Hai Janki welcome to the forum. Thoroughly enjoyed reading your post. Both 'vada' and 'vachana' have Sanskrit roots and they are connected to 'vaak' that is speech. Since vada means to say about something definitely and vachana is a 'word' the later seems to be having more value in religious context.

I think a person can fulfil all his duties even in the absence of a promise. Usually a statement is made to remind oneself of what has to be done or for an assurance to the other parties when there is something involving them all together. Hence giving a word has become an integral part of religious requirements and responsibilities to the persons or activities we are dedicated to in life like parents, job, marriage, children etc. Its not a day to day thing. In every day life we only perform our duties.

Virat's promise to Pakhi doesn't make any sense at all because neither Pakhi is his responsibility nor he is undertaking something in life involving her. Moreover that vaada will be an immoral act by both (the one who gave and the one who obtained it as well) considering the fact that such a statement can only be between two persons getting committed towards each other. Here only Samrat has the right to make it and Pakhi can extract such a promise only from Samrat. Virat is an outsider.

Wow! Loved your reference to Sanskrit origin of the two words and also their significance in the context of religious duties.

Completely agree with you that the vaada in any case is immoral. While I would like to give a small benefit to Pakhi about not having feelings for her new husband yet -- they didn't spend even a minute alone so to say to expect a 'progressive' girl like her to feel much -- but her constant nag to Virat about 'purana vaada Nahi toda jaata, Kyun toda Kyun toda" is totally immoral and unacceptable. She cannot deny either that it was her own assumption that Virat had cheated her that drove her to willingly accept the proposal from the Chavans for Samrat. About Virat - the guy is an IPS officer but he wears his heart on his sleeve and goes around brushing the promises to the whole world with his pakki zabaan.

I mean, even Sai was surprised when he landed up in his fancy dress and said he felt she had disconnected herself so he was compelled to come to see her. The dialogues had so much weight - "wo Shaadi chhodhkar tumhare pass wapas bhi toh Aaya... Value Nahi hai?" And "Aaj bhi Vitthal ke gundo se Bach Kar Aaya tumhare pass"... I mean, the guy never video called his so called 'Love' to check on her but he couldn't help video call Sai 🤣 iska involuntary Dil bhi pakki zabaan Dene wala hai eventually 😅

What a fantastic post.

Agreed, Virat reiterated that there is nothing between him and Sai is more for himself than anyone else. Point is that Virat Pakhi don’t know each other at all. They fell is “Love” in two days. What in the world!! 😆
Virat knows Sai, he feels a connection with her. He can repeating whatever he wants, it’s not going to make any difference in the end.

You are correct in saying that Pakhi can feel it already and that is why she’s going to loose her sh!t and go psycho in jealousy.

Bold- so true. He KNOWS Sai. The way he has been observing her since the time they met, it's almost as if he knows how she will react to something and is even scared of her reactions if you ask. The scene where usha maushi tells sai on the phone that aaba has taken his medicine and Virat is ensuring he obeys, he was looking for Usha's reaction. The Dil has already made its own vaada 🤣🤣🤣

Exactly even I was quite surprised with his dialogues during the safe house incidents. He was checking in on her through video calls. I don't know what to say. This Pakhi vaada Jaap was almost non-existent at that time. Only after Sai questioned him about his relationship with Pakhi he became so much involved in it.

Wow!! I just love this post... and I agree with every single thing that you've just said. It's true that a woman's instinct is always the strongest. Maybe Virat hasn't broken his promise... yet. But he will, and she will always have that fear. Plus, despite what Virat tells himself and her, Pakhi knows that Virat cares immensely for Sai, and he admires her to some extent. So, according to Pakhi, this is the beginning of Virat's promise going downhill.

Virat here is fighting a lost battle. He keeps his vaada rant going because he wants to remind himself again and again that he is not supposed to fall for sai but somewhere he knows he cares for her a little too much.

His friend sunny, pakhi, ninaad, bhawani all can see this innhia behavior and the way he talks about sai that he has feelings for her. Ninaad said it very clearly that there were several options to fulfill his promise to kamal joshi but virat chose to marry sai because he wanted to. Subconsciously virat has grown attracted towards sai....while protecting her he started taking care of her and when her aaba died he couldn't leave her all alone. He wanted to protect her from every harm and keep her safe and in front of his eyes.

Though he has hiven vaada to pakhi but sairat has taken sacred vows of marriage in front of pious fire which is considered as most important, most auspicious vows that are not supposed to be broken in one's life. Moreover in hindu culture marriages tie two souls for not just one but seven births....how a mere vaada made out of infatuation or obsession can break sacred marriage vows

Sai too keeps reminding him and more to herself that this is just a compromise. She cant dare to have expectations from this marriage and virat. Somewhere she knows that virat is not at all responsible for her aaba's death. She just wanted to blame someone for it and dont we show our anger to the person most close to us. Sai know she needs virat because right now only he is her only family.

Both will soon realise how stupid their theories were and how deeply they fell for each other
