Virat promises sai that as per his promise to kamal sir he will look after sai and in order to do so he will look after her and help her fulfill her dreams. He first proposes that they both marry, but sai asks him is that the only way you will look after me, by me being your wife? Will you not look after me as a friend and be my guardian? Sai tells him she does not want to marry because if she becomes his wife, she will also have to be bahu to his family, and a bahu has a lot of responsibilities that she is expected to fulfill, and she does not have time for such responsibilities if she is to train to be a decor.
Virat realises sai is right and agrees to her wish. Virat instead tells sai that they will both go to nagpur where he lives and he will look for a good medical college for her and will asks his family to let her live with them, but sai refuses to live in his house with his family as she has no right to stay in his house and why would his family allow her to live with them without any relationship. Sai will say she wants to live in hostel, so virat agrees to honor sai's freedom of choice.
NOTE: In my version pakhi and sunny never went GC because virat never called them for them to witness marriage with sai, so pakhi and sunny see sai for first time in GC only when he brings sai home and explains the situation of sai's fathers death to whole famiy.
Virat-sai move to nagpur but he asks sai to stay in his house with him for a few days until he finds her a hostel. She agrees. He brings sai home and explains everything to them that about what happened in GC and that sai is only staying here for few days then he will shift her to hostel and looks after her all needs whilst she lives there, but they do not care and say they do not run a charity organisation in their house, and so they refuse to let sai to stay even for a few days.
Virat is shocked by their behaviour and tells them that if they can't even open their hearts to open their home for a few days for a girl who lost her father saving their family's son's life, then he too will not live here. The family are stunned that virat is willing to leave the house for a girl he barely knows. Kaku agrees to let sai stay until virat finds sai a hostel.
Later when virat is speaking with sai, ashwini, shivani in the guest room where sai will be staying, downstairs kaku reveals to the family that she is suspicious of virat-sai relationship, else why would virat, who never raises a voice against them, raise his voice on them for a girl he says he only feels a sense of duty towards and why would he be willing to leave the house for her. The family decide that they will not let sai's stay here be a peaceful one after virat spoke against them for her.
Pakhi hearing kaku's words runs into her room crying and also feels virat cheated her and has secretly been in a relationship with sai only whilst he was in GC, which is why he never saved her number and contacted her. Pakhi tearfully talks to her parents on the phone about this, and they feed the idea into her head that virat must have met sai and started liking sai instead, which is why he purposely did not save pakhi phone number, because he was no longer interested in her, but then he without expecting it found out she is to marry into his family, so to make sure his family don't find out and pakhi don't tell his family about virat-pakhi, virat intentionally emotionally blackmailed pakhi that he can't marry her because of his brother and family and made the celibacy promise to her only so that she agrees to marry samrat so that virat can be rid of her.
Pakhi is convinced by their theory that she had only been a time-pass for virat and when he met sai, he only wanted pakhi off his back so tricked her to marry his brother with a fake promise, so that he would be free to be with sai. Pakhi is incensed so she storms out of her room to find virat and when she sees virat with sai in guest room (shivani and ashiwni have left the room by then), she sees virat with his hand on sai's shoulder and wiping tears from her eyes. This confirms to her that virat cheated her and she decides she will not let virat be with sai now for cheating her.
Over the course of the days sai lives with them, pakhi ignores virat and avoids him instead of confronting him. Virat does not understand why she is doing that but he also does not get the chance to talk to her over the course of the next few days whilst sai is living with them due to excessive family drama. She joins the family in taunting and insulting sai. Virat is suprised seeing his family's, and more so, Pakhi's behaviour towards Sai. Virat defends sai in front of family, further angering his family and pakhi, making both his family more suspicious of virat-sai relationship, and pakhi, who already thinks virat cheated her for sai, even more spiteful and jealous towards sai. Sai stands up for herself in front of the family and tactfully handles them without raising her voice at them, which impresses virat.
Virat and sai have a conversation where sai tells him that they did right thing by not marrying seeing how his family is behaving with her. Virat on the other hand says he thinks the only reason why they are behaving with her like that is because in their eyes sai has no relationship with them yet she is living with them and he feels if they both married then his family's behaviour would be different with her and asks her to reconsider the idea of marrying him, and if she wants she can remain as his wife only till she becomes a doctor. Sai considers the possibility and tells him she will keep the idea in mind, but says she prefers as of now to stay in hostel. Virat says of course he will look for a hostel for her, but she should consider his idea and if she ever changes her mind she can tell him without hesitation.
Sai lives in his house for 2 weeks, in that course of time, virat and sai become really close friends, and ashwini and sai form a strong bond much to virat's pleasure seeing sai close to his mother.
Sai finally moves into a hostel and gets admission into medical college, and ashwini is upset to see sai go. Ashwini sends sai off with her laddoos that she makes for virat usually. Virat, who knew sai in few days was gonna shift to hostel starts to feel odd and not liking the idea of sai going away and living in a hostel all alone. Pakhi is glad seeing sai gone and decides to finally confront virat.
