Janki i loved the post. I could relate to many of your sentinents and those of some of the other members in the post. Maine apni bhadaas already nikaal di in several other posts! I am trying to be hopeful that maybe virat will come back and try to do some investigating or maybe overhear the precap convo between pp n bk. But if he hasn't realized how HURT Sai is then i dont know think that he will be able to realize how his wife, wife of an IPS officer is enduring emotional and verbal abuse. Just because she gives it back and has a strong reply doesn't minimize the impact of the onslaught she is tolerating. He doesn't understand how difficult it must be for a young 18-19 yo who is reeling with the loss of her father to now deal with these daily taunts and jibes that are by no means subtle as virat himself as seen a few times and trying to prevent herself from getting emotionally attached to the only people who are even a little bit nice to her especially her "husband" who is one day fulfilling her wishes, taking her out to make her feel better and next day is giving gyaan and pravachan even without allowing her to just cool off after a horrendous morning. kabhi bolta hai ki don't interfere in my family matters, kabhi bolta hai ki nahi bahu bano, sabka dil jeeto. And at the end of the day shes an impressionable young girl. Shes being emotinally manipulated by everyone. Obviously she will consider everything virat has said to her and eventually listen coz she trusts him. But i dont think hes realized that what to him is probably "chhote chohote man mutaav aur family squabbles due to clash of mindsets and generation gap" are not chhote and they have potential to really scar her. I am scared her fire will burn out in this toxic atmosphere, that by repeatedly telling her how matlabi and ehsaan faramosh she is, she may start believing it....or she will get so attached to Aai and Virat that she will cut down on her spunk and retorts and let people hurt her because she feels like she "owes" it to them. I would hate to see that happen. But i sincerely hope and pray it wont.

Sai ka character itna lovable hai that you want to watch just to root for her. I love watching her stand up for herself in a way no one else can. For me, i can only watch and perceive the show as Sais story. sais journey. In my eyes i only see Sai as the protagonist. Shes the one that i can sense that most people are also watching the show for.

But I am convinced the show will rarely live up to our full expectations, maybe some scenes will so i will just look forward to watching those and for the rest - i will just be reading FFs in the forum that will have what we want to see but the show doesn't.

waise agar pakhi jaisi ladki se virat ko 2 days mein pyaar hosakta hai, then ithne dinon mein thi sai se paagalon ki tarah pyaar hona chahiyena?

i mean

1)sai makes him smile,

2)he never hesitates to share about his 'special moments' in life with her.

3)he feels a sense of responsibility towards her.

4)his mom loves her.

5) her absence affects him so much.

6)he gets mesmerized by her beauty, ithna ki dekhta rehjaata hai hai.

aur kya chahiye usse? 🤪

and when he said that

'ksiko samajne keliye, pasand karne keliye waqt lagta hai' (about his family)

i wanted sai to ask him

'tho do din mein pattu di mein ithna kya samajaagaya aap ko ki ITHNA pyaar hogaya?'

If there is anything I learnt from today is that:

a) Sai can survive on her own. Her Abba made her strong enough

b) Virat cannot fight for Sai because he need to fight for himself first, he needs to learn to fight his own battles first.

That is absolutely true. I guess he needs to realise that he will be able to change anything around him only when he changes his approach by breaking all the chains binding him.

c) This marriage was promoted as a way to "save" Sai. But, it will actually "save" Virat because he has a lot to grow, to know, to learn and like you said "to earn".

He will earn when he will yearn and it will happen soon. It is much needed actually and I also know, though I am disappointed in Ashwini a bit, it will be she who will show him the mirror.

I'm choosing not to dwell too much on the epi today or else, i'll write essays on the things i saw today!

Writing essays is also an occupational hazard to me, especially writing bhadaas wala essays 🤣

(I enjoy reading your take on episodes, Janaki. And I return, this time to defend Virat.)

[I have not seen yesterday’s episode – cannot watch stupidity and toxic actions and reactions. Just read the written update. And I might quit watching the show if the mindless negativity continues.

[This post is based on the short clips that I saw on Instagram.]

Virat’s reaction was neither too strong nor dismissive. A stronger reaction could have led to a full-blown war. There was no time for that, as Sai was already late on her first day to college. And she was angry, hurt, and wanted to hit back. The other team members were itching for a BIGFIGHT. Virat stopped that and saved Sai from further attacks, which could have made her miss her first day and completely spoiled her day.

Now to the conversation in the vehicle, I think he was trying to calm Sai down. It was an important day for her, and in her furious and hurt state, she might have let the joy of such a momentous occasion slip. Were his family members wrong? Yes. But, then, he did not see it happen with his own eyes, and no one told him about the poison-dipped comments that were thrown at Sai and their smirks. And, we rarely badmouth our family members.

Also, Sai still does not have the money needed for the hostel. She has to live under the same roof with his family until she gets her scholarship or Abba’s money. So, if she sees a majority of them as evil, it will become difficult for her to spend even a day there. She has to change her strategy to win some battles. Virat’s advice and words were practical and wise, considering the situation.

