him and he waited for Sai to finish her word π. It is a pattern: she begins the taunt, can't take the response and then complains to Virat to chastise the wife.
- There was something about the moment when he forces Mohit to sit down and just moves away, as if asking Sai to take over from there. The awareness of the fact that Sai would also be ready to move ahead and feed Mohit. They didn't even need to meet eyes for today's running between the wickets.
- Sai, when she saw Mohit walking away and that Virat had firmly held him back, she knew the next step: Ab 'zabardasti' hogi.π Thank God she didn't add, "Virat Sir ko khaana zabardasti khilana bohat acche se aata hai... Warna Kaku would have also felt jealousy today ππ
There were other moments too that were the high points:
The moment in between the Sai-Virat team work when Sai spoke the most bitter truth, despite actually being the one who could the trurh use it to be conceited:
"Ghar ke ek bete ko dulara Kaha jaata hai aur doosra beta khaana bheek maang Kar kha Raha hai.... Sirf isiliye Kyunki Mohit Kamata Nahi hai".
It was a sentence that only a person with absolute sense of justice can say. She spoke about her husband's standing in the house and called out the family for being partisan towards her husband -- every wife enjoys this power that her husband's status brings for her in a joint household. I'm sure in her place, both Patralekha or Karishma would feel the husbands were entitled to be fed in golden spoon by the family. But for Sai, it is injustice.
Ninad's 'insaafpasand' adjective was definitely the word of the day. Also, although he said it in a taunt which was true, it is also significant because it came from Virat's father for Sai. The last time it was said was to describe Virat by none other than Sai's Aaba. Chalo, dono samdhibandu's have the same thought ππππ
Bhavani's utter lack of sympathy or regret for her action and her fake apology, which was immediately transformed intro an acerbic comment about Mohit's acting skills. Her fake apologies are too frequently happening these days -- one at the last breakfast snatching moment and then during the Alta sequence when she apologised for asking Virat to ask 'biwi' to leave. The insincerity with which it is offered is evident always and today it wasn't even an apology to say.
Virat embracing Mohit during his breakdown was touching. The guy needed a hug for sure. He needed someone to tell him it's okay and he needn't be mortified like that. If it weren't for Virat's standing up along with Sai, Mohit wouldn't have ever spoken his bottled up feelings. Yes, he's been largely unlikeable because he hasn't done anything likeable as of now but he is not malicious like the Makad Sena or mischievous like his own wife. He took the opportunity to speak about his anguish and it was definitely a peek into how he's grown up feeling inferior to the other two cousins, being constantly told that he wasn't good at studies and therefore being made to run the errands that the chaheeta betas wouldn't. Doesn't this happen even in low-drama households where the brilliance of children is decided on the basis of their love for math and their adeptness at algebra, and not by their love for art? It's so common. Being a math hater π, I could feel for Mohit when he recounted the childhood... It definitely seemed like Virat learnt something new- he wasn't aware what his first cousin living in the same house and eating meals at the same table as him had been feeling, until today. Although it is doubtful if he was really unwell to miss his interview, Mohit's revelation of Kaku's seven-days ultimatum was also a shock for Virat.
It was also so important that Mohit mentioned how his own parents had let him down -- without providing the basic moral support that is needed to be able to bring a child on the path of growth by explaining the reality and not loading him with expectations. It was a noteworthy detail that Virat turned to see Omkar in that moment.
Coming to the parents: Sonali was bound to feel guilty as a mother in the end. It's surprising how she waited for so long before this realisation when Mohit was denied breakfast the other day too -- just plain sheera. Her conversation with Omkar gave a glimpse into their mind.. what is this compulsion to follow Bhavani if Omkar claims to have his own business? Who can stop them from giving their own son a push in their own set up? They have a photo of karishma and Mohit in their room, which means they do value the son's choice. So why are they allowing his life to be ruined due to the constant assault on his self respect and confidence. Why not chastise him constructively when Kaku is not watching if her reaction matters so much? Or has she installed CCTV? Why don't people of this house speak to one another? What wealth of the Chavans is so important that self respect has been compromised? They are beyond redemption because their consciences have already been compromised - they plotted Sai's torture.. Sonali's dilemma on whether she should feel grateful to Sai from thereon or continue to side with the agenda of the Makad Sena was such an insight into how one loses the sense of right and wrong once way ahead on the path where the voice of the soul has ceased to reach the ears. She admits she cannot help praise and admired Sai for the courage that Sonali herself or Omkar should have shown. Omkar looked unaffected but will Sonali change sides? Definitely not. It would be surprising if she doesn't up her offence for Sai just to show Bhavani how unaffected she has been by Sai's act because it was 'disrespect' to the honourable BA Pass Queen.
So, at least a few things have been spashthly conveyed too:
One, Virat finally asking Sonali to watch her words for Sai -- at least in the moment when she is actually fighting for your son, you woman. I think his need to interrupt Sonali came from his surprise that Sonali wasn't even offended by Kaku's behaviour towards Mohit but was blindly siding it against Sai.
And OF COURSE a teaser of the moment that we will eventually witness some day (umeed par duniya Kayam haiπ):
Virat has finally acknowledged Mallika-e-Maturity's absolute need to demean Sai at every opportunity available and refused to referee in the match that follows. "If you can't bear to hear the response, stop provoking with taunts.." What a blow it already was to Aadarniya Didi, whose existence in the household is only know when she is latching on to Sai to make her fall.