Virat starts to miss sai's presence in the house as soon as she has left. Sai too even upon arrival in hostel starts to miss virat. Virat is unable to stop himself, so he calls sai up to see how she is doing. They both have a long chat on the phone, when sai starts to feel dizzy and drops the phone. Virat panics as sai does not say anything. Sai roommate sees sai unconscious on floor and tries to wake sai which virat hears on phone and panics realising something happened to sai. Virat immediately leaves for hostel, even ignoring the family when they are annoyed and protesting him going to sai. Pakhi is incensed.
When virat reaches hostel, the doctor who has been brought in informs him sai is very sick and experiencing dizziness and vomiting. The doctor says it seems like some sort of food poisoning. Virat tries to ask a very weak and sick sai what she ate, and she says she only ate laddoos given by ashwini. Virat is shocked and confused. Doctor says sai needs to be properly looked after and needs 2-3 days rest. Virat decides to take sai back home until sai is better.
The family are angry when virat brings sai back home. Virat does not care what they say and says sai will stay here now until she gets better. Kaku and gang all discuss that they think this is all just an excuse and really virat doesn't even want sai to leave the house in first place and pakhi listens on in fury.
In guest room sai is put to bed rest but entire family storms in accusing virat and sai of making up this illness excuse to keep sai in the house. Virat tries to reason with the family that sai is not making up illness and she is really sick and doctor has checked her who said it was some sort of food poisoning. Virat is about to mention the laddoos, when sai stops him and lies to them she ate some food from outside on the way to hostel as she saw some street food she liked so she ate it. Virat is confused by sai's lie. After the family taunting sai and continuing to accuse her, virat shuts them up sternly and tells them to let sai rest.
When they leave in a huff and puff and virat-sai are alone, virat asks sai why she lied. She says that how hurt and insulted will his mother feel if they told her she got sick because of his mother's laddoos. Plus the family would further taunt ashwini too. Virat is overwhelmed at sai's consideration of his mother's feelings and respect and thanks her. Virat says though that he has the laddoos and is gonna get them checked, because he has been eating his mother's laddoos for years and nothing has ever happened to him.
Karishma and mohit talk in room, where karishma reveals to him, much to mohit's displeasure, that sai is lying about being sick due to eating street food, as she had spiked ashwini's laddoos for sai. Mohit scolds her and asks her why would she do such a thing to sai and what has sai done to her. Karishma reveals to mohit that pakhi is eyeing virat and hates sai. She says she did all this because now no matter what everyone else in the house wants, she wants sai to stay in the house as that way she can use sai against pakhi and so that there will be regular drama in this house where instead of targeting her, kaku will be too busy targeting sai to say much to karishma, so karishma will hit two birds with one stone by having sai in the house. Mohit reminds her sai is only gonna stay until she gets better then will again go hostel. Karishma wonders how will sai stay longer then.
Virat takes one day off work to look after sai all by himself. Virat finds himself enjoying sai's company and recalls how he felt when sai left only for a short while and wonders how odd it is that he has formed such an attachment to sai. On virat's request ashwini and shivani happily look after sai when virat is at work. Virat gets to know that the laddoos ashwini made were spiked and is shocked. He thinks someone else in the house did this to trouble sai as ashwini would never do such a thing. He decides he has no choice but to tell ashwini about how sai got sick from the laddoos, so that he can find out who else could have had the opportunity to mix something in the laddoos.
Ashwini is shocked when virat informs her all this. Virat says he knows she did not do this, even by mistake, so he asks if she ever left the laddoos she gave sai out of her sight after making them. Ashwini says the laddoos she made sai were left in the kitchen for about half an house after she made them to give to sai when she was to depart from the house and that in that half an hour, pakhi, karishma and sonali all three had been in the kitchen at some point. Virat is confused which of the three spiked the laddoos and decides to ask them, but sai hears all this and asks him to forget it as whoever did this brainless prank on her can enjoy the aimless success of their prank, but now that she is better she is going to the hostel where his hostile family members can be away from her and they will all be at peace.... but hearing sai leaving takes away virat's peace instead.
Virat speaks to sai later and asks her to reconsider the idea of marrying him. He tells her that the only reason why family are targeting her like this is because they consider her an outsider living in their house and are offended by him taking her side over theirs for that very reason, but if they were husband and wife, they will not be so against her. Sai again says she thinks it is best she lives in hostel because she does not want to force herself on his family. Sai moves back to the hostel, and once again virat and sai start missing each other.
Virat thinks to himself that he wishes sai changes her mind and agrees to marry him as then he would be able to look after sai with full right and family would have no right to oppose his and sai's bond. Sai on the other hand recalls all the times virat took care of her and misses his company and him taking care of her.