(Indian television dialogue writers often mess up a track with their round-round lines that make no sense. They probably think that they are making a character say something profound -- which is actually not the case but lazy writing. Also, they don’t remember what they had made a character mouth only a couple of episodes ago, which kills the joy of watching a show.

I usually don’t watch Indian television shows because of their never-ending drama, high torture quotient where everyone gangs up against one woman, and the TRP dictating the shade of the character and the storyline. With this show’s TRP being high, I was hoping for less negativity, better storylines and dialogues. Unfortunately, creative have no intention of delivering that and are busy copy-pasting without using their brains.]

I understand your disappointment with today’s episode . I just want to share my perspective here .

I am not disappointed with the episode. Each episode is a window into the minds of the characters so I am disappointed in the character of Virat today. And loved your perspective.🤗 I am carrying forward this discussion with my replies below:

1.Virat never normalized molestation . I don t think he expects her to recall any of her disturbing memories but it’s fact that she faced all of it without breaking down .He expected her to face another challenge of her life without giving up too easily because by leaving the family she will lose the ones that has always loved and supported her in that house . The dialogues could have been better.

The character of Virat is not any random rich businessman kind of man. He is an IPS officer, who has himself rescued this girl standing in front of his eyes and witnessed the kind of people Jagtap and Vitthal are. To 'casually' drop reference to them and how she 'dealt' with their torture and compare it to her current situation of being in a 'loveless marriage to the scion of a grudging family' was totally off placed for me. You don't think that the mere mention of Jagtap and Vitthal can flood her with bad memories and the pain of losing her father? If I were around someone like her, I would never use the trigger words for covering up a feeling I cannot express. All she should have said, "I am with you. Don't give up." And her question was anyway logical- why should I struggle and suffer so much for people who mean nothing to me and when I am not going to be in that house.

He could have given her any other example, but telling her "Jagtap-Vitthal se bhid gayi but mere Baba aur Kaku Ka Dil Jeetne se darr rahi hai?" Sach me laga ki inko aaj breakfast naseeb Nahi hua so dimaag bandh hai... The dialogues toh are a problem because they are only using Google translator Bengali. That's why even the character break is jarring. Virat is not Ranajay. We are bound to expect better from him.

2. Virat has always backed her from the day he brought her into his house not just during the outing plan . I was disappointed today with the execution but he deserves the credit where it’s due .

He HAD to back her because brining her there was his decision in the first place. I know it's more about the execution of the show but then we will also have to take at face value the dialogues that they are making the characters mouth. I have always given him credit when due, but it is a fact that we are yet to see what he will do if he indeed has to choose between Chavan Khandaan and Sai. It has not yet come to that.

3. From the day he married Sai , he always had to chose between his family and Sai and he has always stood by his wife . It’s not easy to stand against people who once were his ideals.

His conviction in standing up for his marriage and his promise to make her a doctor -- the basis for the marriage is applaudable. No doubt. But beyond that, I do not think he has yet reached a point where he has made a "choice". He is playing the balancing act. Protecting her honour, yes. Absolutely he is. But he is also ensuring that he reminds her when she's splashing the water from the pool even if it is a stone thrown by his own family into her pool.

4.I might be in the minority but I never felt he stopped her going to hostel because he needs her . I don’t think he has realized that yet . He is till thinking about zimmenadari, farz .

You know, I actually agree with Ninad's comment at gruh pravesh that as an IPS officer he need not have married Sai to fulfill any zimmedari or farz but he did because of the social pressure and moreover because it was Sai. And marriage gives him the unquestionable right to be with her. He has a connection with her. He even knows he does but he doesn't want to verbalise and acknowledge it. He doesn't need her, you are right. I personally find the word 'need' toxic. So yes, he doesn't need her. But she is his 'spirit'. And so, the moment she speaks of leaving, he feels this sting. He doesn't know that yet.

5. I was disappointed with Ashwini but I don’t think mother son duo were trying to avoid Sai’s feelings. .Ashwini wanted Sai to leave the place before she is pulled into another useless arguments and provoked further. At that time , priority was Sai’s college not another family drama .

I never said the mother-son were trying to avoid her feelings. I know Ashwini was feeling bad but it was her lack of fight that put me off. She was buckling down under the pressure from Ninad and Bhavani with just a raised finger warning. Today, Ashwini was much better than yesterday but it was because Virat had arrived. She can't fight without Virat around.

Also, coming to Virat giving back to the family. I actually didn't mind whatever occurred. It was fine. He made his point in a useless situation by asking Sai to get up and leave with him. He also made it a point to mention to the two spineless old men that there was no need for the show of vengeance on Sai's first day of college. He also gave it to Patralekha in the quantity she deserved. I actually liked that he didn't indulge in her because that is exactly what Patralekha wanted and didn't get.