Thank God Bappa that it was a no-jalebi telling off. And, very evidently, it was also the left over annoyance from her bedroom antics where his telling her off was interrupted by Sai's reaction.
Sai's dialogue about 'padhai' and 'rishton ki samajh' was so apt and such a no-brainer π Didi could have only said what she did, "Virat Dekho Tumhari Biwi kaise sach bol Kar meri beizzati Kar rahi hai... Mere pass koi jawab Nahin hai as usual so please tell her that she's doing my beizzati and distract her from speaking any more truth" ππ but today Sai ke Pati ki bhi satak hi gayi, so to Delusional Didi ke Dum me thoda dent ho Gaya when she had to field more questions, "Tum Apne Aap se Kyun Nahi poochti... Tum Ghar mein baaki sabse Jaise baat Karti ho waise Sai se toh Nahin Karti... Tum mauka dhoondti ho Sai Ko neecha dikhane Ka."
Also right after the Baiko said it the previous night, the Husband also uses the 'neeyat' word for Vahini. Ab Chavan saheb, we are all waiting for the day when you'll reveal if you've parkhofyed Vahini's neeyat.
But Didi should thank Sai because she very intelligently brought the focus back to Mohit without allowing the conversation to veer towards another hysterical 'meri beizzati' rant from Susheel bahu that would have left Mohit hungry and diverted all the dum-phoonk chakrams to Didi's aid. The Mohit issue needed to be resolved and Sai must have already felt vindicated that Virat had spoken up finally the way she wanted. But she also sensed that vahini was trying to divert his attention to her and Virat was annoyed enough to carry on the argument for a bit...
In the end, Sai vahini ne Mohit ko khaana Khilaya and Virat was proud and pleased to see how stubborn Sai had been for the right, for justice. It was definitely a moment when it was visible that he was 'falling in love' with a soul mateπ. Doesn't Chavan Saheb think Sai needs a gift? π
Doesn't he think, how grossly mismatched his value system is with his 1.47 hours yoga love? Does she even have a value system? It's only a display of blind loyalty to those who keep her on a pedestal and it's only subject to how long she remains on the pedestal. π
But the need for Omkar and Sonali to walk out if Queen Bhavani has left the scene is unfathomable. At least Sonali could have waited to take over the feeding session -- what a telling difference between Ashwini and Sonali. But why did Karishma alias Sweety also leave?!π€π³ Shouldn't she have waited to give Mohit the company and take over from Sai once everyone had left?
And yes, Virat registered Vahini walking away too (I hope no more phone calls we have to hear π)

Sai and Pulkit's staring match with questions running in the back and "Devyani" written all over their faces was foreboding. Sai couldn't concentrate on her test.. did she write anything in the paper?? π€π Aniket is a medical student who cleared entrance ya management quota se direct entry?
Miss Marple finally joined the dots, remembering Pulkit in tears at the mention of Devyani. But of course, both of them think it would be a presumption that their Devyani is the same one as the other's. It is wise to talk it out. But what better clue than a Mast ha mast Kaku π€£π ππ€£ Even Pulkit's ears are trained to hear their takiya kalam. (Waise, who answers phone in a class where the professor has not left. Is it allowed these days? And to even keep the phone on loud ringing mode in a class? Ya only ACP Chavan ki biwi can?π)
Pulkit's flashback is finally taking the story into the past -- a much younger get up mein Bhavani, Ninad and Omkar. Ninad in dyed hair and three piece just to push Pulkit to the groundπ So, from Bhavani's get up of the past, it feels like Nagesh Chavan was already dead. She's dressed in colour as a widow (no mangalsutra or green bangles).
Also, appears like Devyani and Pulkit's eloped and secretly married. They may not have registered the marriage because he doesn't have proof when Bhavani asks. Given her current mental condition, it would go against Sai if she forces her way through to 'marry' them off again.
What's with this over use of the honeymoon promo? Is it to rub it into the viewers the neeyat of Didi when she's wearing the hare kaanch ki choodiyaan and thinking of mitaofying shikwe with imaginary Husband? So that no one believes the 'official kaam' se jaane Ka drama? Aisa hai toh theek hai warna what a lame idea. It better be a take down from the imaginary husband rather than Sai. ππ

How much do people hate to hear the truth being spoken? There is a saying that goes, "Freedom for wolves is death of sheep". And add to it the most powerful comment from Benjamin Franklin: Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.
How often, when things don't directly affect us, we continue to live in indifference, not wanting to ruffle feathers or interfering in someone's matters. Justice is nothing but fairness andb upholding the truth- the conscience.
Unfortunately, those who trespass justice are the ones who seek justice eventually. But does justice is really exist? It does -- it lies in the spirit and not in the form of law; and that's my most favourite quote for life! π
Replenish the cups with coffee of compassion βββ and integri'tea' π΅π΅π΅ and you'll earn as many hugs π€π€π€ and as much love β€οΈβ€οΈβ€οΈ as in the world there can be. Because justice is not just a virtue, it is the voice of the soul that keeps the conscience alive...
Hope you're going to grab the opportunity to replenish someone else's cuppa we well.
Own your day! Aaj toh Chavan saheb ne sab ko thoda Khush Kar hi Diya hai. Baaki, kal Nayi subah hogi π π