Sai adjusts into her college and hostel life, whilst virat talks to sai on phone regularly and even meets up with her whenever they are free. The family are angry and suspicious seeing the amount of time virat spends with sai despite her not even being in the house. Virat requests sai to stay in his house during vacations periods from college instead of staying alone in hostel all the time and says even family cannot say anything to her about staying in their house because of him. Sai asks him whether he will really argue with his family in order to keep her in his house and he says yes without any thought. She surprisingly asks him why. Virat without thinking tells sai honestly that the house has a whole different and nicer ambiance for him when she is in the house, and that he misses her. Sai and virat both feel embarrassed with this admission of virat's. Sai agrees to virat's offer.
Sai in one of her and virat's outings tells him about her new friend aniket. Virat instantly feels uncomfortable at hearing sai talk about another guy. He asks her if this aniket is better friend than him. Sai outright refuses and says nobody can be a better friend to sayi than virat. Virat is so happy to hear this, but then in jealousy he asks her if she also goes on outings like this with aniket like she does with him. She is confused with his question and says that she isn't that close with aniket yet. Jealous virat asks "Yet?". Sai says she eats lunch with aniket and rest of friends and chats with him along side the rest of friend's group. Virat gets more specific with sai and asks her if she ever goes out alone to spend time with aniket like he and sai do? Virat is relieved when sai says no, and virat says good and asks her not to wander around with other boys by herself like she does with him other than talking to them in college. Sai asks why not other boys if she can spend time alone with him. Virat anxiously scrambles to answer this, and his only way to answer is that kamal sir gave me your responsibility to look after you, so your father gave me the right automatically to take care of you and spend time with you as he trusted me with you, but that does not apply to other boys. Sai is satisfied with his answer, but virat sighs under his breath in relief. He realises that he now feels protective and possessive of sai, but he still does not understand exactly why that is.
Eventually one day when sai comes home with virat for a visit, the family accuse both virat and sai of having an affair secretly as virat and sai still keep talking and meeting too much for too long despite virat saying sai is just a responsibility. The family then warn virat he cannot meet sai at all from now on and say they want him to have nothing to do with her including giving her regular financial help. Sai and virat, who have both grown attached to each other are both panicked and upset over this. Sai requests them saying she will not take any money from virat anymore put please do not stop them both from meeting forever. The family insult sai on hearing this, saying she is trapping their son and tells him to meet her. Virat blasts the family for accusing sai's character and says they cannot stop him from meeting sai. Pakhi intervenes and says with what right does he go and meet sai alone like this all the time and spend time with her and the family echo this question.
Virat and sai are dumbfounded, as the family say they have no right to meet alone like this all the time or meet at all. They order him that he will never see sai again or have anything to do with her. Virat gets angry at the family and turns to sai whose eyes are streaming in tears at the thought of losing the only person she feels she has now to call her own. Virat in front of family asks sai whether she still thinks that what she thought is a good idea and whether she can accept the idea of not having him in her life anymore as the family are all questioning the purity of their bond, or whether she can accept his idea then that way the family cannot stop him from seeing her? The family are confused and asks him what idea is he talking to sai about?
Virat ignores them and continues looking towards sai with hopeful and pleading eyes that she accept his proposal so that the family stops questioning his presence in her life. Virat says to sai that his hands are now tied by his family's harsh words on her character that he cannot stand and requests sai that she give him the right to protect her honour and be a part of her life so that he can fully fulfill his promise to kamal sir as well as to be able to properly stop his family's accusations and words, else if sai decides to stick to her decision he is afraid his family words of disgracing her character will give him no choice but to go from her life.
Sai cries and says if he leaves her she will truly feel like she has nobody left. Virat comforts sai and tells her it does not need to be that way and that if she accepts him as her husband, then nobody, not even his family will have the right to question him being a part of her life, but if she herself does not want him in her life and feels she is okay without him then he will not bother her and neither his family and that he will be able to provide her police protection that she legally can have due to the danger of jagtap, but because of his family he will not be able to do anything else for her or even talk to her and the family is saying they have no right to talk to or meet each other alone or for him to take care of her needs. Sai is silent but tearful. She looks at virat and says that she can do without him taking care of her financial needs as she would pay him back for every bit of money he spends on her anyways when the time comes, but tells him that after losing both her mother and father, and getting virat's care and support, the idea of losing virat's friendship and care will shatter her completely.
The family are shocked hearing virat had asked sai to marry him and sai had refused. Virat gives the family the ultimatum to either accept sai as his wife or to accept that he will continue to be a part of sai's life, support and take care of her needs. Ninad blasts virat saying how on earth can they allow him to keep meeting this girl and being part of her life or even allow him to marry her, because we cannot accept this girl as a bahu, but we also cannot accept this girl you have no relationship with being part of your life either in name of zimmedari when already all the neighbours are talking about this girl being around you and coming up to the women in our house and asking about this girl and your relationship.
Virat then says to either accept me marrying sai and shut up society people, or accept the taunts of society and allow me to continue my duties towards sai. They are all dumbfounded.
Sai tells virat she accepts to marry him then. Virat is stunned and happy. The family are angry. She says if marrying you means that you get to be a part of my life without anybody having an issue and neighbours stop pointing fingers at you because of me, then I will marry you.
And so the story continues from here..............................