I did not write much about it because I didn't find anything extremely wrong in his urge to get Sai out of that place. He had gauged everything in those few minutes. He is an IPS officer. They are trained to study forensics. They solve cases by just glancing at injuries. The careful look at Sai's hand was enough to tell him the entire story and followed by Sai meeting his eyes and silently letting her tears flow. And the pain he felt when he did realise it was evident -- it was excellently emoted by both the actors. He didn't need details.

So, what was bothering was the conversation in the car when they were alone. His need to manipulate her to seeing toxicity as normal 'purane khayalato wali family'. It just appeared to be a very bad attempt to cover up the torture because he knew it was that. I would have been a bit okay even if he had just kept quiet during the drive or shut up at the zimmedari uthani padti hai part.

But his reaction to 'oh-my-god' she will leave moment was bothersome. He wants her to fight to win the hearts of his family. Kiske liye? When his own heart is not hers? It's an indigestible advise. Man needs to have a monologue and decide what he wants.

Lastly, I would like to add that I was disappointed because like the danda episode I expected they would surprise me with a good episode but they dished out the same crappy dialogues from other two versions . Though I expected more from Virat I wold give him some benefit of doubt in this case and definitely I don’t think he was a abuser .

I am not calling him Ann abuser either. His care for Sai is praiseworthy but in his attempt to make her understand the need to internalise some of the toxicity, he is asking her to be in the line of fire for no reward at the end of it.

Loved your perspective🤗 nothing gives more joy than actually discussing two different opinions! ❤️ thank you!

The only "reward" if she actually manages to make a place for herself in everyones heart will only be if she is going to truly be his "wife". Because if not, shes going to have to be lonely again after getting emotionally attached to a house full of people. Its difficult for him to address that now. But he is postponing the inevitable. Whats the ultimate goal even if she manages to win over everyone- stay there as a "lifelong roommate" like someone else on the forum aptly described it. He needs to confront the fact at some point that the only reason he married her was because he has more than just a zimmedari and farz connection with her. But when his father suggested that he categorically denied it and he also blew up at Sai in that scene where he had a confrontation with her when he was worried about getting fired where Sai in front of PP questioned him about marrying her despite her requesing him not to. He doesn't want to face the fact that he could have "feelings" for Sai more than just farz and zimmedari towards the orphaned daughter of his mentor who took a bullet for him. Maybe its not love yet but atleast he needs to acknowledge that theres a "connection" . Even when he missed her at night when she slept in maushis room and he asked himself why he was getting affected he quickly shot it down and almost seemed afraid to dwell on it. But denial and avoidance kab tak chalega. Kabhi na kabhi he needs to have an honest conversation with self.

Virat has resorted to by presenting it as a "challenge" to Sai. One minute, did he also compare the "Chakram family ko jeeto-challenge" with Sai's bravery against Jagtap bad Vitthal Mane? Kaahi kalale Nahi, Chavan saheb. You want Sai to summon her energies that she had for Jagtap-Vitthal to win your grudging, scheming family matriarch? I have a PROBLEM with this example in the first place.

It means you have absolutely NO IDEA what you just asked of Sai. You are asking this girl to recall how she endured molestation, stalking, attempted rape and compare it to the unending emotional and mental torture (now also add physical) in your house and treat it like 'yet another challenge'.

Why should she treat it like a challenge since all of them (purana khayala)treats sai like trash.mental torture everyday left right and center. And now physical torture too.I am sad bcoz sai is not a pity case.its coz of her aaba u r alive and more over she is the princess daughter of ur guru.I am sure kamal sir must be turning in his grave seeing his daughters condition

After todays episode one thing is clear sai has no one not even you.And u r right she is a fighter and she doesnt need you to fight her battles.

I am disappointed in both virat and ayi but mainly virat bcoz he is a police office and it's his duty to protect women from abuse.(didnt DIG assign u to that task.oh Sry I Forgot u where so busy dreaming about PP bit** during that meeting.)

Todays saving grace was sais dialogues and pakhis jealous face.

No wonder paakhi is unable to sleep.Paakhi is filled with soo much negativity it must have been spilling over the bed and burning her when she lay down to sleep

Virat comparing vital and jagtab to chakram niwasees was true. Both families are sadistic brutes who is sitting on their own high egotistical as**s

U dont deserve our pure dew drop ACp.Do some thing to earn her.u r right I dont think chavan Saab will choose sai if its be sai and his family

Leave our sai in hostel there she will meet friends her own age and be away from ur toxic family

And no amount of sairat scene would make up for the torture we have to put up for 2 days

Virat please make it clear to chakram niwasees that they are inhuman alians

Aww Jiss!😘 He got me super mad today but the man has his values in the right place so I am hoping he will soon make up for this nonsensical defence he made today.

I don't expect him to call out the family so soon...it never happens even in real life when someone has grown up in a toxic environment and called it 'sanskaar'
